Choose A Family : Parent Profile

Kim and Tom

Hello!

Thank you for taking the time to read our profile book. This decision you have made, though not an easy one, shows your selflessness and love. We admire your courage and wish to become your partner in the adoption process.

Let us tell you a little about ourselves. We met through mutual friends twelve years ago and married in 2005. We are financially and professionally stable and ready to start a family. The results of these efforts have lead us to the path of adoption, and we pray and trust that God will bring us a child that needs a stable and loving home. We are so grateful for this opportunity to add a child to our family.

Kim is originally from Dallas, Texas, and still speaks with a Texas accent. She loves children and babysits for friends when the need arises. She enjoys spending time with her brother and his little girls, ages 18 months and 3 years. Kim spent many years in sales and most recently was the customer service manager for a title insurance company. Kim also volunteers in her community (especially with animals) and likes to help others. Kim looks forward to being a stay-at-home mom and feels blessed that she will be able to devote 100% of her time raising this child.

Tom is the son of a Navy Chief Petty Officer and was raised in California with his 3 brothers and sisters. Growing up he loved school and sports, especially baseball and basketball in which he excelled and was awarded a college basketball scholarship. He is currently a Human Resources Manager where he is able to put his great people skills to use. He has quite a sense of humor and an ability to put others at ease. He volunteers in the community and is an usher at church.

We both come from positive and loving home environments. Kim’s parents have been married for 46 years and Tom’s parents were married 49 years. We have 10 nieces and nephews, most of who live close by. We plan to raise our child in a Christian home and to teach respect and tolerance of other people and cultures. Our intentions are to enroll our child in a private parochial school and to provide the best college opportunities available. We believe in the importance of education. Our home will be filled with encouragement, unconditional love, structure, and lots of laughter (and animals). One of our greatest strengths as a couple is that we truly enjoy each others’ company and can easily make ourselves laugh!

We’ve owned our home for 9 years, and the mountains and beaches are not far away. Every winter we take a trip to the mountains to get our “snow fix”, and each June we spend a week on Santa Rosa Beach in Florida with family. We both love to garden and work on home improvement projects. In our spare time we attend musicals and plays both locally and in LA. We have two little dogs, Pepe (the chihuahua) and Roakie (the dachshund), and one cat (Homer). We adore them, and they certainly enrich our lives. All three are the sweetest little guys you’d ever meet.

Thank you for reading this letter. We are very excited about the possibility of being your child’s adoptive parents.

God Bless You,
Kim and Tom
