Surrogacy Arrangements

surrogacy guidelines

Couples considering surrogacy are often referred to as the Intended Father and the Intended Mother, together referred to as the “Intended Parents,” in a match with a proposed Surrogate. The Intended Parents are considered the responsible party for all medical costs and fees for the Surrogate. Surrogacy benefits all Parties in that legal rights are protected by the filing of a stipulated Judgment to establish parental rights before the baby is born. Legal Judgments are obtained at approximately six months of pregnancy and irrevocably establish the parental rights of the child on behalf of the Intended Parents. This allows you to take your baby home from the hospital at the time of the birth with sole legal custody of the child.

Most couples achieve success within their surrogacy arrangements within approximately three cycles. If a pregnancy has not achieved within three to four cycles, egg donation or other medical considerations should be analyzed with medical professionals. In gestational surrogacy, the egg and sperm of both Intended Parents are formed through in vitro fertilization so that it is your genetic child. The exciting element to surrogacy is that approximately ninety percent of surrogacy arrangements proceed with at least the donation of sperm from the Intended Father to provide a genetic link of at least one parent to the child.
