Hi! We are Jeff and Mike, along with our son Jack, from Sacramento, California. We’ve been together for over 15 years and have so much fun together along with our son, Jack. We are looking forward to expanding our family. We hope you learn a bit about who we are, what we’re like and how much we have to offer your child. Thank you for getting to know us!

We always knew we wanted to have a family and be dads. We knew adoption was the right pathway for us. Adopting Jack and being his dads has been the biggest joy and honor of our lives and we’re so excited to be adopting again. We have so much love in our hearts to share with another child

We met online in January 2010 in San Francisco. Jeff was Mike’s first online date and we knew pretty quickly that we wouldn’t need to look anymore. We had an amazing wedding in April 2017 surrounded by friends and family and celebrated our love and commitment to one another. After getting married, we knew we wanted to start our family and with that in mind, we moved to Sacramento to buy a home for our future family. In April 2023, we adopted our son, Jack, and he’s been the biggest joy in our lives. We love being dads. Mike is a stay-at-home dad and takes care of Jack. Jeff works at a nearby university which offers lots a flexibility to be at home.

Travel: We both love to travel and explore the world and can’t wait to share this with our children. Together we take every opportunity to travel to new places and meet new people. We have been across the United States, taken several trips to Mexico, and explored Costa Rica, Italy, Spain, Greece, and many other places together. We look forward to instilling in our children a sense of wonder at the world.

Food: We love to eat! Exploring new restaurants and trying new foods is one of our favorite activities here in Sacramento and wherever we travel. At home Mike loves to cook. He’s always trying new recipes and always looks forward to having people over to try his next masterpiece. In addition to cooking, Mike has gotten into DIY projects recently. He has harnessed his inner HGTV and installed shiplap walls, crown molding, and even built a deck in the backyard.

Public Transit: Jeff not only works in public transit, but is passionate about it too. Wherever we travel, we always scope out the local bus stops and subways. Among his favorites are the subway stations in Athens which are all like mini museums.

I grew up in a family with my mom, dad, and older sister. We lived in a great neighborhood where all us kids were about the same age and played together around the neighborhood. I always wanted to have a family and live in a neighborhood like I grew up in—full of friends and community. When I met Mike, we wanted the same things in life and with family and after we got married, we moved to Sacramento to find a neighborhood with big parks and young families. I work at a local university which offers me lots of flexibility to be home when needed. I oversee the bus service where we not only operate the buses but also maintain the fire trucks. Its always so fun to bring Jack to see the buses and fire trucks. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and making new memories with them! Having friends over to eat and laugh is one of my favorite things. My friends and family all say I have a very unique (and loud!) laugh.

Jeff is an amazing husband and a wonderful dad. He has always been loving and caring, but it seems that having a baby has somehow expanded those qualities even more. When we were first dating, I went on a trip to Colorado and got sick while I was there. I told him how it was hard to sleep at my parents small house since I had to stay on the couch. Twenty minutes later he calls and tells me that he booked me a night at a nearby hotel so I could get a goodnight sleep and hopefully get better. As a dad, he is a joy to watch! I stay at home with our child, and every day when Jack hears the garage door open he starts running and yelling “Papa! Papa!” until Jeff walks in. Jack literally can’t wait to see him. I know he’ll have just as much love for our 2nd child too!

I have always wanted to be a dad. For as long as I can remember, I always loved talking to little kids and seeing how they experience the world. So when Jeff and I got married I was so excited to start the process for our first adoption. I grew up with an older brother, and I couldn’t imagine a life without a sibling. I hope to give that same experience to our children too. Before we adopted our 1st child, I was a high school band teacher, so music is a big part of my life that I love to share. We listen to a lot of music in our house, and our 2-year-old loves it! His favorite instrument right now is the drums. I also have always loved to cook. Making big meals for people brings me a lot of joy. Just before we adopted Jack, Jeff and I went on a trip to Italy and took a cooking class there. It was so much fun, and we took those recipes home and recreated them for our friends and family. I am looking forward to expanding our family further and introducing our child to new music and new foods.

Mike is one of the most caring and supportive people I know. When we met in 2010, I knew he was someone who I could spend my life with and build a family with. Before being a stay-at-home dad, he was a high school music teacher which was like raising and supporting 50+ kids each year! I knew he would be great with a child by seeing him interact with his students. He was always so patient and took every opportunity to teach. He’s been the same way with Jack. He is always using their time together to learn, teach, and grow. Mike has so much love to share with our family and friends. He’s amazing with our son and I know he’ll be great with our 2nd child.

Our son, Jack, is two years old and we adopted him when he was a newborn. Jack loves to read and play with anything with wheels on it! He’s curious, a bit shy with new people, and very loving. He’s great at giving big hugs!

Mike has always wanted to be a stay-at-home dad. We moved up to Sacramento in order to be able to make sure we could have him stay at home and take care of our family.

Our home is a warm and welcoming 3-bedroom house in the suburbs of Sacramento. There are 2 parks just a short walk away which we go to almost daily! There’s also an elementary school right across the street. Mike’s mom lives just a mile down the road and we have lots of friends in town so our children will always be around a loving, supportive community of family and friends. On weekends, we have Mike’s mom over and often either have friends over or go see friends for brunch or lunch. On weekdays, Mike and Jack go to the local parks to play with the neighborhood kids and parents as well as go to a kid’s music and play class.

We love to decorate for Christmas! The day after Thanksgiving is decorating day. Lights go up outside, and several boxes of decor come out. Every throw pillow, door mat, hand towel, and blanket gets replaced with a holiday themed one. We even replace the curtains to match! We spend the whole month surrounded by Christmas while we eat from plates with even more cheer. It’s magical!

We are so fortunate to be surrounded by such a large and loving community of family and friends. Mike’s mom lives just down the street from us and comes over to play with Jack. They love to sit and read together. Having grandma so close by is great for everyone. Jeff’s parents and family are about 90 minutes way including our two nephews. We see them about once a month. Every summer, we go on a family vacation with Jeff’s family which includes lots of swimming, laughing, and playing Uno. We have lots of friends in town and enjoy having them come over, going to their homes, or meeting at a new (family friendly) restaurant.

We promise to raise your child in a supportive and caring home filled with love. It is so important to us that above everything our child goes to bed each night feeling so much love. One of the traditions that we feel very strongly about is having dinner together around the family table each night. This gives us time to spend quality time talking and sharing with each other. We’ve done this every night since we met and have continued to do so with our son Jack. We also promise to make sure your child knows how much you love and care for them too. We will share updates, photos, and videos frequently.
