Hello! We’re Stacey + Nathan from Chula Vista, California, plus Luca! We know that adoption is a deeply personal decision. And you are very strong to even consider this path for your child. We’ve been a family since 2010 and have longed to be parents for many years. We’ve struggled with infertility and haven’t been able to conceive a child on our own and are very excited to grow our family through adoption!

We were introduced to each other by a mutual friend that insisted we would be a good match. We met in person through an awkward introduction at a birthday party and thankfully that wasn’t the end of it! We have been married since 2010 and have grown so much in that time, as individuals and as a couple. We’ve lived in 3 states together: Florida, Tennessee, and California and have called Chula Vista home since 2017. Our life is simple and fun and we bring out the best in each other. They say that opposites attract and that is very true of us!

I grew up on a small island in the Pacific Ocean called Kwajalein. I have one brother and my parents have now been married for 50+ years. I’m very close to my brother even though he lives over 1,000 miles away in Seattle. I work in the aerospace industry doing materials management and absolutely love working with teams of people all around the world. I love God and people and find so much joy in spending time with people and getting to know them through good conversation. I enjoy being with our church family and working with the youth. I am a runner and like to go skiing every year in Colorado. I like being outside in the sunshine, traveling around the world, and hiking, camping, and backpacking with Nathan. I love animals and I am so excited to be a mom in the future.

What I find most compelling about Stacey is that she loves God more than she loves anyone or anything else - even more than she loves me. So many people are drawn to Stacey and her zest for life but many are unaware that, while much of her personality is natural to her, she draws much of her friendliness and care of others from God. She is able to feel what others feel and has a unique way of making others feel comfortable and able to trust. This is the basis from which she leads and serves in life. I believe these are essential qualities that will be an immeasurable blessing to our child as they learn to trust, build emotional and spiritual bonds, and find a home where they can have a wonderful mother and father. Effervescent. Vivacious. Magnetic. Empathetic. Talkative. Yes, Stacey is like that.

I grew up in the Sunshine State (Florida) and I’m the oldest of three siblings. Although my childhood was relatively good, my parents divorced when I was a teenager. It was at this difficult period in life that I met Jesus and I’ve become a devoted and life-long follower. Jesus has given me purpose and direction in my life and has given me compassion. I am a pastor by calling and have helped families and their teenagers follow Jesus for many years. I am currently teaching an adult class at church every Sunday, preaching on occasion, and helping with various activities with kids at church including Vacation Bible School. I enjoy reading, traveling, and being outside at the beach or on hiking trails. I have a deep affection and bond with animals and love finding ways to care for God’s good creation. I pray that God will give me the opportunity to become a godly father.

Nathan is a wonderful man and is a great complement to me! He loves God and is very passionate about learning, studying, and serving others. He has a compassionate heart and cares deeply about people and animals. He helps keep me grounded and he makes me laugh every day. He is seriously so funny and does the best impressions! He is intellectual and challenges my mind and my heart to think deeper and to continue growing. I am so thankful to be married to Nathan and look forward to watching him become a dad. I have seen him demonstrate incredible fatherly love and great care for our dog Luca and for Judah and Luau, our dog and mini pig who are no longer with us. Nathan is so good with kids and always knows how to connect with them and make them feel comfortable. I have no doubt that he will be a wonderful father.

We love to travel and do fun things together! We like to do long road trips with lots of camping and we also like to travel across the world and experience other cultures. We enjoy spending time with friends and are very involved with our church family. We recently traveled to the Maldives and Singapore to celebrate our anniversary and did two backpacking trips together last year! We are vegan (Nathan) and vegetarian (Stacey) and enjoy finding new restaurants to try. We are both working hard to become fluent in Spanish because we live so close to Mexico. We also really like to spend time at home with our sheepadoodle, Luca, and watch some shows or YouTube videos and just relax. We are proud to be called Aunt and Uncle and look forward to being called Mom and Dad soon!

We absolutely love taking road trips to National Parks and going hiking and camping! In 2019, we drove to Utah/Arizona and visited 6 parks on that trip. In 2024, we took a road trip to the Dakotas and got to camp among the bison, see the Milky Way at night, and spend time enjoying incredible cave systems. We love adventures and look forward to sharing this with our child.

We live in Chula Vista, a suburb of San Diego and love being able to see both the Pacific Ocean and the mountains every day. We live in an urban neighborhood about 2 miles from San Diego Bay and there are countless outdoor activities and walking trails to enjoy. We live in a 3 bedroom historic home with plenty of backyard space to run around and have fun. Our neighborhood is very walkable and is close to schools, grocery stores, shops, restaurants, parks, and a hospital. We hope to be able to enroll our child in a bilingual school (English and Spanish) as there are many in our school district. Our neighborhood is very diverse and we have lots of trees, butterflies, and birds in our yard. We are very involved with our church community and our church is about 15 minutes away. We are so looking forward to welcoming a child into our home and community and can’t wait to make memories together!

We like to take Luca on walks and play in the backyard. He loves treats of all types! He went on his first camping trip this year and did great. He enjoys going through the drive thru at Starbucks to get a pup cup. We’ve never see him eat something that fast before! We are animal lovers all around! We miss our boys, Judah and Luau, who have passed away. Nathan proposed to Stacey with Judah when he was a little puppy back in 2009. Luau, our mini pig, joined the family in 2013. We hope that our child(ren) will always grow up with animals and full of love for God's creation.

Our family is spread out across the country and we don’t get to see each other very often but when we do, we have a lot of fun! We’ve had the joy of welcoming all of our siblings and their families to our home and had fun taking them around San Diego. It’s such a blessing to love where we live and have the opportunity to share it with those we love, although it’s not often enough. Nathan had the privilege of officiating his sister’s wedding and Stacey’s cousin’s wedding. Stacey’s brother-in-law is Japanese and her brother and husband are raising their son to be bilingual and bi-cultural. Nathan's mom's partner adopted his son many years ago. While we don’t have any family that lives anywhere close, we consider our church family to be just that-family. We look forward to our child having lots of aunties and uncles in the church and growing up knowing that they are loved by so many people near and far!

We didn’t always grow up with super close-knit families and we want it to be different with us. We want to be the family that eats dinner together in the evenings and talks about our day. We want to celebrate our child’s successes and be there through their fears. We want to pray together, and raise our child to love the Lord. We want them to have an appreciation for creation and be kind and caring towards others. We want them to love all people and have a zest for life. We want them to always know about and have an appreciation for their first mom. We would like to have a connection with you as our child grows if that is something you are open to. We commit to always praying for you and teaching them to do the same.

We have been praying to be parents for many years and are excited to be adopting! We have so much love to share and we commit to loving our child unconditionally for as long as we live. We take this commitment seriously and know that it will not be an easy road for anyone involved. We love because Christ first loved us, adopted us into his family, and called us children of God. We commit to raising our child to love God, love others, be connected to you in some way (if that is your preference) and always respect the decision that you are making to choose adoption.
