Our first child, Summer, joined our family thanks to a courageous surrogate, and that life-changing experience deepened our respect for the incredible gift of helping build a family. Summer is excited to be a big sister, and we’re ready to complete our family, with your help.

For us, growing our family has never followed a traditional path — and that’s okay. After years of hope and heart, we became parents through surrogacy, and while that journey changed our lives, this time we feel deeply called to adoption. Family means everything to us, and we have so much more love to share, from us, from our daughter, even from our dog, Indiana Bones! We truly believe there’s a baby out there who’s meant to be part of our family, just as much as we’re meant to be theirs.

We met in Hollywood through mutual friends and instantly clicked. That first night, we discovered a surprising connection—Suzanne had gone to college in Dan’s hometown while he was working on her campus. We dated for six years before getting married, building a strong foundation and knowing early on that growing our family might look a little different. We've always known Suzanne couldn’t carry a child, but Dan’s love and unwavering support never faltered.

In 2020, we welcomed our daughter, Summer. She’s the light of our lives and a daily reminder that love creates miracles. Today, our world revolves around school drop-offs, dance parties, kitchen karaoke, and hikes with our dog. Our home is filled with laughter, joy, and a whole lot of good energy—and we can’t wait to share it with another child.

We enjoy staying active, being creative, and spending time together.

Suzanne loves cooking and trying new recipes to keep meals fun for our family. Pilates and her weekly Mahjong game with friends are a great reset and give her a break from “momming.” Lately, pickleball has become a favorite way for us to stay active together.

Dan has always enjoyed creative hobbies. During the pandemic, he discovered a love for LEGO and has built nearly 85 sets, which he finds relaxing. He’s also loved video games since childhood and still enjoys both playing and creating them. Spending time outside with our dog, Indiana Bones, especially tossing the ball in the backyard, is another favorite.

Summer is the heart of our family. Whether we’re dancing, painting, inventing silly games, or filming her latest “music video,” she fills our home with joy. She shares a special bond with Indiana Bones, who joins in everything from dress-up to doggy spa days. We’re excited to share these moments, family traditions, and everyday fun as our family grows.

I grew up outside Washington, D.C., in a small, close-knit family. Though my parents divorced when I was young, they remained close friends and co-parents, teaching me the importance of respect, humor, and resilience. With an adventurous, people-loving spirit, I moved to California in search of new experiences. For more than 15 years, I worked as a personal and executive assistant to high-profile clients, traveling the world and experiencing everything from movie sets to concert tours.

But I always knew I wanted to be a mom. When our daughter was born, I stepped away from my career without hesitation. I’m often told I’m funny and outgoing, and I love to laugh, pull a prank or two, and bring people together. Today, my greatest joy comes from caring for those I love, cheering from the sidelines, and cherishing life’s everyday moments. I can’t wait to watch my children grow up and write their own story together.

My wife Suzanne is, without a doubt, the heart of our home. Suzanne is smart, hilarious, endlessly creative and an extraordinary mom to our daughter. From day one, she’s been our anchor: full of love, patience, and that rare energy that brings fun to even the simplest moments. She has a gift for turning the everyday into something special, whether it’s a spontaneous trip to collect shells at the beach, a science experiment, or a new family tradition she’s dreamed up on the spot. She’s also the “mom boss” around here, leading the PTA at Summer’s school, staying deeply involved in her education and extracurricular activities, and somehow keeping everything running smoothly with grace and humor. And then there’s the performer side of Suzanne: she can sing, dance, and light up a room like she’s straight off a Broadway stage (and yes, she reminds me often that I’m not the musical one in the family). It’s one of our favorite running jokes: I bring the dad jokes, she brings the show tunes and pop diva!

I grew up in Connecticut, surrounded by East Coast charm, but I always felt pulled toward something bigger. Right after college, I followed that instinct and headed west to Los Angeles to chase my passion for tech, business, and finance. Twenty years later, I’m proud to have built a global company with over 100 employees. I truly love what I do, collaborating with founders, building ideas from the ground up, and turning visions into thriving businesses. But no matter how fulfilling my career is, being Summer’s dad is the greatest role I’ll ever have. When COVID shifted life, it gave me the unexpected gift of working from home and with it, precious time with her that I’ll never take for granted. As a musician, I’ve filled our home with music— Pop hits, old-school favorites, rock and everything in between. I also carve out time to work out and catch the latest Marvel or DC release. But at the end of the day, nothing compares to fatherhood. I know in my heart that adding another child to our family will make us complete.

Man Did I hit the jackpot with Dan! He's an amazing husband, but where he really shines is as a dad. Being a “girl dad” comes naturally to Dan, and his bond with Summer is deep and pure. Every Saturday, they have their “Dadderday” adventures, just the two of them. Whether it's grabbing bagels, hitting the park, or doing crafts at home. It’s their weekly tradition, and seeing how much joy and love he pours into that time together is one of my favorite things.

Dan also has a big heart and a knack for thoughtful surprises. He’s planned more than one surprise party for me and never misses a chance to make a moment memorable. One of my favorite traditions is our Christmas morning treasure hunt, filled with clues and a special gift at the end. It’s just who he is, someone who notices the little things, makes people feel loved, and gives his whole heart to his family. Summer and I are so lucky to have him.

Summer is our spunky, creative, and caring 5-year-old who fills every room with laughter, imagination, and just the right amount of sass. She loves animals, dancing, and playing “sisters and mommies” with her friends, always taking the lead with a big heart and even bigger ideas. She talks about becoming a big sister all the time, and we know she’s going to be gentle, nurturing, and so proud. We can’t wait to watch her share her world.

We feel so fortunate to live in beautiful Southern California, where the sunshine and warm weather keep us active and outdoors all year long. Our family loves exploring local farmers markets, visiting the zoo, berry picking in the spring, and pumpkin patches in the fall. We spend a lot of time with our dog, Indy — a beagle-boxer mix we've had for ten years. He's the perfect blend of playful and cuddly. He loves chasing balls and then curling up for hours of snuggles. He’s truly the best! Giving back is important to our family, whether it's supporting local shelters and rescues or packing lunches for the homeless. Our daughter Summer is always involved, learning the value of compassion and service from an early age. Our neighborhood feels like a true village. The kids play outside daily — riding bikes, drawing with chalk, or taking long walks to stretch bedtime — while the parents connect nearby. Holidays here are pure magic, from block-wide Halloween parties with hundreds of trick-or-treaters to festive Christmas light strolls with hot cocoa in hand. It’s a warm, welcoming place full of friendship, tradition, and community. We couldn’t be happier raising our family here.

We’re known for hosting unforgettable gatherings and being the neighborhood’s favorite hangout. From lively BBQs and sunny pool days to cozy movie nights and epic game nights, our home is always full of laughter. We also love hosting festive holiday traditions, like our Christmas Eve pajama party and Halloween pre-party. Creating a warm, inclusive community matters deeply to us, and we hope that spirit carries into the way we parent and always make room for others.

We’ve explored incredible places like Egypt, Morocco, Australia, New Zealand, Paris, Spain, India, and so many more. Our dream is to take an African safari with our kids, sparking their sense of travel and teaching them to embrace the moment. Experiencing different cultures, traditions, and ways of life is something we truly value, believing it helps raise well-rounded, open-hearted, and accepting kiddos!

Though our families live on the East Coast, we stay closely connected through frequent visits, FaceTime, and annual trips to the Maryland beaches. Suzanne and her brother Christopher love swapping parenting stories and laughing about their mom’s latest antics, keeping the cousins close. Dan, the youngest of three, is a devoted uncle to his four nieces and nephews and fondly remembers childhood road trips packed with adventure. We both value strong sibling bonds and can’t wait for Summer to experience that connection too.

Dan’s parents, high school sweethearts married for over 50 years, are a beautiful example of lasting love. Suzanne’s dad passed before Summer was born, but his memory lives on through shared stories and traditions. Suzanne is especially close with her mom, Zsa Zsa, who will be moving in with us when she retires next year and is already Summer’s favorite person. We’re also surrounded by a wonderful chosen family of longtime friends who feel like aunts and uncles. Our children will grow up with no shortage of love, support, playmates, and lifelong friends.

Becoming parents has been the greatest gift of our lives!

Although we come from very different childhoods and family structures, we've found common ground in the values and intentions that guide us as parents. We strike a balance between being structured and spontaneous, planning when it matters and going with the flow when life calls for it.

We want you to know that your child would be welcomed into a happy, loving home. We continue to stay in touch with our surrogate, sharing updates, photos, and messages. It’s important to us to honor every part of this journey.

We understand that these kinds of arrangements can be complex, which is why we approach everything with honesty, open communication, and a deep respect for everyone involved. From the very beginning, we want to make this promise: to love your child unconditionally, to raise them with kindness and respect, and to make sure they never go to bed without knowing they hung the moon!

on us. We know in our hearts that we are meant to be a family of four. Summer is meant to be a sister, and we are meant to grow our hearts even bigger. When we think about the future, our eyes fill with tears of happiness and hope. We imagine our children facing life’s challenges and triumphs side by side—as siblings, as best friends, as each other’s home base. We want you to know that you will always be part of our story.
