Becoming parents is something we have both dreamed of long before we met each other, and it is a hope we now share together. Long before we met, we each dreamed of having a family and raising children. Early in our relationship, we talked about that shared hope, and after getting married and settling into our home, we began trying to grow our family. Along the way, we faced challenges with infertility. One of Nancy’s cousins started their family via adoption which also inspired us to take this path to starting our family. Adoption has become a path that fills us with hope and excitement as we look forward becoming parents. We are surrounded by a loving and supportive family and close friends who are eager to welcome a child into our lives. We know that our future child will be cherished not only by us, but by a community of people who will love and support them for a lifetime.

We first crossed paths through a local hiking group and occasionally saw each other at social events, but it wasn’t until a potluck at a mutual friend’s home where we truly connected. A few weeks later, we went on our first date where we hiked at a local state park followed by lunch and great conversation, and the rest is history. After a year of dating, we were married by a close friend in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, surrounded by love and the people closest to us. Today, our life is filled with hiking, cooking, home projects, trivia nights with friends, and traveling whenever we can. At the heart of it all, we are best friends and partners. We feel incredibly grateful for the life we’ve built and look forward to sharing that same love, stability, and happiness with a child.

We live a pretty full, happy life, and a lot of it is centered around people and experiences. We love spending time with our friends and their kids—those easy, joyful moments hanging out, sharing meals, and just being together mean a lot to us. We also try to give back when we can and enjoy volunteering as a way to stay connected to our community.

We both love to travel. Some of our favorite trips are to national parks—hiking, taking in the views, and just slowing down to appreciate nature. We also love traveling internationally and experiencing different cultures, food, and ways of life. Those experiences have shaped who we are and how we see the world.

At home, we enjoy the quieter side of life too. We both love to read and often unwind with books or by working on puzzles together. We like having friends over, cooking, laughing, and creating a warm, welcoming space. David especially loves to grill, and cooking together is something we truly enjoy.

We both love to dance—even if David is still working on his skills—and we try not to take ourselves too seriously. Every now and then, we’ll relax with a video game, just for fun.

Overall, we try to keep our life balanced—full of connection, laughter, and meaningful moments, both big and small.

Nancy is an extraordinary woman with a warm heart and a beautiful spirit. She is a woman of the world growing up in Dubai, India, the US. She brings joy and creativity into everyday life—whether she’s cooking a thoughtful meal, spending time gardening or learning the piano. Beyond her many talents, what truly defines her is her kindness. She naturally cares for those around her, always putting others first with compassion and empathy.

She has a bright and curious mind, and she genuinely enjoys solving complex problems. At the same time, she finds meaningful ways to give back, regularly volunteering through her church and supporting her community. Nancy also loves spending time in nature, where she finds peace and renewal.

Most of all, Nancy has an incredible capacity for love. She is nurturing, patient, and deeply committed to helping others grow and thrive. She will be a wonderful mother—one who will raise a child with warmth, guidance, and a strong sense of compassion.

David is someone with a really big heart. He grew up in Boston, spent time in Denver, and loves living in warmer climates where there is rarely snow. He cares deeply about the people in his life and shows it in the way he’s always there—steady, committed, and fully present.

He loves being outside and has this natural curiosity about the world, like he’s always excited to see what’s around the next corner. At home, he’s the kind of person who’s always working on something—fixing, building, or creating—because he genuinely loves turning a house into a warm, welcoming place.

Being around family and friends means a lot to him. He’s incredibly empathetic and has a nurturing side that comes through in how he listens and supports others. At the same time, he’s also really funny—goofy in a way that makes people feel at ease—and he’s usually the one making everyone laugh. More than anything, David just truly cares about people. He would be a kind, patient, and devoted father.

We live in a 5 bedroom home with a spacious backyard that we are in the process of converting into our little oasis. We both love the outdoors and are working on building our home garden where we hope to grow some vegetables for healthy eating. Our neighborhood is a close-knit, family-friendly suburban neighborhood where kids are always outside playing and neighbors hang out together. Our neighborhood also offers community events for kids such as a end of school year party and a Halloween party. It’s the kind of place where you feel a real sense of community and belonging.

Our home is surrounded by trees, so it’s peaceful and quiet, like a little retreat from the busyness of everyday life. At the same time, we live in a suburb of Atlanta not far from the city and zoned to some of the best public schools in our state. There are also plenty of opportunities to enjoy parks with playgrounds, cultural events, museums, and experiences as a family. Our home is located very close to the local river which is designated a national recreational area and offers lots of hiking trails and opportunities to go kayaking or canoeing.

We have three cats: Sammy, Toby and Riley. Sammy is a Lynx pointe Siamese who is a velcro kitty and loves attention from the neighborhood kids when they stop by. Toby is our sweet gray tabby who loves food and enjoys cuddles with Nancy. Riley is our medium haired gray cat who is sweet and loves cuddling with David. We know they will all be very sweet and loving towards our future child.

We feel very grateful to have a close, loving extended family. Nancy is especially close with her parents in Florida and her younger brother in the U.K. Even with the distance, they stay deeply involved in our lives through regular calls, messages, and visits. They’ve been so supportive of our decision to adopt and are truly excited to be loving, present grandparents, with her brother looking forward to being a fun, caring uncle.

David’s parents in Boston are also an important part of our lives. We see them each year, and he stays close with his sister in New York and cousins in Colorado and Florida, even though they’re spread across different states. No matter where everyone lives, we make it a priority to stay connected and present in each other’s lives.

We’re also surrounded by a wonderful group of friends who feel like family to us. Our home is often a gathering place, filled with friends we’ve known for years—some with young kids, others who have been part of our lives through many chapters. It’s a warm, supportive community, and we know a child in our lives would be surrounded by a lot of people who care about them deeply.

Christmas has always been a special time for our family, filled with love, laughter, and meaningful traditions. We enjoy choosing thoughtful gifts, sharing holiday meals with family, and baking favorite Christmas desserts together. We look forward to sharing these traditions with our future child and creating a home filled with warmth, belonging, and cherished memories. We can already imagine the joy of watching their eyes light up on Christmas morning and gathering around the table together for a family Christmas dinner.

To us, parenting is the opportunity to love someone with your whole heart and walk beside them through every stage of life. We dream of being the kind of parents who celebrate every achievement, wipe away tears after disappointments, and provide a safe place to land no matter what challenges come their way. We want our child to always know they are deeply loved, completely accepted, and never have to earn our affection.

We hope to encourage their dreams, nurture their unique gifts, and help them grow into a kind, confident, and compassionate person. Faith is an important part of our lives, providing a foundation of love, gratitude, and hope that we look forward to sharing with our family. Above all, we hope our child grows up knowing they are cherished beyond measure, supported through every season of life, and loved exactly as they are. Our greatest joy would be watching them discover who they are meant to be while knowing they always have a family cheering them on every step of the way.
