We haven’t met you yet but we already think the world of you. In choosing this path for you and your baby, you are one of the strongest, most loving people that we can hope to know. We are grateful for your courageous decision and for taking the time to learn more about us. We’ve been together for fifteen years, years full of laughter and love, but the one thing missing all this time was a child to share it with. We are so unbelievably excited to begin the adventure of parenthood because we have so much love to give. We want you to know that if you choose us to parent your child, he or she will always have endless support, champions who fight for their dreams, and a safety net to fall back on. And, our child will always know how your profound love and bravery made us a family.
Hello and Thank You!
Our Life Together
The night we met, Erik guessed Aimie’s birthdate out of thin air, we realized we already had fifty friends in common, and we both had scholarships to the same college at the same time! On our first date, we talked all night and haven’t stopped talking since. Fast forward to more than a decade later, and we still finish each other’s sentences and make up silly songs together every day. We both know the key to our long relationship is laughter, through good times and not so good times. We start each day with a cup of coffee and by walking our dogs in the hills of our neighborhood, full of birds and butterflies and flowers. Erik is the real chef of the household and is lovingly called the King of Breakfast in our family. And, for the rest of the day, Aimie works from home full-time and Erik works from home part-time which means we share a home office and are so lucky we get to see each other more than most couples do each day. And, we know it means we will have even more quality time with our child when he or she arrives.
After a couple years of trying to have a biological child, we realized that adoption has always been a part of our family’s story and was absolutely the best option for us. Over the years, we have learned from our aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents that Family is made from Love, not DNA. We’ve built a very happy life and can’t wait to share it with our child!

Why I Love Aimie, by Erik
I fell head over heels in love with Aimie from our first date. I guessed her birthday out of thin air when we met and had a soccer scholarship that I almost accepted to the same college she had gone to so there was always a sense of destiny that we would meet inevitably. We talked all the night from our first date and have been talking ever since.
Aimie is the most compassionate person I have ever met or will ever meet. She is kindness personified. She also keeps me in constant giggles when I catch her dancing around the house to get ready for the day. I am the luckiest guy in the world to be her husband. Aimie is such a loving care taker, she is always looking for how she can help others. I have watched her care for our friends’ children with such unconditional love. I can’t imagine a better mother.
Aimie is exceptionally intelligent. She loves to problem solve and find ways to create the happiest home possible. She is the sage for our group of friends who all ask her for advice every day. Aimie is also an incredibly brave person. She is not afraid to stand by those she loves no matter what. I am so proud that she has extended her natural compassion in life into an amazing job where she is a champion for philanthropic causes around the world. Being with her each day makes be a better person. She has made me the best man I can be. I fall more in love with Aimie every single day and every single year.
Why I Love Erik, by Aimie
I know everyone thinks this about their partner but Erik is a miraculous man! There is not a human being alive who has met Erik who would not say that he is one of the funniest or most charming people they’ve ever met. He lights up a room with his warmth, humor, and ability to relate with every single person in his path. At our wedding, our Best Man said that Erik’s gift is “relationships” because he makes everyone feel seen, heard, respected, and happier, and it’s just so true. He is a bright, shining light that everyone wants to be around and his sparkling green eyes and smile melt my heart even after so many years together.
Erik is my rock. I’ve never known a better champion for myself, or for others less fortunate or less privileged than himself. I’m consistently in awe of his open mind and open heart; he listens, learns, and constantly seeks to give back and also to improve himself. He is emotionally courageous and a pillar of strength; he never shies away from the hard stuff in life and he lifts his loved ones up when they’re down.
I have always known that he would make an incredible father, and I’ve smiled as I’ve heard dozens of people who know him well say the exact same thing over the years. It is a joy to see him caring for our dogs because of the unending love, patience, playfulness, and commitment he displays every single day. I am overjoyed to know that one day soon I will see him shining his light and exuberant love on our child!
Things We Love To Do
- We love playing games and rotate Game Nights with our friends and family in all of our homes. We have fun with all kinds but have laughed until we cried with Jackbox Games countless times
- Aimie is a musical librarian and creates playlists for each season of the year, Christmas every year, and themed playlists for friends. Aimie has also created playlists for restaurants, bars, galleries and events
- Erik is very involved with the jazz and blues community in Southern California and loves playing and singing with local musicians. He is grateful to carry on America’s unique art form
- Traveling anywhere is great but traveling together with our dogs is our favorite
Home Sweet Home
Aimie was born and raised in Los Angeles and has lived by the beach, in the valley, and in Hollywood, but we call the East Side our home now. Mount Washington is one of LA’s oldest neighborhoods and is always voted one of the best school districts in the state. We live up in the hills with views of the city below us and so much wildlife and nature straight outside our front door. Every time we drive up the hill and leave the city behind, we feel like we are coming home to our own private refuge. Within minutes of us, we have pools, recreation centers, and parks made for families.
Loves Makes a Family
We both grew up in very large families and from the time we met, all of our extended family easily bonded and have so much fun together. Aimie’s parents have been dreaming of becoming grandparents for decades and they are eagerly awaiting a baby they can give their hearts to. And, Erik’s parents have been grandparents to one granddaughter but are “over the moon” to see their family grow more. More than that, we are so lucky that our parents, siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins live nearby and can’t wait to add a new baby to our laughter-filled gatherings.
In addition to family, our friends are the absolute best. We have a really close, loving, silly group of goofballs who have been close for decades. Whether it’s scavenger hunts or game nights or costume parties, our friends bring out the best in us. We also take annual trips to Palm Springs or Big Bear or Santa Barbara, and through it all, we’ve all helped raise each other’s kids, and have seen each other through thick and thin. We affectionately call our group “Love Town” but they truly are our village.
Meet Titus and Osa
It’s not an exaggeration to say that we are a Dog Family and always will be. We are passionate about dog rescue and have placed dozens of strays and shelter dogs over the years into loving homes. We rescued Titus from a shelter almost 10 years ago and Osa came into our lives as a 5 week old puppy at the beginning of 2019.
Titus is more Muppet than dog; he’s the funny old man of the house with wild hair and even though he’s much smaller than Osa, he’s the boss. Osa is the most enthusiastic, curious, and doting kissing machine you’ll ever meet, with a curly tail that never stops wagging. They are gentle and sweet and make us laugh every single day.
