We are Alex & Alex from Toronto, Canada! Along with our sons, Lance & Saul. We want to start by saying that we have an incredible amount of respect for you, no matter what path you choose for your child. We can’t put ourselves in your shoes, but we know it must be so difficult to consider an adoption plan.

We put together this profile to share our story with you. We hope that you will learn about who we are and the love we will give to your child. We thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us. We hope you’ll consider our family as you make this decision for the future of your child.

We’ve always dreamed about building our family through adoption, so it was a dream come true when our sons Lance & Saul joined our family in 2021. We have always wanted 3 children and are ready to grow our family once more.

We have so much love to give another child and can’t wait to dote on them as the baby of our family with two loving older brothers.

We met over 15 years ago while traveling in India. For Alexander, it was love at first sight, for Alexandra... first she had to get past how Alexander showed up late to the airport and nearly forgot his passport! Fortunately, his smile and ability to be calm under pressure won her over. Since then, we’ve been “Alex & Alex” to friends, family, and basically everyone we meet. Since that first trip we have shared our lives: pursuing careers, going to graduate school at Yale and building our family in Toronto.

We still love to travel, and closer to home we love taking long walks or hikes, going to concerts, and checking out new restaurants. We share so much – our values, our love of family, and our commitment to each other. We open one another up to new experiences through our different interests and personalities, and we love how we're able to bring this to our role as parents.

I was born in Ottawa, the capital of Canada, and I grew up in Quebec (the French-speaking part of Canada). I went to Queen’s University and then did my master’s degree at Yale University. For work, I’m a management consultant, working with leaders in some of the largest companies in Canada on complex business problems. I’m now in a leadership position that gives me a lot of flexibility, something very important to me as a parent. I like to stay active with things like Yoga and Pilates and I love interior design. I’m always rearranging our furniture because I find it so fun!

Alex is an incredible mother and I am so excited to grow our family with her. She loves our children so deeply and I love watching how it grows every day. After over a decade together, I find more that I love, respect, and admire about Alex all the time.

She deeply cares about her friends and family and has an incredible ability to understand people. It’s like she can anticipate what someone is going through, and exactly what they need before they do. She’s so supportive of me and I’ve grown so much because of her. She also has a very playful, lighthearted, and funny side. I love all these sides of her!

I grew up in Toronto, went to university here, and then graduate school at Yale in Connecticut. I started my career in the nonprofit world, doing leadership training with high schools, and leading volunteer trips to Kenya, India, and Mexico.

I’m now an entrepreneur, with a fast-growing skin care business that launched in 2020. One reason I decided to become an entrepreneur is to be able to be my own boss and have flexibility for our family – my office is just a 10 minute walk from our house! I’m a very social person so my hobbies aren’t very solitary – I love going to concerts and seeing all kinds of music (I’ve done many music festivals), and I love spending time with friends and family.

The first thing that I noticed about Alex was his laugh. He’s able to find the light side in almost any situation. But he’s also my rock, he’s incredibly supportive of me – and he’s also the person that his friends and family turn to in difficult times for support, the best hugs in the world and a laugh.

Alex loves people – he’s always making new friends and catching up with old ones. While he’s very social and loves to be out and about, he also loves to lose himself in a good book and absolutely loves movies. One thing I love about Alex is just spending time, whether it’s taking a walk, making dinner together, or even just going to the mall.

I love watching Alex being a dad to Saul and Lance. He has such a beautiful, playful energy and does so much for them — and he is an amazing father.

We met traveling, and we feel so fortunate to have traveled the world together! We love it now with our children (despite all the extra luggage). In their first two years we've already traveled coast to coast and internationally. We are so excited to make new experiences around the world a part of our family memories, there is so much to see, do, and learn and we cannot wait to bring that to our children.

Our boys are very active and love doing what we do. They love to cook (and enjoy cleaning almost as much!), to “help” us at the grocery store, and they are willing to try lots of different new foods!

They are taking swimming, soccer, and skating lessons - and there are so many activities in our neighborhood we can’t wait for them to try!

We live in Toronto - one of the most diverse and multicultural cities in the world... and we love to explore all the amazing restaurants and cultural festivals that the city has to offer!

We live in a lovely neighborhood just outside downtown. Our area is very family friendly and many of our close friends and their young children live nearby.

We live in a beautiful 5 bedroom home close to an amazing park that we spend tons of time at! What's incredibly special is that even in this big city, so much of our family lives within a few minutes walk or drive - they love to pop by for visits all the time - and our boys love it even more!

The city also has amazing activities for kids. Lance and Saul love visiting the aquarium and the science centre - next up, visiting the dinosaurs at the local museum!

We love our dogs! We have two mini poodles, Henry (9) and Richard (10). They absolutely love children! They follow Lance and Saul everywhere! They have great patience for all the games that the boys like to play, and will make a great companion to your child.

Lance and Saul are two and a half year old twin boys (Lance is two minutes older than Saul) who joined our family through adoption.

Lance is a sweet, loving boy who sings himself (and his brother!) awake in the morning and to sleep at night. He’s our little dancer, finding the beat at home, in the car, or wherever music is playing when he’s out and about. His smile lights up the room and makes us melt all at the same time - truly like sunshine! Lance is always moving, whether its his scooter or his bike, and when he finally tires himself out, he loves hugs, cuddles, and to sleep!

Saul is our little guy with the twinkle in his eye since the day he was born! He’s always looking for his next adventure and loves trying new things (by himself!). He also loves to learn - and always wants to read one more book!

His energy and curiosity for life is just infectious! He is very kind and caring for other small children that he plays with. We know he’s going to be the ultimate protector for his younger brother or sister!

Alexander is from a large family with 5 siblings and 5 nieces and nephews (4 of them under age 8) who all live within a short drive from us. His mom, Debbie, lives on the very same street as us - less than a minute away! Alexandra’s sister Charlotte lives just 3 blocks away and her Mom moved to Toronto in 2021 to help take care of Lance and Saul. They have an incredibly special, close relationship with her!

We feel incredibly fortunate to have family who have our children in a constant and warm embrace, and we love that our mothers and siblings feel like they can drop by anytime to hang out with our children.

Our family gets together very often - we love hosting brunches on our backyard patio - and because we have a very diverse family (Greek, Filipino, Jamaican, Uruguayan in just Alex’s immediate family) we celebrate so many fun traditions!

We also love to go back to Alex’s hometown in Quebec to visit her big extended family – our favorite tradition is the annual hockey game and bowling tournament at Christmas time.

As adoptive parents, we already have experience with adoption and openness. We feel strongly that it is so important for your child to know about you and understand that you made an adoption plan out of the most incredible expression of love for your child.

We promise to embrace and celebrate your child’s cultural identity and honor every part of their story and family history (like food, events, holidays & much more)! We are building traditions for our family that incorporate and celebrate each of our children’s birth families, creating shared family experiences that each sibling feels a part of.

We have an open relationship with Saul and Lance’s birth family; we are in close contact all the time and consider them part of our family. We would be thrilled if you are interested in an open relationship as well, however we will respect your decision on how you’d like to stay in touch and receive updates on your child throughout their life. We would love to have a close relationship with you and will follow your lead on how you’d like stay connected as your child grows up. We will always be here for you.
