We are Alexis & Andrew and we want nothing more than to build our family by becoming parents through adoption. We truly admire your choice to place your baby for adoption. We know that you want to find the best possible adoptive family for your child, and we hope that family is us.
For more than 10 years, our relationship has been stable, loving, and fun. In this time, we have built a nurturing and joyful environment for a healthy and happy family. Your child will be cherished and supported by two adoring parents, a wonderful extended family, and a strong circle of friends.
Thank you for taking time to read our story and learn more about us.
We love to travel together, with trips around the U.S. as well as Thailand, Italy, Turkey, New Zealand, Mexico, and Tanzania. We’re so excited to share the world with a child, whether it’s camping, visiting historical sites, or meeting people from different cultures.
We’re so happy to have each other, and there’s no one else we would rather spend time with. We grew up just a few miles apart in the same town (we even went to the same summer camp), but we only met online 20 years later! Our first date was at a Spanish restaurant. We felt an immediate connection, and we became a couple very quickly.
In the 11 years we’ve spent together, we’ve talked many times about how much we would love to start a family of our own. While we medically aren’t able to have biological children, we would love and treasure your child with all our hearts.
Our marriage is based on shared values; it feels like there’s no problem we can’t overcome when we work together. We also truly believe in finding joy and possibilities in all moments, big and small. We love big adventures, like trips to foreign countries and home improvement projects, but we also treasure the day-to-day with each other, like cooking dinner and cuddling up to watch a movie.
Alexis grew up playing softball and taking piano lessons, but secretly always wanted to learn martial arts. She discovered Tae Kwon Do as an adult, earned her black belt, and fell in love with teaching the “Tiny Tigers” – a class for 4–6-year-old students.
Andrew has always enjoyed music, sports, and the arts – his childhood was filled with music lessons and team practices. As an adult, he discovered he loved dancing, so he danced several years with a local dance company.
We always have fun together, with activities like roller skating, salsa dancing, backgammon, cooking healthy meals, and telling each other silly jokes.
Andrew is kind, loving, and incredibly fun to be around. My greatest joy has been sharing life with Andrew. He works hard to accomplish his goals, and always strives to be a better version of himself. There doesn’t seem to be a single subject that doesn’t interest him, and he’s unbelievably good at just about everything: making friends, fixing things, playing music and sports, dancing, public speaking, and so much more. He loves to learn, share what he knows, and help people.
After years of watching him interact with children, I know he’ll be an incredible father. He connects with each child based on their unique interests and personalities, whether its playing dolls on the floor together or listening to them talk about their Legos.
Also, for a couple of years now I’ve been his sounding board for all kinds of dad jokes. I think he’s ready to go pro.
Alexis lives her life fearlessly and with incredible passion. She constantly makes big, principled choices and doesn’t look back — like going back to school to finish her degree, taking months off work to care for her sick mother, and changing careers to have a greater positive impact on the world. I love that her heart is so open, particularly for kids and animals. Alexis adores children, and I can’t wait for a child to experience her kindness, playfulness, and enthusiasm for life. She puts 100% into everything she does, from gardening to salsa dancing to planning our next travel adventure.
I’m so grateful for Alexis. She’s my best friend, the first person I tell everything to, and the person whose opinion I value the most. She makes me laugh, makes me think, and supports me in everything I do.
It’s an amazing place for a child to grow up; close to all the kid-friendly, culturally-rich experiences of the San Francisco Bay Area, but with the lovely community feel of a mid-sized town. We own a town-home in a woodsy neighborhood with regular sightings of deer, turkeys, squirrels, and even an occasional fox!
We’re one block from a newly-rebuilt elementary school (we can hear the kids playing at recess!) and only a 10 minute drive from Andrew’s parents. There are also a great variety of parks and trails (and even a nature center) within walking distance.
Finally, we love working on our house together: creating a lovely garden patio where we can sit and read during the warmer months, building a mirrored dance room so we can practice together, or arranging our cozy offices to do our jobs from home.
In addition to having a great group of friends in the area, we are fortunate all our close family members live nearby. Both sides of the family love kids of all ages, and will be very engaged in our future children’s lives.
Andrew’s parents are both retired teachers who love traveling and hosting events for friends and family. His sister is a professional writer and a fantastic designer. Alexis’s grandparents and her sister live just a short drive away. Her sons (our nephews) love playing baseball, riding dirt bikes, and spending time at our house playing games and drinking hot cocoa.
In raising children of our own, we are excited to pass along many family traditions: holiday celebrations with the family, duets on the piano, singing on road trips, and spontaneous living room dancing.
We cherish the idea of introducing our child to activities we love – basketball, tae kwon do, reading, hiking, gardening, volunteering – and also fully supporting them trying something that’s new to the entire family!
Alexis found her dream job: Director of Finance for 36 charter schools. She helps them deliver the best education possible to thousands of low-income students across California.
Andrew started his own company this year with a close friend. He loves building amazing new products to improve peoples’ lives.
Working from home is great: Sneaking out together for lunch, hearing about each others’ days, and taking a quick walk in between meetings. Even better, we’ll both be able to work from home while raising a family.
Thank you for taking the time to consider us. We hope this profile gave you a glimpse of the loving home we wish to create with your child.
We look forward to learning more about you.
