Hello! We are Ryan and Amy from sunny Southern California. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We have always dreamed of being parents and raising a family in a warm, supportive and loving home.
Dear Birth Mother...
As a family, we look forward to...
- Traveling to new places and experiencing new things
- Going to the beach and building sandcastles
- Visiting our family and friends in Kansas for the holidays
- Going to Disneyland and riding everything we can in one day
- Throwing really fun birthday parties
Our Story
We both grew up in the same small town in Kansas. We went to the same school and knew each other but didn’t really get to know each other until college. Ryan came up to my sister and I while shopping at the mall to chat and the rest is history. We somewhat had the same circle of friends and already knew each other’s families. We were married in 2008 and feel like we’ve both married our best friend.
We’ve lived in Southern California for 16 years and are loving every minute of it! We love that there is always something to do and places to go. We’ve been to many concerts, festivals, shows, amusement parks and more!
Our Adventures and Travels
We both love to travel and our vacations are always memorable. We honeymooned in Jose del Cabo, Mexico. We took a trip to Ireland and stayed in a castle and roamed the countryside. We’ve also visited Washington and Oregon, they are such beautiful states. A nearby fun trip is Palm Springs. It’s warm and pretty laid back. They have an awesome Farmer’s Market downtown every week and we really enjoy that and chilling at the pool.
About Amy, by Amy
I grew up in a small town in Kansas with my older sister and parents. I am still close with childhood friends and we call, text and send letters and cards. After college we packed up and drove out to sunny California so that I could pursue an acting career! I’ve worked on many movies, TV shows, student films and even music videos. While pursuing acting I had a solid part-time job as an accounting assistant in West Los Angeles, and now I’ve been there 15 years! I am so blessed to be able to work from home full-time. This means I have a very lenient schedule and can work when I have the time.
I have known my whole life that I wanted to have children. I love kids so much I am the godmother of three! I can’t wait to sing the same song to my child that my mom used to sing to me in the morning to wake me up, or make their favorite snacks, or read them a bedtime story.

More About Amy, by Ryan
Amy was born to be a nurturing and loving mother. I’ve never met a more caring, sweet and compassionate person. I see it in how she cares for me, each of her family members, nieces, nephews and friends. Amy keeps our house full with music every day, cooking great meals (her lasagna roll-ups are next-level amazing, not to mention her chili), planning activities outdoors, taking our dog Charlie for a walk through our neighborhood or having a spontaneous game night, just for fun. I know our child will have an amazing teacher in Amy as I know she can’t wait to introduce them to music, art, nature, games and most importantly just being a loving parent.
About Ryan, by Ryan
I grew up in a small Kansas town before relocating to California with my wife, Amy, after college. I am a business owner of a successful environmental testing company. Being my own boss gives me a ton of flexibility to be present for family or personal events. Growing up, my parents were always there for all of my events and it meant the world to me. I really feel that growing up in a small town taught me so much about love, being a family, and how to be a great parent. I learned so much from my parents, I can’t wait to be a dad myself and teach our child everything my parents taught me. I want our child to have all the same experiences I had growing up and become whomever and whatever they choose to be, all while being loved and cheered on by a solid family support system. I can't wait to share our life and life experiences with a child.

More About Ryan, by Amy
Ryan is one of the kindest, funniest and sincere people you could ever meet. He is fiercely devoted to his family and will always go out of his way to make sure they feel loved. He works hard and is good at everything he does. He knows how to fix the yard sprinklers if they’re broken, or how to replace the garbage disposal when it breaks. He takes care of me when I’m sick and makes me feel so very special on my birthday and our anniversaries. He makes the best cinnamon banana pancakes. He is so great with kids, they always adore him. It gives me butterflies in my stomach imagining Ryan taking his child fishing or camping or teaching them to boogie board at the beach.
Our Home
We live in a gated community in what is continuously rated one of the safes cities in America, Santa Clarita, California. We have so many parks, walking trails and fun activities put on by the town like concerts in the Park or the annual 4th of July Parade. It’s only a short drive away from beaches, lakes, mountains and Los Angeles. So we get the best of both worlds. A home in a lovely community with a big back yard, friendly neighbors and community swimming pools, yet the city is just a short drive away. We can see Six Flags Magic Mountain from our house! We have an orange tree that our whole family is crazy for. They beg for us to ship them oranges and we have fun making fresh-squeezed orange juice sometimes.
There is a top-rated elementary school tucked away right in our neighborhood that we can take walking paths to and from. It’s one of the reasons we bought this home. We’ve envisioned walking our children to and from school more times than we can count.
Our Favorite Things to Do as a Couple
- Go on long walks as the sun sets
- Feed our Hummingbirds in the back yard
- Cheer for the Wichita State Shockers Men’s Basketball team. Go Shox!
- Have a pizza and a movie night snuggled on the couch with our dogs
- Go on a weekend trip to Palm Springs
- Having game nights. We love playing everything from board games to backyard games like cornhole and badminton.
Meet Our Loved Ones
Our moms live in Kansas but we frequently fly them out or go home to visit. We truly have the best moms in the world and they LOVE being Grandmas. Amy’s sister and family live in Kansas as well and Ryan’s brother and family live in our neighboring state Nevada.
Amy’s father lives very close, within walking distance and he will be the best Grandpa. He loves going on walks or bike rides and making art. He usually beats us at dominoes. Ryan also has an aunt and cousins about an hour away in Upland, California. Our children will have cousins and relatives from Florida to California.
Our Dogs
We have two rescue dogs, Charlie and Lily. Lily is a senior dog and she makes us laugh every day and is the biggest protector we’ve ever had. She stands guard if we’re ever in the shower. She loves nothing more than sunbathing during the day and cuddles on the couch in the evening.
Charlie is so loving, smart and playful. We take her on walks every day and play with her. We would love to walk her along with a stroller through our beautiful neighborhood. She knows lots of tricks and commands and is the sweetest dog. She will be a very good playmate and guardian to our children.
We Promise To...
- Shower your child with so much love
- Teach them kindness and compassion
- Always celebrate the big things and the little things, like learning to tie shoes or ride a bike, a good report card or birthdays!
- Always end the night with a bedtime story
- Give our child every opportunity in the world to grow and learn and experience new things
- Always show support and understanding, no matter what
