Dear Birth Mother, Thank you for considering us as adoptive parents. We hope this profile book gives you a glimpse into our lives – full of love for each other, family, friends, adventure, and laughter. At a time when you are facing many decisions, we hope you know how much we respect and support your choices, whatever they end up being. We chose AdoptHelp because it seems as though they will do the same, now and after placement, if that is the direction you choose to take. We are sending you love and strength as you figure out the best course of action for you. Thank you.
Your child will be loved, supported, encouraged, and respected. We plan to show your child they are loved with our presence, not presents. We will show your child from the very beginning that they are safe and that we will always meet their needs. We will guide them in finding their passions and help them pursue those. We will encourage them to step outside their comfort zone and challenge themselves. We will assist them to become happy, healthy, and productive adults.
Our adventure started in 2009. By 2012, a bike ride to the river ended with a ring on my finger. A year later we tied the knot on an island beach in South Carolina. I am originally from Michigan, and Brady is from upstate New York and the suburbs of Boston. Neither of us imagined that we would build a life together in South Carolina. Brady thought he would live in DC and I planned to join the Peace Corps. We are so grateful for the direction that life has taken us.
We have close friends that adopted in February 2014. They have been incredibly helpful in guiding us through the process and sharing their experience.
I have known since I was 14 that I wouldn’t be able to conceive naturally. After having been together for nearly 7 years, we are finally ready to welcome a child into our home to love and cherish forever.
During our free time, we love to watch movies (documentaries, comedies, dramas), go for walks with our pup, get our hands dirty in the garden, and cook up a storm. Brady attends many political events, and Angie has a wonderful group of girlfriends that she spends time with through book club, brunch, and an ongoing group text message chain. At least six of our close friends have babies and toddlers, so we are excited to introduce our child to all their instant new friends.
Meet Angie through Brady’s eyes:
Angie is one of the strongest and kindest women you’ll ever meet. She is always up for adventures and likes to explore new places. She is someone who always rises to the occasion and is ready to meet any challenge. She is always cracking jokes and brings a smile with her no matter where we go or who we are with.
Angie is committed to helping others in a very direct and thoughtful manner. When she got out of college she took two years of her life and worked on various volunteer projects through Americorps. I’m inspired by her passion to help people every day.
She is already an incredible aunt and loves to play and hang out with her nieces and nephew when we visit. She encourages kids to be silly. She is protective of those she loves and will be a wonderful mother – I’m positive of that.
Angie works at a software company and will have flexibility to work from home. We both have very generous paid vacation time and plan to use every bit of it to spend time together.
Meet Brady through Angie’s eyes
Brady is motivated to make the world a better place. He worked to make our city smoke-free; he is on a committee to conserve more green space in the city. He works tirelessly to elect good and honest leaders to our city and state offices. He loves connecting people – whether it’s a friend looking for a good babysitter, or a colleague that needs a realtor – Brady will do everything he can to get people together.
He loves mini golf, Monopoly, trying new restaurants, and traveling. He loves music of nearly all kinds – he has seen the Drive-By Truckers in concert 20 times. He’s seen a wide range of artists, from Pearl Jam to Indigo Girls to Jay-Z, and just about everything in between. If there is a concert in the area, chances are good that Brady is getting tickets.
Brady is great with kids. He climbs on the jungle gym with my nephew and plans zoo trips with my nieces. He’s excited to do things with our child – camping, teaching them to swim, and reading our favorite childhood books at night. He’s already started researching the schools in our area to make sure that our child gets the best education available. I can’t wait to watch him become a father.
Brady works for a very small investment firm that helps people invest in alternative energy like solar and wind. He has an extremely flexible schedule and plans to be at home with the baby in the afternoons.

We Love to Travel!
Traveling is a high priority for our family – we find it exhilarating to get out of our comfort zones and experience different cultures and languages. Between the both of us, we have been to 20 different countries. Angie went backpacking through Europe after college, and Brady studied in Cuba during college. Both of us are drawn to Central and South America. We can’t wait to explore the world through the eyes of a child.
Meet Our Family
Angie’s Family: Angie’s family is BIG with 16 aunts and uncles and 24 cousins! They mostly live in Michigan and Ohio, and we visit once a year. Angie has 3 brothers. Two of them have children of their own, ranging in age from 4 to 10. Angie’s dad and stepmom have a pool so we spend nearly every night on their deck when we visit. Angie’s mom lives in a rural area with chickens and a big garden so we spend a lot of time outside there. Both sets of parents love to cook big Midwestern meals, but have graciously figured out ways to accommodate Angie’s vegetarianism (but love stuffing Brady full of meatloaf, steak, and chicken).
Brady’s Family: Brady’s family is small but has lots of love! Brady has one brother named Evan who is his best friend. Evan is outdoorsy and can’t wait to take his niece or nephew camping. His parents live 15 minutes away and are over the moon for a grandchild. We have dinner every Sunday at their house. Brady’s extended family lives in upstate New York and western Canada, and we try to see them every year, and keep in touch via email and social media in between. They love playing board games and cooking big homemade healthy meals together. Several family members are vegetarian or vegan and love finding new tasty recipes to share.
Scout is a rescue dog that we were lucky enough to have join our family in April 2014. He loves cuddling, napping, squeaky toys, car rides, and is extremely tolerant of being dressed up and of children poking and tugging at him. He doesn’t love having his picture taken, but we can’t help ourselves, and our phones are loaded with entirely too many photos of him and his silly faces.
We Absolutely Love Our Home and Community!
We bought our home in South Carolina in 2013. We have been making it our own with bright colors and items we’ve collected from our travels, as well as shelves of books. We enjoy dance parties in the kitchen with Scout, eating pancakes on Sundays around the kitchen island, and having ping pong tournaments in the garage.
There is a community garden across the street where there are concerts, potlucks, and movies. Within walking distance are funky restaurants and thrift stores. We love the walking and biking paths nearby, and go to as many local festivals as possible.
Our city has a great baseball team and stadium in town. We have a blast cheering for them, as well as our city’s hockey, soccer, and college basketball teams.
Things We Love About Our Community
Outdoor opportunities like 5k races, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, beaches, and biking
Cultural Opportunities like live music, performance art, and art galleries
Child-friendly activities like an aquarium, children’s museum, and parks.
We will teach our child:

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering us for such a monumental and important responsibility. There is nothing we will take more seriously. This child will be so, so loved. We promise every day to care for this baby, to guide them, and to provide support to allow this child to grow into who they were meant to be.
