Hello from the Netherlands! We are Pablo and Anika, a passionate, loving and caring couple, with a diverse background (Argentina, Belgium, Netherlands, and Bosnia.)

We thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We cannot imagine how difficult this decision must be and are truly grateful for considering us as adoptive parents for your child.

We have known that we wanted to be parents from the first day we met 12 years ago. The main reason we have chosen to adopt in the USA is that the process is very transparent and thoughtful of the birth mother. We believe it is important for the child to have a connection with their origins. Depending on your preferences we would be open to remain in contact
after the adoption has taken place.

We hope this profile helps you to get to know us a little bit better while showing our deep love for each other and our dream of becoming parents. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you once more and welcome to our life.

A long time ago (12 years) in a galaxy far, far away (Amsterdam) we met online and boy there were some fireworks right away. After exchanging emails for a week in which we played a game asking each other silly questions we decided to meet for a date. It was glorious!

We talked about shared interests such as travelling, reading and we laughed quite a bit. After that there was no doubt in our minds that we were meant for each other. The feeling was so strong that we ended up living together after just two months. This is now 12 years ago, the start of our adventure together and plans for the future. Looking back this was the best choice we could have made.

In one of our first conversations, we discussed our desire to have children. Sometimes life does not go as planned but we both have positive mindsets and we feel that adoption is the perfect way to fulfill our dreams. We are looking forward to grow our family and to share our love with a tiny person.

Pablo is funny, caring and reliable. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and moved to Belgium with his family when he was 8 years old. He studied literature and works as an executive director at Comcast. He knows about many things so never bet against him regarding some obscure trivia because he is usually right. He loves reading, watching movies, and enjoys collecting things (cards, books, and stamps). Pablo is always there for the people he loves and is fiercely family oriented.

He’s the Godfather of his best friend’s first-born daughter named Lorna. They have lots of fun together when she visits. When Lorna is sad Pablo always knows how to calm her using humor or with his calm and caring attitude. For example during a sleepover we went to the zoo together and Lorna threw a tantrum because she wanted to take her suitcase into the zoo. Pablo calmly sat down beside her and told her she could pick something from the suitcase to bring with her, which she did and resulted in us having a wonderful day at the zoo. Just like with Lorna, Pablo is looking forward to have lots of fun with his child, teaching them to play ping pong and play lots of games.

Pablo works as a procurement executive at an American cable company (Comcast) and often works from home. We are both passionate about our jobs and the financial stability they provide.

Anika is a caring, kind, and happy-go-lucky person with a touch of quirkiness. She tries to enjoy life to the maximum and almost never has a bad day. Even when things are difficult, she will make the best of things and focus on the positive. In life one of the things she enjoys the most is to take care of others – something she can really accomplish through her work as a child psychologist. Fairness is really important to her. She will jump to action if she feels someone else is treated unfairly. Anika enjoys having people over and cooking for them, really taking care that her guests feel at home (and leave with a full belly). She loves children, likes to hang out with her best friend's daughter Hannah and loves to read to her. She collected many children's books and she looks forward to reading them to our future child.

Anika is a child psychologist and university professor. In her work Anika helps many parents and young children who struggle with emotional problems and coaches them in overcoming these problems.

We live in the Netherlands which is “one of the happiest countries in the world”, according to the world happiness report by the United Nations.

One of the things we especially like about the Netherlands is that everyone has access to good schools and health care. We live in a beautiful historical town in an amazing house with a garden from the 17th century, close to where the famous Dutch painter Rembrandt was born.

In our house we love to spend time in our living room and cooking and dining area. We have so many books (we love them) that we have created a library room in our house, and we enjoy to spend time there, reading and listening to music.

Our small town has lots of trees and is crisscrossed by tiny canals. Near us there are playgrounds, schools and other families with children.

We are friends with our neighbors and their young children. The Netherlands is an open-minded diverse society where inclusion is important. For example our neighbors on the one side are Dutch and Bulgarian, while our neighbors on the other side are Irish. This is also true of our own family, with Pablo being born in Argentina (with Spanish, Polish, Russian and Ukrainian heritage) and Anika having Dutch and Bosnian roots.

We have a cat who is a very important part of our family. His name is BooBoo, a name that Pablo came up with when he was a young child. We nicknamed the cat Tiny because he is really small but has lots of personality. He comes to greet us in the morning and when we get home from work. He loves to cuddle and purrs very loudly.

We strongly believe that you can build your own big family by adding special people as you meet them. Pablo’s parents, brother and sister-in-law are incredibly important in our lives. Pablo and his brother speak Spanish with their parents if they are alone and we speak Dutch when Anika and the girlfriend of Pablo’s brother are present. Pablo’s parents are medical doctors now retired looking forward to spending many hours with their grandchild.

Anika was raised by a single mom who has passed away. Her two best friends, that she has known for more than 15 years have become sisters over time and they and their partners and children are an important part of our family. Through our friends we get to enjoy other cultures such as Carribean, South East Asian, Hindu and Latin American, adding to our already richly diverse background (Argentine, Bosnian, Dutch and Belgian). What a fantastic mix! Pablo’s best friend and his partner, who made us Godparents for their first-born daughter are another important part of our big family with many visits and sleepovers with their three daughters.

Pablo’s extended family lives in Argentina. With all the modern technology it is easy to stay in contact with all the aunts, uncles, and cousins. Anika speaks Dutch, English, German and Bosnian. Pablo speaks Spanish, Dutch, English and French. We would love for our child to speak Dutch, Spanish and English.

Anika likes adventure! Going on vacations without a pre-established plan leaving things to chance. Pablo on the other hand likes to relax in a single place where he can get to know the locals and have chats with them in the local language. To keep everyone happy we tend to alternate vacations between these two flavors resulting in very varied memories.

We think positivity, respect and inclusiveness are important when raising a child. We want to provide our child a broad range of experiences so that they can grow into the person they want to be, always counting on our support. In order to make the right life choices we think being an independent thinker is important. We would love to teach our child many things while also spending plenty of time just having fun and enjoying life. Next to this we want our child to feel part of a loving family, always supporting each other through good and bad times. We strongly believe that it is important for a child to understand their history and origins. We will make sure to share their story with them and if you as a birth mother choose to remain involved we would happily support that.
