Hello we’re Ashleigh and Peter from Metairie, Louisiana. We live right outside New Orleans, which has a diverse culture, rich history, and the best food. We have four dogs, four cats and lots of unconditional love. We enjoy going to local music festivals, football games, and parades. We also get together with Peter's grown children and their spouses every month for a potluck meal and card games. In our most recent adventure, we opened our home to foster children who we love like they're our own! We thank you for taking some time to get to know us. We would love to learn more about you and support you and your child through this journey.

We met later in life and started talking about growing our family shortly after we got married. Ashleigh has always wanted to be a mom, but wasn't successful even with fertility treatment. Peter's children from his first marriage are grown and have lives of their own. We have energy, time, resources and love. We would love to share this with your child through adoption.

We met at our 25th high school reunion. We didn’t know each other in High School because Peter was very shy and joined Quiz Bowl while Ashleigh was a social butterfly on Drill and Dance Teams. Things between us clicked at the reunion. We fell in love and got married! Peter is still a geek but much more social thanks to Ashleigh’s larger than life personality. Our marriage is based on open, honest communication and the knowledge that we're strongest when we work together. We love spending time with family for a monthly potluck where we catch up with each other and play board and card games. We enjoy vacations with friends and family and try to have a cruise, Disney Trip, or overseas holiday once a year. We can promise your child a life full of adventure!

Having been born in New Orleans, La, I grew up in the suburb of Kenner. My father was a sports writer for the New Orleans newspaper and my mom was a school teacher. I am an only child, but I had 3 foster siblings when I was in elementary school. I was taught to love others and see the best in everyone. I am an active member of a local dance group that performs during parades and serves the community year round. I also love decorating for the holidays. Since I was a little girl, I have always dreamed of being a mother. I was married to my first husband in my late twenties, but my dream was delayed. Instead I turned my affection towards dogs and cats. My interest in being a mother was rekindled when I married Peter and observed his relationship with his children. After much discussion, we decided that we wanted to have a family of our own through adoption.

Ashleigh is the most caring and empathetic person I've ever met. She loves and feels with her whole heart! She welcomed my grown kids and their spouses into her life with open arms. She has shown me unconditional support even when I'm stressed and tired. She makes friends easily and I can always find her in a store cutting up and laughing with folks she just met. I have watched her blossom taking care of our foster children. She is very nurturing and loves talking to the children, singing nursery rhymes, and singing silly songs that we make up just to make the babies smile.

Hello, I'm Peter. I was born in Tennessee, but grew up in Kenner, LA which is right outside of New Orleans. As a child I loved playing with Lego's which I could use to build what I imagined. I've always enjoyed learning how things work and figuring out how to fix things. This is why I find my current job as a Mechanical Engineer so rewarding. In my off-time I enjoy reading, playing computer games and fixing things around the house. I also still build with Legos! I married my first wife right out of High School and we had two beautiful children. Being a father has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I watched my son and daughter grow and taught them what they needed to thrive as happy healthy adults. I showed them unconditional love and helped them learn from their mistakes. My dream is to share this experience with Ashleigh through adoption.

Peter is my rock. He keeps me grounded. His personality is more down to earth than mine, but we mesh perfectly together. He is always in protector mode when we go places. Peter always watches out for me, our foster kids, and friends. He has the biggest heart towards people and animals. I have known him to stop on the side of the road to change a stranger’s tire or to pick up a kitten from the side of the interstate. Peter is thorough and concise and will research all aspects of a situation before making an informed decision. In addition, he is an amazing cook and will spend spare time coming up with new recipes.

We love to travel. Ashleigh enjoyed taking Peter on his first trip to Disney where we tried foods from around the world and got to be kids again. We love visiting museums on vacation. Peter especially loves seeing the inner workings of anything mechanical like London's Tower Bridge and Scotland's Hydroelectric Dams. Every summer we get together with Peter's children and their spouses and take a trip to the beach a few hours away. We would love to share these adventures with your child. When we're at home Peter enjoys cooking and gaming on the computer. Ashleigh is very busy with her dance group. Her group marches in Mardi Gras and seasonal parades. The dance team is also busy with community service like blood drives, Halloween costume drives, and food drives. We both believe in giving back to the community we grew up in.

We live in a single family home in the middle of the New Orleans suburbs. Our neighborhood has families from various countries and cultures. We see children riding bicycles and playing outside until the sun goes down. There's always something happening in New Orleans! Our favorite local festivals are Jazz Fest, Fried Chicken Fest, and Mardi Gras. The Audubon Zoo, Aquarium and Insectarium are fantastic places to bring the little ones. We are also home to the World War II museum, the New Orleans Children's Museum and the historic French Quarter. Morning Call coffee stand, established 1870, is our favorite spot to have coffee, eat breakfast and catch up with friends and family. We love to decorate our home for the various holidays, like Mardi Gras, Easter, Halloween and Christmas. We even decorate for Football. We have boxes of new and traditional decorations in the attic and are always looking to add to our collection. Decorating together is a way to share joy for holidays with a child.

We have four dogs and four cats, mostly rescues. We love our rescued fur babies! Olive is the queen. Our dog Bree thinks she's a lap cat and kitten Loki thinks she's a puppy dog. Patches only comes out to snuggle with Peter. Ebben loves his Granny. Ashleigh has had 16 year old Toby since he was a puppy. Zoe was found on the highway as a kitten and has grown into playful beauty. We want all the animals to have happy healthy lives while they're with us!

We are part of a Foster and Adoptive Parent support group which is a big part of their extended family. We meet twice a month for the parents to talk and kids to play. We also share life events like kid's birthday parties and holidays. Ashleigh's Dance Team is also a wonderful sisterhood that has supported us through our Foster Care journey. Any child in this house has two dozen "aunties" who love to shower the little ones with attention.

We have a small group of high school friends that we get together with monthly for lunch or dinner. They are excited about our adoption journey and they can not wait to help and encourage us along the way. Our close friends that we often vacation to Disney with can not wait to add a little one to the Disney adventures. "Uncle Freddie and Aunt Sharon" are ready to show this little one the Disney ropes.

We have an annual "Day after Thanksgiving" meal with our adult children. This way no one has to rush and eat in order to get to the in-laws house. We spend Black Friday having a smoked turkey and sides from our favorite barbecue spot instead of fighting the crowds out shopping.

Our parenting style revolves around demonstrating positive behavior so that a child can learn from our example. We are a family that shows unconditional love to each other so your child will feel loved and can share that love with others. We talk about our feelings and your child will know they can say anything and we will be there for them. We believe in actively talking and engaging with children from birth onward. Rather than handing a child a tablet or computer screen we believe in interacting with them by reading together, playing make believe, taking walks outside, or simply talking about our day. We promise to love your child for who they are. We promise to give them the best education available and to support their choices. We feel an open adoption would allow us to share the experience of parenting with you.
