Choose a Family

Casey and Mariangela

Aloha! We are Casey and Mariángela from Hawai’i!

There aren’t really words to describe the appreciation and admiration we have for you. Mahalo and muchas gracias are familiar ways we can begin to say “thank you” for taking the first step in the most courageous decision you will ever make. Your child’s story begins with your bravery and it is with hearts full of love and faith that we hope it continues with us.

We want nothing more than to build our family by becoming parents through adoption. We have already been blessed with a solid marriage, a beautiful home, stable careers, and the best family and friends we could ever ask for. After years of trying to conceive unsuccessfully, we are committed to adoption as a path to becoming parents.

By creating this profile we hope to show you who we are, so you may feel assured that your child will be in a nurturing environment with parents who love and respect each other, and extended families that are close, supportive, and have strong values.

Our Story: Who would have thought that a girl born and raised in Peru would receive a Fulbright Scholarship to teach in the U.S. and meet her soulmate in Hawaiʻi? Who would have thought that this island boy would love her so much that he’d leave Hawaiʻi and follow her to Peru after just a year together? Our love for each other has grown deeper and wider than the ocean and thousands of miles that once separated us.

We have been married for eight years and been uniquely married twice to each other! The first time was in 2008 on the slopes of Mt. Haleakala, a volcanic crater on Mauʻi, and the second time was in Mariángela’s hometown in northern Peru in 2015.

We are both teachers who truly enjoy working with kids. Both of us have advanced degrees and Casey is currently completing his doctorate program. We are lifelong learners and believe the world is a classroom.

Meet Our Families

Mariángela: I was born and raised in a small city in northern Peru. My parents have been married for 43 years and they started dating when my mom was a junior in high school. My sister, Tatiana, and her boyfriend have a two-year-old girl. My other sister, Francis, and her husband have a five-year-old girl and a three-year-old boy. My brother, Victor, is single. From our parents we learned that there is nothing more important than family, and that nothing can destroy a family that stays together. I love getting together with my parents, siblings, uncles, cousins, and friends when I go to Peru each year. It is always fun to share the childhood memories and stories with them. Casey joins me every other year.

Casey: My siblings and I were born in and raised a mile from Kailua beach on the island of Oʻahu. My parents met in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the 1950s and have been married for 54 years!  I am close to my siblings and usually see all of them once a year despite the long distances. My parent’s home is the central gathering place for all. My sister, two brothers, and their families visit from Boston, Phoenix, and Portland. Living in Hawaiʻi, my parents have always had many visitors from around the world in their house, including exchange students from Japan and Germany. Family, friends, and visitors know, help yourself in the well-stocked kitchen!

Mahalo! & ¡Muchas Gracias!

We are so grateful that you spent time getting to know us. If we seem like a good fit, we look forward to getting to know you as well while you make this important decision. Whatever you decide, it’ll be right for you and your baby. It is with hopeful and loving hearts that we await the blessing of being chosen as adoptive parents.
