We are Cherisse, Kyle and Phoenix. We live in Maui, Hawaii and we’ve been married for nine years. We’re extremely excited that you’re taking a moment to check out our profile today, it means a lot. Although this profile might show a snippet from our lives, this is really about YOUR bravery, selflessness, and unconditional love. We have built this profile in hopes that you get a better understanding of who we are as a family on the day to day.

Our story began in 2004, at a public arts high school in San Francisco. We dated on and off for a few years and reconnected in 2012, when Kyle finally put a ring on it. In 2019 we adopted our son, Phoenix, and we are thrilled to hopefully welcome a new little one to our family!

As a family, we have lots of fun together. We’re always going on adventures, whether it’s searching for tropical flowers on hikes, rummaging the beach for seashells, or chill’n at home reading Phoenix’s favorite books. We’re also community-oriented and spend lots of time with Phoenix and his many friends. Our energies connect people from all walks of life, which makes for awesome potlucks, parties at the beach, or movie nights on our garage door. Spirituality is also something that resonates within us. We enjoy praying in nature and giving thanks to the Aina (land) and all that we’ve been blessed with. Having good vibes and gratitude is definitely something we practice as a family, especially when we’re faced with challenging times. In our marriage, we’ve experienced some of life’s greatest pain and greatest joy and have grown stronger stronger together through it all.

Since we met, we put the intention of adopting into the universe, and we’re lucky to have had it become a reality. Our biggest dreams for our children are for them to be their most authentic selves and know they are loved unconditionally. We hope that they will change the world by being kind to others, while also maintaining healthy boundaries.

Music, dance, and glitter obsessed, I was born and raised in San Francisco, California. I am passionate about kindness and am known for community building and connecting people. When I’m not hanging with my silly boys, I enjoy watching reruns of Gilmore girls while folding laundry or blasting my favorite 90s tunes while cleaning the house (and bustin’ a move). BEING A TEACHER TO MY SON IS ALSO MEANINGFUL FOR ME. MY FAVORITE THING ABOUT BEING A MOM IS SNUGGLE TIME!

I was also born and raised in San Francisco. In my freetime I like to be working in our garden, revitalizing my spirit in Iao Valley, and drumming on our djembes and bongos at our local drum circle. I’m currently a full-time dad, and we’re working on homeschooling Phoenix and spending as much time outdoors having as much fun as possible. BEING A PARENT IS THE JOY OF MY LIFE AND BEING WITH MY FAMILY & KIDDO MEAN THE MOST TO ME.

Phoenix (almost four) never has a dull moment! He is vehicle, book, and dinosaur obsessed. Phoenix loves hanging with his closest homies. Right now, he’s really into scooters, talking story (chit chatting), and puddle jumping. Phoenix will be an amazing big brother. HE’S A GREAT ROLE MODEL FOR YOUNGER KEIKI (CHILDREN) AND IS ALWAYS SEEN AS THE KID THAT EVERYONE WANTS TO BEFRIEND.

Our pad in Maui is epic to say the least. We’re five minutes from waterfalls, bamboo forests, beaches, and basic amenities, which makes the day-to-day super convenient for us. Another cool aspect of our home is that we have a backyard with an abundance of fruit, veggies, and pretty flowers. We have a fun time tending to the garden as a family and regularly share our abundance with neighbors and friends. When we’re chill’n at the crib, you might find us putting together puzzles, hanging out on the Lanai, or jumping on our bed like three little crazy monkeys.

We always make our kiddos the top priority. We provide a safe and loving environment for our keiki to thrive. Everyone from imaginary dinosaurs and sparkly mermaids are always welcome over. We begin and end our days with snuggles, eskimo kisses, and talking story about love, friendship, and gratitude.

It means a lot that you took the time to learn some more about us and we seriously think you’re awesome. Life can be crazy, unpredictable, and full of unexpected turns....which we totally get. We can only hope that whatever decisions we make along the way feel right in our hearts. Our promise to you is that we will always be authentic, loving, and kind hearted to our children through all that this hectic life throws at us. We want dreams to come true, imaginations to run free, and self-expression to be at the base of it all.
