Hi, We are Chris and Carl from Collegeville, Pennsylvania. We have dreamed of starting a family since we first met over a decade ago. We have so much love to give a child and thank you so much for helping us make our dream of a family come true!

Even before we met we both knew we wanted to be dads. It was one of the first things we connected over when we began dating. We have worked with so many families and children in our careers we know we will have so much to teach and learn from a child. We consider you to be incredibly brave and strong for going on this adoption journey – we can’t wait to share our story with you.

We met at a Christmas party over a decade ago. We began talking and couldn’t believe with so many mutual friends and living so close to each other we hadn’t met before. It was love at first sight and since then we have spent all of our time together. We can truly say we are best friends. We were married in our backyard surround by friends and family. It was a family production; Carl’s sister made the wedding cake and the centerpieces and Chris’s parents helped to plan the reception. Lifelong friend Christy officiated the ceremony and our friend Erin played the wedding march on the cello. It was one of the best days of our lives.

Working on our house together is one of our hobbies, we just finished screening in our front porch and both tend the vegetable garden we installed last summer. We love to travel (we spent our fifth anniversary on a trip to Paris and London) and both are enthusiastic chefs and we both love to try our new recipes with our friends and family.

I grew up just outside of Kansas City, Missouri. I went to the high school for performing arts and went on to study music composition and theory at the Community College of Philadelphia and Temple University. I’ve worked as a professional musician my whole life, writing songs and recording with a number of groups as well as teaching private lessons to hundreds of kids over the years. Teaching is my passion and I’ve been blessed to work with so many young people and help instill in them the same love of music that I had when I was their age. They teach me about the latest music kids are listening to and how young people today see the world.

I work mostly from my home studio so my schedule is very flexible. I can’t wait to teach our future child how to play piano or guitar and to share some of my favorite records with them. I’m also looking forward to having them help in in the garden, growing flowers and vegetables from seed and making Carl’s famous tomato sauce with the things we grow in our garden.

Chris is very loving and affectionate with a very outgoing personality. He is my best friend, and there is no one else I would want to spend the rest of my life with. Every time one of us leaves the house or when we go to bed at night he always says I love you. I know your child will always know they’re is loved with him as a parent. He is always the first one to check in to make sure someone is doing okay. He is also very creative and am amazed at how he can just sit down and write a song or perform in front of a huge crowd and seem completely comfortable. I know he will be an excellent father and our future child will be very lucky to have him in their life.

I grew up in the city of Philadelphia, Pennslyvania. My family has always been very close with each other and I have many happy childhood memories of family get togethers at my aunt’s and Nan & Pops house. Both of my siblings are married with children so our child will have a very large extended family of cousins and someday nieces and nephews. We all live close to each other in south east Pennslyvania.

I earned my degree in Psychology from Temple University and work as a caseworker for the state of PA. I am very fortunate to have job where am I able to interact with and help many different kinds of people every day. My schedule is very flexible as I telework from home.

I am a bit of a nerd and my hobbies reflect that. I love sci-fi movies, books, video games, building computers and anything tech related. I also love to cook. I can’t wait to read to our future child, teach them how to cook and build their first computer together.

Carl is my best friend – he’s the person I turn to when I need an honest opinion, and the first person I want to tell about my day. I admire his loyalty to his friends and his total dedication to our family. He has a warmth and kindness that I just adore as well as a wonderful sense of humor. He has the rare gift to be able to look at a situation from all sides and the wisdom of an “old soul” to be able to make the right choice. He has made me a better person and I know as parents that we’ll make a great team! We’ve always talked about starting a family since we first met, and I can’t wait to see what a wonderful father he'll be.

Family is the most important thing to both of us and we are very close with our families. Carl’s family lives close by and we visit them all the time and have Sunday dinners at least twice a month. We host thanksgiving every year at our house and spend Christmas at Carl’s sisters Faith’s house.

Chris’s family is in Missouri but we are always facetiming or talking on the phone with them when they are not here visiting us. We take family vacations whenever possible. We spent 4th of July in Colorado Springs and went white water rafting for the 1st time! Chris has recently been giving his brother, Billy, banjo lessons over Zoom.

We live in the small town in the suburbs of Philadelphia in a large cape cod house sitting on almost an acre of land. Our neighborhood is very quiet and somewhat rural, we have great neighbors who really look out of one another. We’re very lucky to have a beautiful state park at the end of our road in addition to a great elementary and high school just a couple miles away. It is a great neighborhood a little off the beaten path but with everything a family needs just a short drive away.

We have spent the last couple of years working on our house and the gardens and will be finishing up our new greenhouse this spring. We both love antiques and have filled our house with things we have collected together or were gifted from Carl’s dad, who was an antique dealer in Philadelphia for many years.

Rosalita (also known as “Kittens”) is a talker – she greats us every morning with several meows before padding off to spend another day sunning herself in the window. When she’s not hiding under the bed from visitors, she’s one of the friendliest cats you’ll ever meet.

Alice, our German shepherd, just turned 9 this year. She loves to nap in the shade while we work in the garden and she can’t get enough of playing in the snow. She loves it when family comes to visit, and is happiest to lay under the table and listen to everyone talk, waiting patiently for our nephew Michael to slip her a Milk Bone.
