While we will never be able to truly understand how or what you are feeling, we are here to help assure you that your child will have the most amazing life possible. You'll see that we are an adventurous, creative, often goofy couple whose hearts are full of love to share with everyone around us, especially you and your child!

While we’ve traveled the world searching for adventure, our next chapter in life may be the biggest challenge of all - becoming parents. We’re ready for it and we hope you’re able to join us in that journey!

It's fairly simple - we are two men who fell in love with each other and always knew that we wanted to be parents. In fact, very early on in our relationship (about three months) we made the commitment to only continue dating if, one day, we would get married and have a child together. The only way we've ever thought of becoming dads was to adopt. Why not receive the greatest gift of all? A beautiful baby from an expectant mother just like you!

It all started with a clunky dating website in 2010 when Chris messaged Jan from his tiny studio apartment and asked him out on a date.

We agreed to meet in-person at a mall in “The Valley” on a warm spring day. Chris patiently waited and as Jan walked down the promenade, past all the stores and kiosks, Chris’ heart sank - he knew this was going to be serious! We both took things slow, but we couldn’t contain our love for each other and in 2016 we were married in Palm Springs as the sun slipped behind the mountains on a warm October evening.

Since being married, we’ve found that affectionate humor is our love language. Yeah, marriage is tough, but when you’re as silly and rarely serious as we are, the toughest part about it is keeping a straight face while we try to make each other laugh during awkward or serious moments.

The first thing to know about me is that I’m a dreamer, always inspired by my surroundings, kind of like a little kid. I'm adventurous, too. In my 20s and 30s I ran marathons, climbed up massive mountains and hopped on planes to unknown places. Nowadays, if I'm not in my garden daydreaming or planting, I'm probably in the kitchen experimenting with a new recipe or ingredient. I'm a storyteller and although I went to film school and worked in entertainment for many years, the one story I keep coming back to is food and family. I love how a freshly prepared meal can get all my loved ones around the table and spark endless joy and conversation. If anyone sets foot in my home, I make sure they are well fed and well cared for - even animals!

Chris is a man with great talent and passion for life. He’s a master chef in the kitchen, whipping up healthy organic meals that inspire me to eat a balanced diet. Some of his top dishes include green chile stew, authentic Italian spaghetti, and key lime pie. Chris is also a fantastic "plant dad" bringing life to all our indoor and outdoor plants. We even harvest our own hot peppers and herbs - truly a farm-to-table experience. Besides his green thumb, Chris is an avid hiker, exploring the best trails in Southern California.

When Chris sets his mind to something, he’s focused and disciplined. He’s overcome many challenges with hard work and perseverance, qualities I deeply admire. As parents, we will instill the values of strength and independence in our child. Just like a warm home-cooked meal, our child will absorb not only sustenance but also the passion and care that go into it. We want to create a home where our child can dream big, enjoy a happy childhood, and believe that anything is possible.

I’m excited to share a bit about myself. I grew up in the Philippines, where I developed a love for the beach and stargazing. High school was a fantastic time filled with friends and being an A-student. Chasing the American dream, I moved to the US for college and fell in love with San Diego’s warm beaches and friendly locals. After college, I moved to LA to pursue a career in advertising, working my way up the corporate ladder in Hollywood. I love my career and the chance to work on your favorite shows on TV.

I met my husband when we were both 25 and new to the big city. Together, we’ve grown strong as a family unit, and he has inspired me to build a happy and welcoming home. We’ve created a wonderful life here in LA, and the next exciting chapter for us is to experience parenthood. We would be honored to be part of your child’s life and provide a loving, supportive environment for them to thrive.

The most recognizable thing about Jan is his massive heart-warming smile! He is the happiest and most enthusiastic person I’ve ever met. Every day he finds a simple way to make me feel unique and loved. He also makes little jokes all day long just to see how many laughs he can get from me and he’s got an amazing success rate! But that’s not to say he isn’t serious. The way in which he can take a concept and turn it into reality in just days invigorates me and pushes me to explore our full potential as a couple. When things are tough, he always says the right thing to lift my spirits.

I daydream about what an amazing dad he’ll be, especially when he talks to the children in our life. He does it in a way that encourages them to go on and on with their stories, master their humor, and feel safe being emotional. Child or adult, Jan has an unreal ability to make anyone feel like they are the most important person in the world.

I am truly blessed to have such an intelligent, witty, and kind man to call my husband.

Travel: We’re an adventurous and vibrant couple eager to share our lives, full of love and exploration, with a child. Our journey together has taken us to more than 20 countries, where we’ve embraced the different cultures and perspectives. In our home, we speak 3 languages, believing that language opens doors to opportunities and deeper connections.

Food: When we’re not traveling, we’re creating special moments at home with our closest friends. Every few months, we host themed dinner parties, crafting menus inspired by seasonal produce or a favorite cuisine. From appetizers to dessert (and, of course, a signature cocktail), these evenings are filled with laughter, creativity, and joy. For us, food is more than nourishment—it’s how we express love and celebrate the people in our lives.

Music: Music is another passion that brings us together. We’re avid fans of live shows and festivals, enjoying everything from pop and house to Latin, indie, and ‘90s classics. Recently, we’ve started collecting vinyl records, curating albums we can enjoy from start to finish.

Living just minutes from the California coast, we love feeling the cool ocean breeze and watching sunsets on the beach.

We can’t wait to share these simple but meaningful moments with a child, along with our passions for travel, food, music, and the incredible friendships that anchor our lives.

Our home feels like a little slice of paradise, and we can’t wait to share its magic with our future baby. It’s an adorable Spanish bungalow that was built almost a hundred years ago and we’ve worked so hard to make it warm and cozy, welcoming to everyone. It has a beautiful garden with fresh fruits, seasonal wildflowers, and exotic desert plants. When you step inside, you feel immediately at home, ready to cozy up by the TV or fill your tummy with delicious food. Imagine long summer days spent building sandcastles, splashing in the waves, or simply soaking in the ocean breeze until the sun sets.

From San Diego to Los Angeles, our extended family creates a warm and loving support system that we rely on heavily. We’ll often pop down to San Diego to escape the hustle and bustle of LA and spend time with family. Or, if we feel more adventurous, we’ll escape to a desert location like Joshua Tree or Palm Springs, indulging in poolside barbecues and starry nights that make memories that feel like a page out of a storybook. Living here really brings out the kid in us, whether we’re planning a trip to Disneyland or checking out a new museum, we take full advantage of LA!

In our home, we deeply value kindness and empathy. We strive to teach the importance of truly listening to others, understanding their feelings, and forming meaningful connections. It’s a joy to guide a child in living authentically, embracing who they are with honesty and courage. Our greatest wish is to nurture a heart that is compassionate and true. These are the lessons we hold dear and hope to share with our future child.

We have two cats named Tux and Saber. We found both of them in our backyard as tiny little six-week-old stray kittens. While we weren’t planning on being cat dads, we rose to the occasion! Tux is like a puppy, and loves being the center of attention, especially when food is involved. Saber is shy and delicate, but when she makes herself vulnerable, she warms our hearts while she floofs us with her big puffy tail. They both get really excited when kids are in the house and we think they’ll love having a baby in the house.

Leggie: (5 years old) - Leggie is the son of our best friend Anna and is now a lively five-year-old. He affectionately calls us his “uncles” even though we’re not related by blood. We’ve been a part of Leggie’s life since before he was born, supporting Anna throughout her pregnancy. We have had the joy of traveling with Leggie to Japan, the Bahamas, and to Mexico later this year!

Camila: (1 year old) - Camila just turned 1 and is the adorable daughter of our best friend Sherri, who lives just a few miles from our home in LA. We often daydream about our future child developing a close friendship with Camila, given their similar ages. Chris has known Sherri for over 20 years, and we’re excited to enter this new phase of our friendship as parents at the same time.

Sid: (2 years old) - Sid is Jan’s youngest nephew from my brother and the newest addition to our extended family at 2 years old. Chris has been honored to be Sid’s godfather, a role that holds great significance in Filipino culture as a source of lifelong support and guidance. Despite living in Fontana, about an hour from LA, we make sure to be present for all of Sid’s important milestones.

Our main goal as parents is to make sure that our future child never stops learning and never stops exploring. Our life experiences up to this point have prepared us to share everything we can with a child. We want them to know that no matter what they want to do, who they want to be, or where they want to go in the world, they are more than capable and have our full support.

Although we grew up on opposite ends of the world and come from two distinct cultures, our common ground is an insatiable thirst for knowledge and culture. There's no reason why our child can't follow that same path but go even farther beyond. We also believe in communication. Our future child will have the opportunity to openly communicate with us and share their feelings. We'll never tell them they can't feel a certain way if they are experiencing intense emotions. We'll provide the structure and support they need to become the best little human possible who can touch everyone's life and bring a smile to their face.
