We are Chris, Sarah, Asher and Zion. Hello from Washington State! Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know a little about who we are as a family. We understand that adoption is a big decision and would like to give you some comfort and assurance during this process. We have two adopted sons, Asher and Zion. Our boys are such a joy and we are eager to continue growing our family through adoption.
We grew up as next door neighbors and attended the same church. Chris was best friends with Sarah’s older brother, but by the time we were in our twenties something changed and we started to see other as more than just friends. We’ve now been married for over 10 years and love spending time with our boys as well as taking long weekends away with just the two of us.
We always wanted children but early on in our marriage it became apparent this would not happen naturally.
We struggled with infertility and tried multiple procedures over several years. Although we had not initially considered adoption, we now cannot imagine our family being created any other way!
We are so fortunate to have our two boys in our life because of adoption. Asher and Zion are both so much fun and are always exploring and learning new things. Asher has a vivid imagination in everything he does from running around outside to sitting and reading books. Zion is energetic and loves trying to keep up with his big brother.
Sarah is beautiful, gentle, and very caring. For years, Sarah was just the younger sister of my best friend. But one day I realized that I cared for her and started to notice her as more than just my neighbor. When her brother was stuck at home with an injury, I was spending more time at their house and realized that I could spend time not only with my friend as he got better, but also getting to really know Sarah. When she said yes to marrying me I was so excited. I couldn’t wait to start a family with her. Since that day I have fallen in love with her more and more. She has a calm demeanor and a wonderful smile. Her sense of humor is great and she has a quick wit.
Before we were married and to this day she has always loved children and never missed an opportunity to care for them. Once we were married it became apparent that having children naturally would be very unlikely. This was hard for both of us, but it was especially difficult for Sarah. After many different attempts she was finally pregnant with our son Asher, through embryo adoption. It was so wonderful to see her become a mother. I also treasure the memory of witnessing her joy as she cared for Zion when we were once again blessed through adoption. She is such a wonderful mother to both boys and her care for me is a lovely. She’s a wonderful wife and the best mother anyone could ask for. The love and care she gives is a wonderful thing to see.
I grew up in Olympia, Washington with 6 brothers and 4 sisters, 11 of us in all! There was never a dull moment. Being the oldest daughter taught me both responsibility and how to keep things fun. I always knew I wanted to be a mom, I loved helping take care of all my brothers and sisters. I learned so much from my parents, watching them raise and care for us all. Being a mom to my two sons is better than I could have ever imagined. They keep me on my toes whether its taking care of the house or playing in the yard. I love the joy and excitement they bring to me. Our weekends are usually spent on a fun adventure with dad, working in the yard, or taking it easy in our living room watching our favorite sports team play. I am so grateful to have my sons, my husband, and my extended family surrounding me. I am excited to see our family grow and add another one to the crew!
Chris is a loving husband, is very caring, and selfless. I have known Chris my whole life. But it wasn’t until after high school that I started to see him in a romantic way. After a year of dating, on a chilly day in February we went for a dinner cruise in Seattle. It was here that Chris got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.
Chris has far exceeded my expectations about what it could be like to be married. He is a loving husband. He is very caring and selfless. Always making sure I am taken care of and have what I need. He also is an awesome dad to our sons and loves spending time with us. Chris also enjoys building anything he can. He loves to wear his tool belt as much as possible and get his hands dirty. He is constantly working on some project at our house. He often brings home his tools and loves when the boys help him around the house.
I grew up in Washington state and have lived in the same area my entire life. Growing up with 8 siblings, I learned the importance of teamwork and the value of spending quality time together. Whether it was working on projects around the house with my brothers and dad, or exploring the outdoors, I always had a great time being active and learning new skills.
Today, I own and operate a home construction company and have a passion for building things. I take great pride in the work that I do, and I love the satisfaction of creating something beautiful and functional for people to enjoy.
Being a husband and father is one of the greatest joys of my life. Getting home to my wife and boys is the best part of each day. I find it so exciting to watch our family grow and look forward to seeing our boys with another sibling.
Asher is our creative and imaginative 6 year old. We were able to adopt Asher through a frozen embryo transfer and Sarah was able to carry Asher through the pregnancy! Chris was especially excited when he found out we were having a boy. Asher is always trying out something new. He also enjoys playing baseball and other games with his friends and cousins who live nearby. He also loves being a big brother to Zion.
Zion is our friendly 1 year old. We met Zion for first time at the hospital when he was 2 weeks old. He is a bundle of energy and is constantly on the move. He loves music, dancing, and trying anything that Asher is doing. He loves to smile and wave to anyone walking by.
Each of their adoption stories is so special and unique, and we know that based on how much they love and care for each other, they will be the best big brothers to their new sibling!
We own a house on 5 acres so it’s the perfect place to grow up. The house sits on top of a hill and we have a barn as well. The large back yard is a favorite for Asher, Zion and all the kids in the neighborhood. Anytime they are over they want to run down the hill. Whether it’s a water slide in the summer or a sledding hill in the winter, our property is a destination for the neighborhood. On a summer evening you can typically find us on the back porch enjoying the view and listening to the birds. Once parked in our driveway, it feels like entering another world. People who walk into the yard are amazed that such a great house and property are hidden behind the tree line. We enjoy that our whole property is a place where kids love to explore and play.
We both grew up in large families. Chris is one of 8 siblings and Sarah one of 11. We are both lucky to live within a mile of our parents and many of our siblings and their families. This makes it great for getting together all the time whether for birthdays, holidays or just on a nice evening. There are always a lot of aunts, uncles and cousins around whatever the event is. It’s always exciting to go to Grandpa and Grandma’s house (either one) because there is certain to be some one there to play with.
Both of our immediate and extended families, as well as our friends are part of the same church. Our faith is important to us and helps us stay grounded through life’s many ups and downs.
We are very excited to once again grow our family through adoption. We see children as such a precious gift. We look forward to every day with them and all the new and wonderful things they will learn. If it’s in the back yard, on a trip to the beach, or vacationing in some exotic destination their curiosity and enthusiasm is such a pleasure and privilege to watch and nurture.
Thank you for considering us and taking the time to get to know us a little. As parents we promise that your child will grow up in a happy and well balanced environment. We will surround them with lots of love, happiness and snuggles. We would be honored if you chose us to be adoptive parents to your child.
