Hello there! We are Eda and Andy from sunny Los Angeles, California. We are a happily married couple who love movies, traveling, playing board games, and spending lots of time with our beloved pets. We understand how important this decision is for you, and how much thought and care goes into it. We truly appreciate you taking the time to get to know us!

We’ve always known that becoming parents was at the heart of our dreams. Our original vision was to conceive naturally and also adopt as a way of building our family. While that path didn’t unfold as we had hoped, it only strengthened our resolve to move forward with adoption. Adoption has never been a second choice for us; it is a beautiful and intentional way to create the family we’ve been dreaming of. We are excited and ready to open our hearts and our home to a child, offering them stability, joy, encouragement, culture, and unconditional love. We are fully committed to giving your child a home where they will feel safe, cherished, and supported as they grow into who they are meant to be.

We met when a short film project Andy was working on needed a composer and found Eda online. We ended up spending more time laughing, flirting, and sharing our stories than we ever did on the film, so we started dating. It was a whirlwind romance that was both wonderful and difficult at times. We rushed into marriage believing it was the right thing and fell on some hardships. We split up for a time, but reunited as stronger, smarter individuals and we rebuilt our love from the ground up and have remained as best friends madly in love ever since. Today, we enjoy spending time with our 2 cats, our dog, our family and friends, playing board games, watching movies, traveling when time allows, and going out to enjoy what our city has to offer. We enjoy our life and we can’t wait to share it!

We love watching movies—at home or in theaters—across every genre, from superhero blockbusters to indie dramas. Half the fun is the post-movie debate, where we enthusiastically dissect the acting, directing, editing, and everything in between. We are unapologetic
film nerds.

We love and appreciate food! Eda’s passion for cooking and Andy’s foodie nature makes the perfect match. It also helps that Andy loves baking which always leads to tea-time fun.

Another shared passion is modern board gaming, whether it’s just the two of us or a full-on game night with friends. We love the critical thinking, the strategy, and those tiny moments of randomness that affect our carefully laid plans, forcing us to adapt on the fly.

Travel is another big love of ours whenever we get the chance. We’ve visited Eda’s hometown of Istanbul many times, as well as Japan, Paris, and several parts of Italy. Closer to home, we’ve enjoyed trips to Seattle, New York City, Las Vegas and more U.S. cities. There’s plenty more travel in our future, and we believe it’s incredibly important to expose a child to a rich variety of cultures—both around the world and right here at home.

I’m very devoted to my inner circle and value close relationships with family and friends. I’m a nurturing person by nature and absolutely love animals. If Andy didn’t stop me, we’d be living on a farm by now because I want to take home every animal I see. I work in the entertainment industry and am comfortable leading with kindness, empathy, and a strong work ethic. Outside of work, I love hosting dinner parties because I genuinely enjoy cooking and bringing people together. I grew up in Turkey and carry my culture with me; it shapes how I see the world and adds richness to our home. I also enjoy watching movies and debating with Andy over whose turn it is to pick, a debate I fully intend to continue with our future child. I want to be a parent because I’m ready to share my time, energy, and love with a child. I’m excited to create a home filled with warmth, curiosity, and laughter, where a child feels deeply supported.

Eda is a natural talent. I am constantly amazed by her ability to lead others with grace and respect. She excels at the technical aspects of daily life, such as handling finances and organizing appointments, whereas I am completely lost. I love that my weaknesses are her strengths, and vice versa. I think she is a gifted pianist and would have made an excellent film composer, though I respect her decision to pursue a more practical career in film and TV localization. She is one of the funniest people I’ve ever known, and her sense of humor aligns almost perfectly with mine. I love that she shares my compassion, especially for animals. She has a strong sense of justice and may get a little too emotional when injustice prevails, but that only proves to me that she’s a fighter with a big heart who always strives to do the right thing. I know Eda will make a great parent because she will pass on all of these qualities as a mother.

I am in love with films, television, and all things “story.” I have a near-encyclopedic knowledge of movies—it’s my superpower, really. I once fancied myself a writer, but eventually shifted toward a more practical way of making a living that aligns with another passion of mine: animals. I absolutely love animals and am currently pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, which I’m very excited about. Being a parent excites me in many ways. I want to provide my children with things I never had growing up: support, communication, travel opportunities and stability. I want to teach them skills like storytelling or how to play board games; and show them all the cool movies I loved as a kid (which they’ll inevitably tell me are “cringe,” haha). I’ve been preparing for parenthood by building an arsenal of dad jokes for decades. My goal is to strike a balance between being a “cool dad” and a respectable father.

Andy is the love of my life. He is incredibly funny and playful, but also deeply responsible and reliable. He brings a sense of lightness to everyday life and has a rare ability to turn even the most routine moments into something fun. He makes me laugh every day, often in ways I don’t see coming. Andy is kind, thoughtful, and genuinely cares about others. He always shows up when I need him, and I trust him completely. He looks out for me in ways both big and small, and his steadiness makes me feel safe and supported. What excites me most about Andy as a parent is how naturally devoted he will be. He is patient, balanced, and deeply respectful of others, and I know he will bring the same care, humor, and commitment to being a father as he brings to every part of our life together.

Owning a house was always a dream of ours, and we purchased our home in the summer of 2020. It’s a two-story, three-bedroom house with a cozy backyard where persimmons, pineapple guava, and oranges grow during the spring and summer months. Our cats loooove to stare out the patio door at the frolicking squirrels. After we moved in, we remodeled the kitchen to our dream kitchen where we love to cook and bake. Our community is fairly quiet with good schools; most people tend to keep to themselves, but we’re always met with a friendly response whenever we say hello to neighbors. We’re close to trails for a Sunday hike and parks to walk our dog; we love being close to nature. We also live a short distance from Hollywood and all the exciting elements the city offers, including parades, theaters, and entertainment venues. We feel Los Angeles is a wonderful place to raise a child, with its diverse culture, wonderful restaurants, entertainment opportunities, and so much more to explore and enjoy.

Our pets are awesome, we believe we hit the jackpot there. Our dog, Parker, is ridiculously handsome. He’s a naturally loving, sweet dog. We argue who’s best friend he is, but we’re pretty sure it’s both of us. Cat #1, Noel, was Andy’s gift to Eda for Christmas—she’s our queen, our Princess Meow Meow, the ruler of all things in our kingdom. Cat #2, Ripley, is funny and a little coo coo. She’s brave enough to fight anything life throws at her, which is sometimes just... water.

We are fortunate to have a diverse and supportive circle of family and friends. Andy’s parents live in Washington State. His dad recently retired from Boeing, and they’re now enjoying a quieter pace of life. They’re kind, quirky people with strong morals and a wonderfully goofy sense of fun. Eda’s parents are both retired and divide their time between Istanbul and Los Angeles every year so we get to spend a lot of time with them. They don’t have any grandchildren yet and are almost as excited as we are about the possibility!

Andy has two brothers: his older brother lives in Arizona, and his younger brother—whom he shares a particularly close bond with—lives in San Diego. Eda has an older sister, and although she hasn’t been able to visit lately, they care deeply for one another. We also have a wonderful group of friends from all over the world, including Turkey, Italy, Japan, and Germany. We share a love of games, animals, and movies, and often get together for dinners, tea time, and game nights.

We don’t believe there’s a perfect way to parent a child. Our goal is to guide them with love and clear moral values—teaching kindness, empathy, and responsibility—while giving them space to explore and make mistakes. We want them to feel safe learning from missteps, asking questions, and finding their own path. By balancing guidance with independence, we hope to raise a thoughtful, resilient person who can make good choices and grow into their own best self. We would raise them to appreciate animals, nature, and the environment, and teach them to stand up for themselves and others for justice and equality. We would love to share our passion for the arts with our child, encouraging creativity and expression.
