We are Elisia and Megan and we are so excited to share our story with you! We are so grateful to you for taking the time to learn about us. We admire your love, courage and selflessness as you consider the journey of adoption or the journey of parenting. If you choose adoption, please know that you would be giving us the most special gift anyone could possibly give us – a child we have been wishing and trying for, to complete our family.
Aloha From Hawaii!
How We Know We’re Meant to Be
We found each other through Match.com and spent a lot of time talking via email. Each of us knew we were in love with each other before we even met in person! On our first date, Megan was sharing stories about her dogs. Somehow the story of her Boston Terrier Kallie’s nickname came up. The story goes that one day Megan’s mom exclaimed “You look Chinese, you’re a Mei Ling dog!” and so she became Kallie Mei Ling. When Elisia heard this story, her jaw dropped. Elisia comes from a Chinese background and as tradition goes, was given a Chinese name as a child. You guessed it – her given Chinese name was “Mei Ling.” If we didn’t believe it already, we knew then that we were meant to be.
We got married in 2017 and started thinking about having kids shortly after that. We have been together for over seven years now. Our life in Hawaii is hectic, but balanced. Elisia is passionate about her job and growing the legacy her father started. She is also very involved in the community serving on the board of a local bank, as well as many non-profit organizations including a local theatre, the Humane Society, and a YWCA leadership organization. Megan is the glue in the family, taking care of everyone (including our high maintenance dogs), and even Elisia’s extended family. She will be starting as a teacher this Winter, but plans to stay-at-home once we have kids. We currently have two dogs and are self-described crazy dog parents.
Together we enjoy spending time in the outdoors - going to the beach, hiking, being with family and friends, and traveling. As much as we like being out and about, we are also very much home-bodies and like staying in, reading, watching TV and working on projects.
Traveling is our best hobby together. We love to explore new cultures and try to travel to a different country every year. So far our most memorable international trip was visiting New Zealand. It was such an adventure, one day we were hiking a glacier, the next day we were in a cave looking at glow worms. We also try to plan an outdoorsy trip each as often as we can – last year we rented an RV and drove all through Utah visiting the National Parks.
Meet Elisia, By Elisia
I was born in Hawaii and am part Chinese, part Filipino. I have a younger sister and huge extended family so a lot of my childhood was spent at big family gatherings. My best memories growing up were the vacations I took with my parents and sister – my parents love traveling the world and passed that travel bug onto me. I left Hawaii for college, attending USC to study business. After graduating I worked for General Electric in different finance leadership roles across the country. I eventually moved to Arizona for a job, and that’s where I met and fell in love with Megan. While in Arizona, I enrolled in a Masters of Business Administration program at UCLA. After finishing graduate school, Megan and I decided to move back to Hawaii. My father started a restaurant franchise business over 40 years ago. I wanted to move home to work in the family business, and eventually take it over.
Meet Megan, By Megan
I was born and raised in Amelia, Ohio – a small town about one hour for Cincinnati. I had a very typical small town childhood, everyone in town knew each other, so it was very safe. Growing up I was always interested in how things work so my father would take me on contracting jobs and teach me how to fix things, which makes me extremely useful around the house. I eventually became a contractor in Ohio while I was working on my degree. I really enjoyed the work, it is very satisfying to see a project come to fruition. I have an older sister and helped raised her two boys. Eventually, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona to get my degree in Biochemistry and met Elisia. We lived there for about a year before moving to Hawaii. I absolutely love it here! It's like all of my childhood dreams have come true. A beautiful wife, living in paradise, traveling the world, and truly loving life. Now I just want to spread the joy to a child.

Our Loved Ones
Elisia and Megan were raised in households where family came first, and still believe its the most important thing in life. In Hawaii, they see Elisia's family almost every week - in fact Elisia works with her dad and sister every day. Though Megan's family is in Ohio, they are all still very close. She phones her sister and at least one of her parents daily. All of our loved ones are as excited as we are to welcome a new baby into our families.

Welcome to Our Home Sweet Home
We love living in Hawaii surrounded by natural beauty. We live on a beautiful and peaceful ridge, surrounded by many generations of families - for example our neighbor babysits their grandkids every day.
There is a great park about a 2 minute walk from our home, with tennis, basketball, baseball and a jungle gym. The beach is a 5 minute drive from the house. We live in our dream home – a two-story colonial with a pool and ocean view. We have a large fenced in yard with plenty of fruit trees and tropical plants.
We currently have two dogs. Finn is our 11 year old Puggle – a pug, beagle mix. He was all black when he was born, but now is rocking salt and pepper hair and looks very distinguished. Kallie is our 9 year old Boston Terrier, she loves playing – with tennis balls, basketballs, footballs – anything she can chase! Both dogs were originally from Ohio and moved to Arizona and eventually Hawaii with us. We love and spoil them so much, and even chose to have our wedding in our backyard so that the dogs could participate!
