My name is Erin and I’m from St. George, Utah. I’ve spent countless hours thinking of what I could say to you, what I can promise you, and how I could ensure you that I would be the best mother for your child. I promise you that I will love your child with every fiber of my being and that I will do my very best to provide a safe, loving, and fulfilled life. I hope that when you read about me and my life, my friends and family, and my community, that you feel a connection and envision your child being part of what I can offer. I believe that you will make the best choice for your child. Follow your heart! It will lead you to the best choice for you and your sweet baby.
Dear Birth Mother
All About Me
I love learning. I am constantly buying books to help me grow personally, professionally, spiritually, and just for fun. I also love to research new topics and over the last five years I have been able to teach myself how to do different tasks and have become quite the handy woman. I LOVE theater, especially musical theater. When watching a play I feel like I am transported to another world. Theater has played a huge part in shaping who I am starting in the sixth grade. Throughout my life I have had the chance to be on stage and behind the scenes. I also had the opportunity to direct the community youth program for two years. I continue to enjoy going to plays with friends and family. Oh! I also love Disneyland!
Words People Would Use To Describe Me
Teaching is my passion! I chose to become a teacher because I wanted a career where I felt I could make a difference. The most important thing to me is to build strong relationships with my students by getting to know their interests, strengths, and challenges. I also think it is important to teach my students about issues in the world; in the last two years we raised money and made projects for causes including Human Trafficking and Suicide Prevention. I hope that my students leave my class with a belief in themselves, remembering meaningful lessons, and a plan to move forward with their goals. My schedule as a teacher will allow me summers and holidays to travel and share the world with my future child.
I had a special opportunity to do service in three countries each trip was amazing.
• My family served in Ecuador in an orphanage and a special needs home. As I held those children close, I knew adoption was in my future.
• I traveled to Guatemala and as a group we worked with a rural mountain community. I focused on education with both teachers and students.
• I also served in Peru. These children loved learning! We had the opportunity to paint murals and as the children danced with passion and a light in their eyes I was reminded to never take anything for granted.
Home Sweet Home
I recently moved from California to St. George Utah. St George is a growing city with a small-town feel surrounded by beautiful red rock mountains; it is very family-friendly with events taking place year-round. Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon are both just a short distance away. My home is in a welcoming neighborhood with excellent schools. It is a double level home with a lot of room for children and backyard activities. I love it here!
Christmas is a big deal in my family! All my immediate family sleeps over at my parents’ house, along with a few cousins. We all cram into one room to open gifts. My mom makes us take turns to make sure she sees everyone open their gifts. Everyone gets a stocking, even into adulthood! We have a lot of laughs and memories that are repeated throughout the years.
“To know Erin is to have a friend in Erin! Erin is easily the most loving and loyal person I know. She has always loved children and is so good with them. My girls love her and always look forward to the time they get to spend with her. She is very hands on and is always there to play with them, read a book, change diapers, and more! She was made to be a mom and any child will be beyond blessed to have her. I can't wait to see her as a mom!” — Kiley (Erin’s sister)
“Erin is truly what a best friend is supposed to be. Her upbeat and positive personality makes people feel special as they are graced by the warmth of her heart and by putting smiles on everyone's face. Her passion for teaching is shown in the dedication she gives her students. When it comes to children her heart is open, whether it’s for her two beautiful nieces, the children of her family and many friends or her students. Erin’s love is equal. She will drop what she is doing to aid a friend or anyone in need. She is loyal, compassionate, dedicated, and will provide a loving, warm home for a child that is fortunate to have her as their Mom.” — Ryan (Erin’s Friend)
My Loved Ones
My favorite part about my family is our sense of humor and open hearts and minds. We talk openly about our feelings, share our opinions, have healthy discussions, fight sometimes, and laugh a lot. I am the middle daughter of three. My older sister is ten years older and my younger sister is six years younger. Although we are spread apart, we are still close and find ways to stay involved in each other’s lives. I have two adorable nieces who have taught me about imagination and unconditional love. I can’t wait to introduce a new cousin to them!
I was raised by two loving, working parents who were involved in our lives. My parents taught us to love God and other people and to honor their cultures. We had traditions, but the greatest memories are those that just happened by being part of my family. My parents also provided a loving home for our friends and those who needed a friend. My dad passed away in June of 2019 after a four year battle with brain cancer and dementia. I was living out of state when he got sick and moved home to help my parents. Those years were beyond hard, but I’m grateful for the time I got to be with him. As I have reflected on my relationship with my dad since he has passed the importance of family has had an even greater impact on me. My biggest blessing of friendship is the tight knit group I have been able to lean on the last four years.
