Hello! We are Ernie & Nico from Southern California.

We want to wish you a warm hello and thank you for taking the time to get to know us, and for considering us as the adoptive parents to your child. We deeply admire the courage, strength and selflessness that you have considering adoption, and we are honored to be a part of this journey with you. We understand this is a difficult decision, but hope you know what an amazing gift you would be giving us. Starting a family is something that we have dreamt of for a long time now, and we are very excited to become first-time parents through adoption. We hope that reading this will give you a better understanding of the type of loving family your child would be raised in.

Our love story began in 2011, where we met in a local community choir. We rehearsed weekly and watched each other from across the room for 6 months or so before acting on our attraction for each other. Once we started dating we were inseparable and quickly fell in love. In the spring of 2014, we were married in front of our dearest friends, family, and choir mates. We have spent the last 4 years of our marriage building a healthy, loving and committed life together. We plan on passing the love, commitment and musical passion to our child.

A few things about us:

  • We love to Hike: hiking on the weekends is one of our favorite things to do together.
  • We love Music: we are avid vinyl record collectors and love to introduce new music to each other.
  • We love Road Trips: we love to explore the California coast and road trip somewhere new at least once a year.
  • We love quiet nights at home: relaxing nights on the couch with some popcorn and a movie.
  • We love Cooking: we switch off cooking dinners for each other and testing out new recipes.

Meet Nico

I was born and raised in Southern California and have lived here my entire life. I have an older sister who is my best friend. Our parents, being musicians and artists, always encouraged self-expression. From a very young age my sister and I would put on shows for our parents, and any family member we could get to be our audience. We even made out own programs. We were exposed to a wide variety of musical genres and through that have continued a lifelong passion for music. We grew up watching out parents perform in their jazz band. I began singing in choirs at a very young age and continue to do so to this day. My parents have been married for over 30 years and continue to encourage me and my sister to express ourselves artistically. My sister now has a one year old daughter and I love being and aunt. We can’t wait for my niece to meet her new cousin.

Nico through Ernie’s eyes: Nico is by far the most generous person I know. From very early on in our dating I knew this was the person I was going to marry. Her family was very accepting of me from the very beginning. I have also felt welcomed by her group of very close knit friends. She is the most organized person I have ever met which compliments my laid back approach to life. I love watching her with children because I get to see what a great mother she will be.

  • Baking on Sundays

Meet Ernie

I also was born and raised in Southern California and have lived here most of my life. I have two sisters, one 3 years older and a surprise little sister 10 years younger. The three of us are very close and spend a lot of time together. When my older sister and I were young, our parents were the leaders of a small youth group at the school my sisters and I went to. We did a lot of hiking, camping and group outings. We were a part of the group that included us in all their activities even though they were 10 years older than us. Through those experiences we developed a great deal of empathy and learned how to be there for others. We always had music on in the house and were exposed to a lot of different genres from a very young age. That has followed the three of us through the years. My parents were married for 41 years at the time of my fathers’ passing and not a day goes by that I am not grateful for the upbringing I was afforded. I am eager to give our new baby the same experiences and unconditional love I was lucky enough to have and still have from my family.

Ernie through Nico’s eyes: Ernie is the kindest person I have ever met. When I first met him I could see his gentle and honest heart right away. All of his friends told me how lucky I was to be with him because he was the most genuine friends they had. Early on in our relationship we talked about marriage and kids and I knew he would be the most patient and loving father. He is the godfather to six of our friends children because of the trusting person he is and they all know what a great father he will be. I cannot wait to see him with our child.

A few things that make Ernie happy:

  • Hiking with our dog
  • Making pasta for the family
  • Playing Frisbee golf

Our Friends & Family

We are lucky enough to have an amazing community of friends and family that are always supportive of our choices and 100% behind out decision to adopt. Between us we have four nieces and nephews that we spend lots of quality time with. Our families live nearby giving us easy and frequent access to grandparents and cousins. We have a very close knit group of friends, many of whom we grew up with. We love to entertain and have our friends and family over for brunches and game nights. Our friends and family are eager for play date and cannot wait to babysit.

Our Home & Community

We love living in Southern California. We purchased our spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home in the suburbs of Los Angeles just before we got married. Since then we have had lots of time to make it our own and fall in love with our community. We live in a wonderful neighborhood, and on our street we have several neighbors who have young children. We are within walking distance to great schools, parks, community centers, and libraries. We are also just a quick drive away from the mountains and the beach if want a change of scenery.Family Traditions

  • We spend time each summer in the mountains at our family cabin. We hike, enjoy nature and spend time relaxing in the peace and quiet.
  • We spend Christmas Eve Dinner with Ernie’s family and we spend Christmas Morning Brunch Nico’s family. This way we get quality time in with each family.
  • We get all the family together during award season, and watch the Awards shows. We all vote before the shows on homemade ballots and have prizes for the winners.

Our Pets

Yoko is our 3 year old Pug/Poodle mix. We got her from a local rescue as a puppy. She is a sweet, quirky companion who doesn’t leave our side. She is playful, but gentle and is very sweet and cuddly with children. She is excited to give lots of kisses to your baby. Anderson Cooper is our 7 year old grey tabby. He was found under a house nearby from a family who abandoned him. We took him in and he has shown us nothing but unconditional love. He loves long naps and cuddling on your lap. We can already see him as a lifelong friend to your baby.

Our promise to you

  • To always provide a safe loving home for your child
  • To love your child unconditionally
  • To be your child’s biggest advocate and always support their hopes and dreams
  • To make sure that your child knows their adoptions story
  • To make sure your child is exposed to different lifestyles, cultures, and music
  • To instill confidence in your child so they are proud of who they are

Thank You

We have learned that life does not always go as planned. But the unexpected things in life can lead you on amazing journeys you never knew were in store for you. Our journey to parenthood has been a long and hard one, but has made us beyond ready to share our love with your child. Whatever choice that you make will be the right one for you and your baby. We would be honored if you chose us, and we are very grateful that you took the time to get to know us.
