We are Hannah and Jared from sunny Los Angeles, California. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us! We are so honored that you are considering entrusting us with the gift of a new child! We know this is one of the most difficult decisions you’ll ever make, but we hope to make it a decision you will cherish for the rest of your life. We’ve known that we wanted to adopt from very early on in our relationship, and having both come from blended families, like the idea of building a non-traditional family.
After having a few children of our own, we’re so excited to grow our family through adoption and hope you’ll join us!
We met in college when Jared’s brother (who he was always with) and Hannah’s twin sister (who she was always with) started hanging out. All that time spent together led to a great friendship, and we quickly realized we were perfect for each other. Our relationship wound its way through the next 3 years of college, and then 3 years across the country as Hannah went to grad school in Kentucky, and Jared moved to LA. When we finally were back in the same city again, it was clear we were meant to be together. After almost 8 years of dating, we got engaged after a sunrise hot air balloon ride over southern California wine country. 5 years of marriage and 3 kids later we’re living the life we always dreamed of when we first met as teenagers.
We share a lot of interests, like sports, travel, exercise, and being outdoors. At this stage of our lives though, one shared interest seems to dominate them all: our life is all about our kids and family. We love spending as much time as we can together as a family whether it’s trips across the country or trips to the grocery store. On weekends we love taking our kids to parks, getting them involved in activities like soccer, swimming lessons or gymnastics, or sharing with them things that we loved as kids like playing legos, racing RC cars, or making rockets to launch.
We’re so excited to see where their interests begin to develop and how we can help support their unique personalities.
I was initially drawn to Hannah because of her relentlessly positive and fun energy. I remember more times than I can count that she and her sister would be laughing so hard they could barely get their words out and my brother and I couldn’t help but just look at each other and laugh as well. She always sees the best in people and brings the best out of me.
She’s created an incredible life for us, and for so many more people whose lives she’s touched. She’s an amazing mother, not only in the time she spends with our kids, but always looking up more fun games and activities for them to play whenever she can.
Hannah is a Clinical Research Director for a company that does clinical trials for mental health related medications. She has a master’s in kinesiology from the University of Kentucky where she found that she loved contributing to advances in medicine through research. Both of our careers let us prioritize our children by allowing us flexible schedules and a healthy work/life balance.
Jared is the kind of man I hope my boys grow up to be. He is incredibly hard-working, extraordinarily kind, and willing to sacrifice his sleep, money, and time, anything to make things easier for other people. Jared is also an incredible dad. From Day 1, when our first son was born, he was a natural, changing diapers, rocking the baby to sleep, it was as if he was always meant to be a dad. In his free-time he is always trying to better himself in some way, like learning guitar, taking online classes, etc. It is inspiring to me and our children watching him continue to learn and grow.
Anyone who knows Jared loves him, and everyone agrees things are just better when he is around.
Jared works as an Editor and Producer primarily in unscripted television. He’s worked on all kinds of shows from networks like HGTV, Discovery, Bravo, to NBC and Netflix, most recently editing the last few seasons of USA’s Chrisley Knows Best. He enjoys working in a creative profession and especially likes working on comedies that make people laugh.

We live in sunny Los Angeles, California in a newly remodeled, open floor plan home that’s perfect for young kids. Our home is brimming with things for our kids to do from our crafts closet, to our toy room, to our finished garage that we’ve turned into a playspace for our kids, to our grassy backyard where the kids love to play soccer, football, tag and practice their gymnastics. We also love taking our kids for walks, bike rides, and scooter rides in the neighborhood, or playing games with the neighbors across our yards.
Having lived in LA for 10 years now, we’ve really grown to love Southern California and our kids are loving it too. We love LA because there’s so much to do here for adults and for kids. We’re just minutes from the beach, some great museums for kids of all ages, and of course all of LA’s sports teams, incredible music venues, and amazing hikes.
Braxton is 4 years old, and is the sweetest big brother to his two younger siblings. He’s inherited the nickname maximum action, which was Jared’s nickname as a kid, because he is so energetic and just non-stop movement and talking.
Rylan is 2 years old, and she is the most fearless, independent little girl. She loves to climb all over playgrounds and try things even bigger kids won’t, and she loves doing things herself.
Jett was born in April, 2021 and is racing to catch up to his older brother and sister. He’s the happiest, smiliest baby and would love another little brother or sister to share all that he’s learning with.
We both come from close families who mean the world to us! Jared is the youngest of four siblings and Hannah is the middle of 7 siblings, all at various points of starting their own families so there are tons of cousins that our kids love to hang out with. Most of our family is still in the midwest so we take frequent trips back to Wisconsin to visit. Jared’s parents live in the capitol city, Madison, where our kids love to visit the zoo, the children’s museum, and the local parks where Jared played as a kid.
Hannah’s family is just an hour away on the family farm where she grew up. Our kids love spending time on the farm, taking four wheeler and tractor rides, and checking out the cows, horses, chickens, and puppies.
In between our trips to visit them, our home is a revolving door of family coming to visit and stay with us. They’re all so supportive of us, our marriage, and now our eventual adoption.
Creating memories and traditions is one of our favorite parts of parenting. Each big holiday we have a day dedicated to decorating, playing themed music and baking treats or some other activity to get our kids excited. Then we try to get together with friends and family for as many events as we can.
Besides all the holidays we get together for, our families and extended families have a ton of events that we try to stay involved in. Whether it’s renting a lake house and boats, or the camping trip, or the family reunions, our summers are always full of fun family traditions.
Our two main goals as parents are to raise strong, confident, happy, good people who do good in the world, and to create a strong family who will always love and support each other. We want to be able to open as many doors for our kids as we can and allow them to find their own path in the world and what makes them happy.
Growing up, both our houses were often the one to host gatherings, and we both loved the welcoming atmosphere. Valuing that close bond with our families, and building that with others is one of the values we’ve always shared and want to pass on now as parents ourselves. If we can connect with a birth mother who is interested in being a part of the child’s life, we would be excited to welcome the added love to our family.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! Hopefully you can envision the life your child might have with our family, and know that if chosen, your child would be surrounded by so much love. With 3 loving siblings, 4 incredible grandparents, 16 aunts and uncles, and 11 cousins and counting, there is a big family that can’t wait to welcome your child. We are so excited to make this dream of expanding our family through adoption a reality, and truly hope to find an amazing birth mother to take this journey with us.
