Jeff and Christine

HELLO! We are Jeff and Christine from San Jose, California.

We want to start off by saying thank you. Thank you so much for even picking up our profile in the midst of what we can only imagine must be an extremely difficult decision for you. Please know that no matter what you decide to do, we support you.  Adoption has been on our hearts since the very beginning of our relationship. While it may not be the traditional route in building a family, it is the route that we truly feel we are meant to take. We have both always felt an immense desire to be parents and are so excited to experience parenthood together and to welcome a child into our lives.  Thank you once again for taking the time to get to know a little bit more about us. We have so much respect for you and are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers as you seek out the path that is right for you and your child.

With love,

Jeff + Christine

OUR STORY

We met while we were both at graduate school in Georgia. On one of our first nights there, my (Jeff’s) program was hosting a welcome party that Christine ended up attending. She knocked me off my feet the first time I saw her! I thought she was fun and easy to talk to. And I (Christine) was immediately attracted to Jeff because he was (and is) just so funny, caring, and outgoing. After dating for a year, we got engaged at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. Jeff proposed with a ring he created using the stone my late father had given my mom. It was perfect. We got married in Charleston, South Carolina and just celebrated our five year anniversary!

We love to explore the world together and call ourselves the Road Trip Warriors. We frequently take trips to explore new towns and are slowly crossing off visiting all of the national parks. When traveling, we really enjoy finding unique places to stay! What we love most about our relationship is that it’s a true partnership. We can always count on each other to take care of the other person, to pick each other up when we’re feeling down, to celebrate each other’s victories, and to work together to accomplish our dreams.

WHY ADOPTION

Adoption is our first choice in starting our family! It’s something I (Christine) have always hoped for and luckily I married a man who was open to and excited about it as well. For us, it’s more about having a family together and less about how our children come to us. We know that adoption is the absolute right path for us and we are so excited to welcome a child into our family through this process.MEET CHRISTINE

I think love and family are the true meaning of life so the thought of having a child that Jeff and I can care for makes my heart feel like it’s going to burst. I can’t wait to help our future child experience all that life has to offer and teach them new things! I am looking forward to all the snuggles, story times, baby-parent classes, and helping them reach all of the “firsts.”

Christine is such an amazing woman! I truly admire so many qualities that she possesses and am so grateful for the privilege to call her my wife. There is no one else that I would rather spend this journey called life with than her. My life is just plain better with her in it, and I believe that our future child will quickly come to feel the same way. I am so excited at the thought of growing our family and raising a child with her. Christine is sweet, caring, fun, creative, and one of the most dedicated individuals I have ever met. She exudes a motherly aura and will make an incredible mother. I have no doubt that she will create countless special memories for our future child and the thought of spending those moments with them makes me the happiest guy alive.” -JEFFMEET JEFF

I have an incredible desire to be a dad! For me that means being there for a child and helping them learn and grow. I’m really looking forward to introducing our future child to the world and the great outdoors. I am excited to see what they end up being passionate about. Whatever it may be, I can’t wait to be their number one fan!

Jeff is truly one of a kind. He is so personable! His empathetic personality makes him an amazing person to go to for advice or just a good heartfelt chat. He genuinely loves getting to know people and is a great listener. He accepts and appreciates everyone as they are and is the least judgmental person I have ever met. I have so much confidence that he will be able to help guide our future child through any challenges they may face while also giving them the independence they need to grow. His goofy sense of humor, zest for life, and unending supply of energy will make him such a fun and hands on kind of dad. I have no doubt your child will love him just as much as I do and I can’t wait to witness that bond!” -CHRISTINEMEET DAMIEN

Meet our little yorkipoo and resident squirrel patrol, Damien Boots! Damien is eleven years old but is still as spunky as ever and loves to run and play. He is also a big fan of belly rubs, cuddles and his teepee. Damien adores kids and we’re sure he will be a great big dog brother!

OUR HOME

We live in San Jose, California. It is a great city with lots of places to visit and tons of fun activities for families. We live in a 4 bedroom home that we completely renovated. We poured a lot of our own blood, sweat and tears into the renovation and feel so proud to call this place our home! We have a big fenced-in backyard with a pergola and lawn area. Our house sits at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in a diverse neighborhood that is filled with families. There is a park with a playground right at the end of our court and an even larger park just a few streets over that holds a lot of community events and seasonal celebrations. Our school district has some wonderful elementary school options!  Home for us is a place where we can have good quality time with each other. It is where we fill the rooms with memories and decorations that tell our story. It is where all of our travel, business, and family dreams start!

OUR FAMILIES

We live about fifteen minutes away from all of my (Christine’s) family. My immediate family consists of my mom (Liz), stepdad (Paul), little sister (Heather), older stepsister (Lauren), and younger stepsister (Clare). My aunt, uncle, and three cousins also live nearby and we see them all the time. Between all of us, there always seems to be a birthday, anniversary, wedding, promotion or completely made up reason to celebrate with each other! They will be very involved in our future child’s life and are all beyond excited for the new addition to our family!

My (Jeff’s) mom (Carol) and dad (Ray) live in Chesapeake, Virginia and my older sister (Meredith), brother-in-law (Ashley) and our two nieces (Abby and Riley) live in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We talk and FaceTime with them regularly and take an annual vacation together- usually a cruise! It’s important to us that our future child knows my family just as well as Christine’s even though we live on opposite coasts. I am also very close with my large extended family, most of whom live in the Virginia Beach area as well.THESE ARE OUR COMMITMENTS TO YOU:

Put family first: Our child and the relationship we have with them will always be our number one priority no matter what and we will be there for them through all of their ups and downs. We will make sure to have lots of quality family time with just us and also with our wonderful extended families.

Provide unconditional love: In our family you are accepted and loved for your entire true self. Our quirks and differences are celebrated here!

Listen: It is so important to us that our child knows that they have a voice in family decisions. We will listen to their opinions and truly take their feelings and thoughts into consideration.

Create memories: Whether it’s small day to day things like going to the park or leaving notes in their lunch box, or magical holidays and big family trips, we will make sure our child has wonderful memories to look back on. We can’t wait to share some of our favorite family traditions with them!

Foster growth, learning and exploration: We are so excited to introduce our child to as many new places, cultures and experiences as possible. We hope to instill a sense of boldness and adventure in them.

Encourage passions: We will support our child in any interest that they may want to explore and if they decide something is not for them, we are okay with that too. No matter what they end up being passionate about, we will always be there cheering them on!

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for considering our family. We are truly honored and humbled. We want you to know that should you choose adoption and if you see us as a good match for you and your child, we will love them unconditionally and do everything we possibly can to help them learn, grow and have a happy and fulfilling life. We will practice open communication and your child will always know the story of how our paths crossed out of love for them.
