Hi! I’m Jimmy from California and I’m thankful that you are considering me as a potential father for your child.

My life goal has always been to be a dad. I trace it all the way back to a Volvo commercial from the 1990s where a single dad buckles his daughter into her car seat. She's chatting about nonsense when he puts her into her car seat and she is still gabbing when he gets in to drive away. The ad then said: “ Volvo: Because you protect the ones you love”. That ad has resonated with me since, and specifically, the idea that a dad will do anything for his child. I will be that dad.

Nothing is more important to me than my family's and my health, happiness and wellbeing. I left New York 10 years ago for a slower and sunnier life in Los Angeles and Palm Springs and so that I could be closer to family. I live 5 blocks away from my brother, and my parents will be moving west to Los Angeles to join us when I adopt. My nights and weekends are filled with hikes, yoga, farmers markets, theater, comedy shows and anything else that gives me quality time with friends and family.

During the workday, I’m fortunate to lead the Corporate Legal team at Paramount Pictures. I have always loved movies, and my team has helped bring movies like “Top Gun: Maverick” and “SpongeBob” to the big screen. Even better, Paramount is incredibly supportive of my adoption.

Family and work is a balance for any parent. I’m fortunate that (1.) I work from home three out of five workdays, (2.) My parents will be moving to Los Angeles to help me raise your child, (3.) I live 9 minutes from my office, which has on-site day care, and (4.) I will have daily in-home childcare. Your child is always #1.

I’m a “pizza bagel," with an Italian father and Jewish mother. Both sides of my Italian/Jewish background emphasize good food, loud conversation and family first. Think rigatoni bolognese as a Sunday night comfort food, 1+ desserts per person at holidays (e.g., 6 people = a minimum of 8 desserts), belly laughs, and phone calls/texts with each every day. I already know that my dad will be ready to play any and every sport with your child, my mom will be a helicopter grandmom (swooping in for every scraped knee), and my brother will make sure your child is the fastest kid to scale Runyon Canyon Park and outfitted with swagger.

Your child will also be surrounded by 9,000 “uncles and aunts”. My friends are an extended family and are all beyond excited to welcome a child into our lives. No matter what, your child will always be laughing and smiling and knowing that they are loved by everyone in their life.

Because I grew up close to my college, my family always hosted all of my college friends for the holidays when they could not make it to their own homes. That’s how I approach holidays now, and I’m so happy to have so many friends join me and my family at my house now.

In Los Angeles. I live in a pale-yellow craftsman from 1903 that I’ve updated. I painted my house yellow because I wanted a house that made me happy every time I saw it. And it does. I have two rocking chairs on my porch (because apparently, I’m 90 and Southern), live one block from a park/playground, and host dinners, game nights and holidays from a huge dining room table.

I also split my time in Palm Springs, where my brother and I have a house. It’s my escape from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles and a great place to welcome family and friends from across the country.

I am also a big fan of skiing and try to take weekend trips to Big Bear or larger trips to Utah when there’s snow. Packing up the car, driving to the mountains, and skiing as a family are some of my fondest childhood memories. I would love to see your child making a giant “pizza pie” with their skis while cruising down the mountain with me.

Although it would be amazing if your child and I shared similar interests so that we could enjoy them together, I am more excited to see what interests they develop and helping them explore those. As a baseline though, I’m a huge fan of theater (don’t worry, I’m not a stage dad in training), tennis (though I play a slow game like a 90-year-old man), the New York Times crossword, the Spanish language (I still take lessons), comedy shows, and the comedy show that is all of my friends. I was in a sketch comedy group in college and gravitate toward people with amazing senses of humor.

I know that you are making one of the biggest decisions of your life in selecting the parent of your child. I can't imagine how difficult that choice must be but, if I'm so lucky as to have you select me, you can rest assured that you have selected someone who will give 110% of himself each and every second of every day to being the best father imaginable to your child. As a future single father, you know that I already value a child (your child) above all else and that will never change. They will be my heart.
