We are excited for our adoption journey and approach it with admiration and intentionality. While adoption and pregnancy have their highs and lows, we hope to build a connection and be a source of support. We want you to feel respected—not because you may choose us as parents—but because you are a person, a woman, and a mother who matters. As a couple in education and medicine, we are passionate about communities rooted in vulnerability, kindness, and compassion. We are a Latino and Filipino couple who value family and friendships, and spread love through food, music, travel, and nature. Our current season of life feels settled and full of purpose, and we are ready to build a family. We both work in industries rooted in giving and service, and choosing to adopt feels aligned with who we are and what we value. We hope to be a source of stability and love for both a child and birth mother. Families can look many different ways – they grow to include the people we choose to love and invite into our lives. We see open adoption not as a limitation, but as an invitation for a child to be surrounded by even more love.

We have been together since 2017, meeting while Julieann was in medical school, and Eric had just finished graduate school. Like many millennials, we met on a dating app. Julieann had lived in Seattle for years but barely explored it, too focused on school—so she saw dating as a chance to finally have fun. Our relationship started over sushi, and since then, we have enjoyed traveling, surfing, snowboarding, concerts, and a lot of time in nature together. Our relationship is grounded in emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and open communication. Being from different cultures can be challenging, but it's one of our greatest strengths - our differences have taught us to approach relationships with curiosity and a desire to learn.

I'm a Filipino American, Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist, with a deep passion for women's health, gut health, and chronic pain. Helping women feel empowered and fully themselves is my calling. Music lives in my soul — RandB, hip hop, neo soul. I love to sing and play ukulele. My life experiences have shaped me into someone who leads with empathy, connects deeply with others, and tries to meet people exactly where they are. More than anything, I want to raise our future child free from shame, with an unshakable sense of belonging and worthiness.

Julieann's love of family, community, and adventure is what most bonds me to her.

She revels in rotating through our cookbooks and discovering new restaurants - we love Asian and Latin mostly. She is a natural caretaker who makes everyone around her feel nourished, welcomed, and at ease. Julieann brings deep empathy to her work as a doctor and extends that same compassion to me, our friends, and our families. I know she will bring that same warmth and care to our future child. I love her infectious laugh, energy, and generous spirit and am overjoyed at the thought of raising a child with her.

I'm a calm, steady person who rarely reacts with anger and finds real joy in making the people I love feel safe and supported...and to laugh. I grew up between the mountains and beaches of Ecuador, visited 65 countries, and I'm an advanced open water scuba diver — adventure and curiosity have always been at the center of who I am.

As a nonprofit director advocating for stronger public education funding, my work is an extension of my values. I can't wait to bring that same sense of wonder and possibility to our child.

An old soul, Eric is grounded, wise, and steady in a way that puts everyone at ease.

His secure sense of self has taken him around the world, brought him success in his career, and earned him deep, lasting friendships. He sees the good in people and meets everyone without judgment. He loves nature and feels most at home in the ocean — I call him my little fish. At work, he leads with fairness and care, knowing each person's strengths and challenges. His wisdom, patience, and intelligence will make him a wonderful father - one who will honor our child's natural gifts, nurture their passions, and guide them with love.

Rumi is a German Short-hair Pointer/Pitbull mix, who we adopted from a shelter at 8 weeks old. He's been an integral part of our family for 5 years now. Raising him has allowed us to sharpen our caregiving skills as a couple—from the vet visits, to bathing him, to making sure he's well fed and avoiding his allergies (chicken). He is a loving dog who has a special love for babies and small children.

He shows his love by giving kisses and cuddling.

We live in a beautiful coastal town about 30 minutes north of Seattle, Washington. Our home is five minutes from the Puget Sound beaches, with views of both the Cascades and the Olympics. Within a mile are five parks where we walk our dog, trail run, pick berries, and photograph seasonal blooms. Our town has a tight knit community, excellent schools, and a great mix of small businesses, a lively farmers market, and a fun coffee and food scene.

Our three bedroom rambler is one of our favorite places to be. We love tending our garden, caring for our indoor plants, and filling our home with artwork. Whether we’re hosting friends or relaxing in the living room with a book or a good series, home is where we feel most grounded.

Most weekends we’re out exploring—hiking to Meadowdale Beach, wandering Southwest County Park, or heading to the mountains or ocean to snowboard, hike, or surf. We can’t wait to share these places, seasons, and adventures with our child and help them feel connected to our community.

Julieann's parents immigrated from the Philippines, each from a family of 9 to 10 siblings — so family has always meant something big and beautifully loud. As an only child, she never felt alone. Her cousins were her siblings, growing up together and learning the values of friendship, loyalty, and belonging. Music ran through everything — every Christmas, the cousins put on holiday shows the whole family looked forward to. Her vision of a loving home is filled with music, laughter, dancing, karaoke, games, and lots of food.

Eric comes from a warm family rooted in Ecuador and Kentucky. His parents are loving and supportive, staying close through visits, calls, and shared trips. His extended family is multicultural and openhearted, with a history of caring for children in need. He has remained in daily contact with his 3 best friends since childhood.

Together, we've built a chosen family of dear friends — people we travel and celebrate with, who will play a meaningful role in mentoring our future child.
