We are Matt and Kali from Georgia! We respect and admire your courageous decision. We know this is the hardest decision that you will ever have to make and hopefully getting to know us will help put your mind at ease as you consider adoption. We adopted our wonderful baby girl, Alyssa, in March of 2019. She has brought us so much joy and happiness into our lives and we can’t imagine our lives without her. We are so excited to grow our family again through adoption. We hope you feel the unconditional love and commitment we have for each other and ultimately the love we would provide your child.
Hello and Thank You!
About Us, Told By Matt
Our relationship is built on love, trust, communication and a good amount of laughter. On our first date, I was so taken by how awesome Kali is that I invited her to my house for a cookout with my extended family the next day (an easy no pressure second date). Kali already had plans that day but she did call me on the way home from our first date and texted me first thing on Monday morning. Needless to say we were both smitten with each other and have been inseparable ever since.
The Proposal, Told By Kali
On a weekend trip to Nashville (for pancakes) Matt suggested that we stop at a winery in the mountains. I didn't know it, but he had arranged to have the winery help him surprise me. Matt said he wanted a picture outside and positioned me facing the camera and said "you stand there and look at the camera and I'll stand here and . . . " I noticed movement in my peripheral vision, so I turned and saw that Matt had dropped to one knee and pulled out a ring box.
Things We Like to Do as a Family
We love spending time together, whether it’s a road trip to the mountains or hanging out at home playing games. We enjoy traveling to new places and experiencing new things. We like to cook and grill out together. We recently built our forever home and love to entertain and have family and friends over.
About Matt, by Matt
I was born and raised in Georgia. I come from a very big family (I have 6 brothers and 3 sisters) and we are all very close. Growing up in a big family was so much fun, there was always someone to play with. Of course, pretty much all of my clothes were somebody else’s first. After high school, I went to The Citadel, a military college in South Carolina. After graduating I spent 5 years as an Air Force officer, with the last 2 in England.
I returned to the Atlanta area in 2007 and started a specialty landscaping business with my brother-in-law. For the last 13 years I have been able to do what I love and truly enjoy going to work every day.
I love being a dad. Everyday is exciting as I watch Alyssa grow and learn. My favorite time of day is “coffee time” when Alyssa and daddy spend a few minutes together each morning talking about our plans for the day and all of the animals we can see from the back porch.

More About Matt, By Kali
Matt is the most awesome guy I know. He is always making me laugh whether it is cracking jokes or interpreting our dog’s thoughts. He loves to laugh and is a huge goofball! Matt has been an uncle since the age of 13. He is adored by all his nieces and nephews. All of them talk about how they always want to go visit uncle Matt. Matt is also a great provider for our family. He is a great listener and can easily make you feel at ease if you are having a difficult day. He is an amazing father!
About Kali, by Kali
I grew up in San Diego, California. I have one older sister and a younger brother. In college I majored in Child and Family Development, and after spending all of my life in San Diego, I packed all of my belongings into my two-door Honda Accord and my mom and I drove across the country to Atlanta, Ga to take my first job as a professional nanny. I was a nanny for over 15 years. These days, I am a stay at home mom, and I love spending my time with Alyssa, taking her to the park and on walks. I can’t wait to start taking her to music and gymnastics classes this spring. I enjoy cooking and Alyssa loves to be my Sous Chef (her idea of a Sous Chef is sitting in her high chair eating snacks while she watches mommy cook). My favorite time of day is reading to Alyssa before bedtime. By you considering adoption you are helping us fulfill our dreams of growing our family.

About Kali, By Matt
Kali is my favorite person. She is kind and caring and always thinks about others first. Kali is an amazing mother, she loves playing with Alyssa and help her learn and grow. She also loves to cook and truly enjoys trying out new recipes, which is great for me because I love to eat delicious food! One of my favorite things about Kali is her ability to connect with people and make friends wherever she goes. Kali loves to laugh and has a great sense of humor. Kali has so much love to give. There is no one I’d rather spend time with, we are an awesome team.
Alyssa was born in March of 2019. She has brought so much joy into our lives. She is a curious and fun loving little girl. She is also very funny and makes us laugh all the time. She enjoys traveling as much as we do. She has been in both the Atlantic and Pacific ocean already!. Alyssa loves the outdoors, we often take her on day trips to the mountains or boat rides on the lake. We would love to grow our family and we know Alyssa will be an amazing big sister.
Our families are very important in both of our lives. Matt’s family mostly lives in the Atlanta area and we often hang out with them. Matt has 9 siblings and 22 nieces and nephews so your child will have plenty of cousins to play with. We love to host holiday celebrations at our house and usually have more than 30 family members over! For Christmas dinner everyone brings finger foods rather than having a big sit down dinner. It is great fun (I specialize in pigs-in-a-blanket!) Another favorite tradition of our get togethers is a game called “Big Happy Family” and it is a rite of passage for the younger kids to be old enough to play with the adults.
Kali’s family lives in San Diego, California. We try to visit twice a year. Kali’s mom, Maureen, likes to make a few trips each year to Atlanta to see us. Her sister and her husband have two kids age 9 and 7. During the holidays we all get together and cook yummy food and use recipes that have been in our family for decades.

- Homemade Ice Cream during Family Reunions
- Celebrating the dogs’ birthdays (with cake)

- Reading “The Night Before Christmas” on Christmas Eve
Our Pets, Henna and Rocky
We have two fabulous dogs, Henna and Rocky. Henna was a rescue and is a very loving dog. Rocky is a Lab mix and he is a cuddle bug. I can’t imagine our lives without our fur babies.
Our Home and Community
We recently built our dream home on a wooded 3 acre lot in a beautiful suburb of Atlanta. Our lot has a private lake right next door which is great for fishing and kayaking. We love that it is a nice wooded area (with occasional deer sightings from the back porch) and also has easy access to the city. Our neighborhood is pretty small but we are a short drive from parks and hiking trails. The schools in our area are excellent. We are looking forward to growing our family and raising children in our lovely neighborhood.
