Hi! We’re excited to share our story with you. We’re Jackie and Kara from Connecticut! We know this journey is filled with so many emotions, and we deeply admire the love and strength it takes to consider adoption. Please know that if our paths are meant to cross, we will support and honor you every step of the way. Adoption holds an incredibly special place in our hearts and within our families, and becoming parents would be the greatest gift imaginable. We have always dreamed of becoming mothers, and adoption has always felt like a natural part of our story. Having grown up surrounded by adoption in our families, we learned early that family is not defined by biology, but by love, commitment, and connection. We are grateful
to be on this journey and excited to welcome a child into our hearts and family.

Adoption has always been a meaningful part of both of our families. Kara was adopted, along with her older sister and grandmother, and Jackie also has an aunt who was adopted. Because of this, adoption has always been something we viewed through the lens of love, family, and deep connection. We always knew it was something we hoped would one day be part of our own story, too. We are so excited to raise a child surrounded by love, support, and acceptance. We hope your child always knows they are loved not only by us, but by you as well — and that they have three women cheering them on, supporting them, and loving them every step of the way.

We met through a dating app in November 2014 and quickly became inseparable. From the start, we bonded over our love of family, friends, traveling, cooking, and sports. More importantly, we realized we shared the same values — gratitude, kindness, empathy, and finding joy in the little things.

Over the years, we’ve built a life that feels simple, fun, and full. We spend a lot of our time with family, especially our young nephews, who always keep us laughing. We also enjoy gardening, small house projects, long walks, kayaking, vacationing in Maine, movie nights, and trying new restaurants together.

Whether we’re traveling somewhere new or just relaxing at home, we truly enjoy being together and creating a life filled with love, laughter, and meaningful moments. We can’t wait to one day share that life with a child. The moments we treasure most aren’t the big ones—it’s the game nights, family gatherings, weekend adventures, and quiet evenings at home. We’re excited to share those everyday joys with a child.

We’ve created a life that feels peaceful, joyful, and full of love. We love spending time with family, friends, and neighbors, and enjoy each other’s company. One of our favorite things about living in New England is experiencing every season to the fullest. Our summers are often spent on the water kayaking, relaxing at the beach, taking trips to Cape Cod or Maine, and soaking up warm evenings outside. In the spring, we love gardening and planting flowers around our home. We enjoy all of the little traditions each season brings — from cozy fall activities like apple picking, to building snowmen in the winter (yes, even at our age!). We truly value the simple moments, quality time with loved ones, and the warm, happy life we’ve built together.

I am adopted, just like my older sister, and I’m excited about sharing this special connection with my future child. I get the most fulfillment in life from connecting with others and building meaningful relationships. I love creating a home that feels warm, welcoming, and full of love, laughter, and support. Caring for others comes naturally to me. Whether I’m baking, decorating our home, tending to our garden, or simply showing up for the people I love, I put my whole heart into creating joy and togetherness. Some of the things I enjoy most are baking, working out, crocheting, photography, gardening, animals, sunsets, Christmastime, and spending time near the water. I currently work remotely part-time for a sports training company while also running my own small home baking business with my cottage food license. I truly enjoy creating things that make people smile. More than anything, I look forward to becoming a mother. It’s something I’ve wanted for as long as I can remember. I hope to create a home where a child feels deeply loved, supported, encouraged to be themselves, and always knows they have people cheering them on.

Kara is simply a joy to be around. She’s my best friend and sounding board. Kara’s depth of care and love has no end. She is the definition of care giver and I am in awe of her constant ability to be aware of everyone and everything in her life and what they might need. She makes me and everyone around her feel comforted, loved and thought of. What’s most impressive is she not only is sincere, but balances that with an incredible sense of humor. Kara is effortlessly funny and one of the few people that can get me to belly laugh on a daily basis. She is fiercely passionate about her family and protects them at all costs. The value that she puts on family is one of my favorite things about her. I constantly aspire to be like her in so many ways - especially when it comes to her perseverance. Life hasn’t always been easy, but she grows from those experiences and continues to be present and hopeful. Kara bonding with Sienna, the beloved adopted daughter of family friends.

Sports has been a pillar in my life, even from the very start. So much so that my dad tells me I was named after his favorite NFL player, Jack Lambert. My drive and work ethic landed me a Division I basketball scholarship for college. It was there that I found my second family – my teammates. This diverse group of incredible women are my best friends. My college experience helped propel me into my college basketball coaching career, and I’m heading into year 15 of coaching. I have loved every second of it. I have coached at all levels, Division I, II and III. My unique profession has given me the chance to connect with, support, and mentor 200+ young athletes. Developing relationships with my players has always come natural to me, and it is by far the most rewarding part of my job. The opportunity to form this type of strong, unbreakable bond with a child is what I look forward to most.

You’ll never find someone more passionate about their career, family, and friends than Jackie. She is the hardest worker I know, pouring her heart and soul into everything she does. Jackie is incredibly thoughtful, kind, loving, and outgoing. She’s someone everybody trusts and turns to in times of need. Her ability to listen without judgment and offer wise advice is something I deeply admire about her. She gives the best hugs, and when you’re with her, you feel like you’re home. A natural protector, she’s always looking out for the people she loves—whether it’s family, friends, or her players. Jackie never takes a single moment for granted and cherishes every second spent with her loved ones. She’s also wonderfully goofy, with the best imagination I’ve ever seen in any adult, constantly making up games with our nephews and being the first to play with them as soon as she sees them. She without question, is going to make the most amazing mom. Her playful personality and loving nature helps her connect easily with kids and because of this I know she will thrive in motherhood.

We live in a beautiful and diverse neighborhood that immediately felt like home to us. One of the things we love most is the strong sense of community here — from friendly neighbors, to children playing outside, to our neighborhood park just steps from our front door. A special part of our story is that we were able to buy a home in the same town where Kara grew up and had such a happy childhood. It feels incredibly meaningful to now build our family here and create those same kinds of memories for the child we are fortunate to welcome into our lives.

Our home has a large backyard with plenty of space to run, play, and grow, along with a hill in the front yard that becomes the perfect sledding spot during snowy New England winters. In the warmer months, we spend lots of time outdoors — kayaking nearby, visiting our town’s farmers market in the summer, and making trips to our local pumpkin patch every fall. We also feel very lucky to have family close by. Kara’s parents live just 10 minutes away, and Jackie’s family is only 30 minutes from us, meaning a child in our home would always be surrounded by love, support, and family.

We both come from close-knit families who are always there to support one another through every stage of life. Kara’s immediate family consists of her parents and her older adopted sister, Kimmi, while Jackie’s immediate family consists of her parents, an older brother, and a younger brother. Although our families have different personalities and traditions, they share the same strong values of love, loyalty, and togetherness. Kara’s family is nurturing, calm, and supportive, while Jackie’s family is adventurous, playful, and full of energy. Together, they create a warm and welcoming environment filled with laughter, encouragement, and strong family bonds.

We feel incredibly lucky to already be surrounded by so much love and support as we prepare to welcome a child into our family. As we prepare to welcome a child into our family, they will be surrounded by cousins close in age, including our nephews Colin, Nolan, and Conor. We are also fortunate to have close friends who are foster and adoptive parents, and watching them grow into loving families has made us even more excited for the day we become parents ourselves. Jackie also remains very close with many of her former Division I basketball teammates and coaches, who continue to be an important part of our lives. Together, our family and friends create a close-knit, loving community that will provide a child with endless encouragement, support, and a sense of belonging.

Becoming parents has been one of the greatest hopes of our lives. We look forward to creating a home where a child feels safe, supported, and deeply loved—a place where they always know they belong. We hope to raise a child who is kind, compassionate, curious, and confident in who they are. We will encourage them to pursue their passions, celebrate their individuality, and remind them that they are loved unconditionally every step of the way. As parents, we promise to show up consistently through both the ordinary and extraordinary moments. We will be there to cheer them on, comfort them through challenges, celebrate milestones, and help them navigate life’s ups and downs with confidence and resilience.

We promise to create a home filled with laughter, family traditions, adventure, and meaningful connections. Most importantly, we promise to listen, to learn, and to love wholeheartedly. We also promise to speak openly and honestly about their adoption story. We will honor and celebrate where they came from, and we will always hold space for the love, sacrifice, and courage that made their story possible. Our greatest hope is that a child grows up knowing they are deeply loved—not only by us, but by all the people whose lives came together to help create their story.

We want you to know how much respect we have for you and the love behind this decision. We understand that adoption is a profound act of love. It is emotional, complex, and filled with courage, and we do not take that lightly. We recognize the weight of this decision and the trust it requires, and we are deeply grateful that you have taken the time to learn about our family.
