Hello! We’re Katelyn & Tommy from Ashburn, Virginia. This is not a journey you need to walk alone. We’re honored to be part of your story. We’re an adventurous, loving couple who are so excited to grow our family. We believe in embracing every moment life has to offer, whether it’s traveling, cooking, or enjoying cozy nights at home. We can’t wait to share our love, and laughter with a child. But more than anything, we want you to know that we’re here for you. Not just in words, but in presence, compassion, and understanding.

We always felt like our family was going to be unique and beautiful. We have written a note to each other every year on our anniversary and these notes have always had future aspirations of raising a child together. 10 years later we are still dreaming of the life that we aspire to provide for a child. We are committed to providing a life full of love, guidance, and opportunities, where a child can explore their passions, express their individuality, and thrive. We also hold deep respect and admiration for birth families. We understand that considering adoption is an act of profound love and courage.

We believe every step of our story has led us here—with open hearts, ready to grow our family. We believe our journey together was meant to be. We first crossed paths on an elevator during our freshman year of college. Fast forward, and we recently celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary—an incredible milestone filled with lots of love. Over the past decade, we’ve shared a passion for travel, exploring over 15 countries and embracing new cultures along the way. When we’re not adventuring, we love spending time at home—cooking, exercising, or simply snuggling up with our two dogs for a cozy night of TV. Our journey to starting a family has taken a different path, but we believe everything happens for a reason. We hope and pray that meeting you is that reason!

I’m an energetic person who has always wanted to become a mom. As the oldest of three girls, I am driven, creative, and passionate about nurturing growth. For 14 years, I have worked at a Title One elementary school, helping children learn and thrive. I also volunteer my summers to support students’ progress. While teaching is my passion, I am equally excited to focus on raising a child of my own. I care deeply about others, volunteering at food banks and supporting my community. I love both dressing up for special occasions and cozy nights watching movies—reality TV is my guilty pleasure! I stay active through exercise and enjoy walks with my dogs, Max and Phoebe. Home is my happy place, where I love decorating, hosting, and creating a warm, and welcoming environment. I am dedicated to providing a loving, safe, and joyful home. I believe in encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning, while offering unconditional love and support.

It’s hard to put into words how incredible Katelyn is. She has a heart made for helping, and every single day, she gives so much of herself to those around her. Katelyn has a way of making even the smallest moments special. Whether it’s sneaking mini M&Ms into my bag before I travel or leaving me little notes around the house just to remind me she loves me, she constantly finds ways to make me feel cherished. She makes me laugh with the silly songs she sings to our puppies—even when she doesn’t know I’m listening—and her joy is absolutely infectious. Whether we are snuggled up on the couch under a blanket, swimming with sharks in the Bahamas, or having a picnic beneath the Eiffel Tower in Paris, every moment is an adventure with her by my side. She is my greatest blessing! She was born to love, to nurture, and to bring warmth into the lives of others—which is why it’s no surprise she became a teacher.

I am a driven VP of Sales at a marketing firm for technology. I work from home, which means I have plenty of time to be present in a child’s life. My goal is always to provide for those I love. I love traveling, and experiencing new places. While I work hard, I also love to laugh and enjoy comedy. Cooking has become a fun hobby for me, I take pride in making dinner so Katelyn can relax after a long day. Family is my top priority. I’m especially excited about adoption, as I have relatives who have been adopted and have learned so much from their experiences. I’m looking forward to providing a loving, supportive home for a child as well as creating and sharing moments together!

You cannot find better than Tommy. He provides structure to my creative world all while bedazzling me with facts about beavers or the mandala affect. His never-ending desire to please and provide for me astonishes me daily. He is also my source of a smile with the “dad” jokes he puts in my lunchbox. He is quick to go help an elderly neighbor in need, he is selfless and loves to help others. Tommy provides me an all-encompassing love. It is unwavering and I am incredibly lucky. We have fun just simply dancing in our kitchen on a Friday while eating pizza or pondering life’s interesting facets. He never ceases to work hard and provide for his family. He has given me the world and I can’t wait to see what he can do for our future child! Tommy is my source of safety and peace after a long hectic day. It just is an added bonus that he is extremely witty and funny!

Our home is a place of joy, where imagination is encouraged and every day is a chance for discovery. We believe in dancing in the kitchen, stargazing in the backyard, and finding magic in the little moments. We live in a three-story townhouse in beautiful Loudoun County—one of the more affluent and diverse areas in the U.S.—with a creek behind our home that’s stunning year-round. Katelyn’s favorite is when the bluebells bloom; Tommy loves the peacefulness of winter snow. Loudoun County offers top-rated elementary schools and a vibrant community. Our neighborhood has a pool with children’s areas, tennis and basketball courts, and playgrounds. We’re 30 minutes from Washington, D.C., and our fenced yard is perfect for a future playground. We live just 15 minutes from Katelyn’s family and spend lots of time with them, especially our 3-year-old niece, Ivy. Tommy’s family is a short two-hour drive away, and we cherish holidays together.

We are proud dog parents of Max and Phoebe! They are both Havanese and extremely loving. Max loves to sit near the window and play with the kids in the neighborhood. Phoebe, the younger sister, has a zest for life and loves to play, however is a huge snuggle buddy. They both love to play with our niece Ivy, and would be enthusiastic and automatic best friends to any child! We also have a 17 year old lazy cat named Josie who we adopted when we first met. She loves to snuggle and nap.

Katelyn’s Side: My family lives nearby and we spend a lot of time together. Tommy enjoys fishing with my dad. I have two younger sisters, who live near by. My one sister also has a daughter named Ivy who is 3 years old. We love to watch her and enjoy spending weekends doing fun activities together. We enjoy taking trips to the beach as a family. We’re also football fans and love Sunday’s watching the games! They are excited for us to grow our family and eager to love any new family member we are blessed to adopt.

Tommy’s Side: My family lives two hours away, where I grew up, in Staunton Virginia. It’s a small town and we go to visit my family often. My sister lives closer and has two children; 3 and 1. We just enjoyed going to my nephew’s baptism. I enjoy going on ski trips with my family as well as we usually spend most holidays visiting them. I come from a diverse family and 2 of my family members are adopted. Understanding the impact of adoption has inspired us to navigate our adoption journey with support and appreciation!

Words we have dreamed to express. Being a teacher, Katelyn naturally turns every moment into a fun learning experience. We think life is precious and filled with endless opportunities for discovery and growth. Our approach to parenting is rooted in promoting happiness and creating an environment where a child feels worthy, beautiful, and capable of anything. We believe in giving the freedom to explore, make mistakes, and love life. Our home will be a safe space where curiosity is welcomed, emotions are validated, and self-expression is encouraged. We’ll laugh often and treasure life’s precious moments, whether it’s soaking up the sun or savoring the simple joy of building blanket forts together. Tommy is witty, funny, and consistent, while Katelyn is sensitive and imaginative. Together, we create a harmonious environment where routines provide comfort, and spontaneity sparks joy. It’s about putting sprinkles on dessert, cherishing small joys, and creating lasting memories.

We have so much respect for the strength it takes to make a decision that comes from a place of deep love and courage. We hope you feel the warmth of our thoughts surrounding you.
