Hello! We’re Katie and Tony from Huntington Beach, California along with our fur babies, Timothy and Zipper. We are truly humbled and deeply honored to be considered as you search for the best family to raise your child into a thoughtful, generous, tolerant, and kind individual. From the start of our second date, we both knew that starting a family together was something we wanted. As we approached our 40s, we understood that having biological children might be challenging, but our hearts were drawn to the beautiful idea of adoption. The thought of being chosen by a birth parent to love, nurture, and raise their child is something that fills us with such gratitude and purpose. We also deeply value the idea of building a connection with our child’s birth parent(s), so they can have peace of mind knowing their child is thriving in a home filled with love and support. We are eager to embrace the journey ahead and create a family that is bound by love and choice.

We met after each of us had dusted ourselves off from relationships that had lasted over a decade. We were immediately struck by the connection between us. Katie was captivated by Tony’s wide range of interests: from live music and theater, to filmmaking, Disney, Harry Potter, and just about every sport imaginable. Tony was equally drawn to Katie’s quick wit, her role in a professional improv comedy troupe, her whimsical collection of Crayola crayons, and her deep love for dogs. It didn’t take long for us to realize that Tony’s passion for filmmaking and Katie’s creative writing background were a perfect match. Our first short film—written and directed by Katie, filmed and edited by Tony—went on to win several film festivals! We love cozying up with our dogs to watch movies and TV shows, exploring Disneyland, catching live performances, and spending quality time with our families.

As a proud middle child, I’m a natural problem solver with a strong sense of responsibility and a solid work ethic. Creativity and humor are at the core of who I am. I’m passionate about improv comedy, performing regularly with a professional troupe on weekends. Because I am just a big kid myself, I share a special bond with my nieces and nephews. My whimsy knows no bounds! I love unicorns, rainbows, and dad-jokes. I collect Crayola crayons and occasionally melt crayon wax to create art. Last year I entered one of my crayon-melt paintings into the County Fair and, much to my surprise, I won First Place and Best in Class! I am 100% introvert but that doesn't mean I'm shy. I just need some alone time to recharge after a social outing. But family is my heart and home, so spending time with them requires no social battery. My older brother and younger sister and I are all very close. And, of course, I’m clearly my mother's favorite.

I am lucky enough to be able to work 100% remotely as a Training Specialist. I take a lot of pride in my work and am highly valued.

Katie and I clicked instantly! From our very first conversation on the dating app, it felt like we were kindred spirits. On our second date, we went to the beach and sat on the wall separating the bike path from the sand. We bonded over how much we both loved the smell of bonfires and the ocean. As we sat there talking, it was the first time in a long time I had such an easy, engaging conversation with no awkward pauses. Katie has such a strong connection to family, which I really admire. She’s also deeply devoted to animals, especially dogs, and that’s something I love about her. I respect her work ethic and how she strives to be great at what she does. And even though it’s not her ultimate dream job, she’s still passionate about being a trainer. I love that she does improv and has hobbies that keep her happy. Katie is going to be an amazing mother; I see how great she is with our nieces and nephews—they love having her around. I also love how we can goof around with each other, and how saying “I love you” to her always feels just as special as the first time.

I’m the second oldest of five kids in a musically gifted family—everyone plays an instrument, and all of my sisters have amazing singing voices. When I was 15, I taught myself how to play the drums, and by 18, I was in a band called Synergy. We played all original songs inspired by our favorite ‘90s hard rock bands, won Battle of the Bands, and even recorded an album. Music and live shows are still a big passion of mine. I’m also really into photography and have won a few awards for my work. On top of that, I’m a huge movie buff. I studied film and media production to become a film editor, and I spend a lot of time making and editing independent films, which I enter into festivals whenever I can. I love all sports, especially baseball. Growing up, I played baseball, golf, football, hockey, and was an in-line skater. As an adult, I coached a junior varsity baseball team at a local high school. I’ve always wanted to be a dad, to teach my kids things like music, sports, and photography, and raise them to value family.

I work from home 90% of the time for the Walt Disney Travel Company, which comes with some pretty awesome perks. But the best perk by far? Being able to invite our friends and family to Disneyland for a magical day together! It’s a total win-win—we get to hang out with our loved ones while soaking in all the Disney magic.

When I first met Tony, he greeted me with that smile that made my heart skip a beat. It’s rare for him to flash that big grin in pictures, so when it happens naturally, it still melts my heart, even after all these years. Tony is incredibly gifted and creative when it comes to anything to do with film, sports, photography, design, and so much more. Beyond that, he is one of the most supportive and caring people I know. Tony is an extraordinary uncle to our four nieces and nephews, all under six. To them, he’s *Uncle Tony*, the one who works with Mickey Mouse. He’s the uncle who brought action figures to their house and secretly posed them to create the illusion that the toys were coming to life when the kids weren’t looking. Uncle Tony is the one who makes up the silliest songs just to hear them laugh. Uncle Tony is the person who makes them feel safe, cherished, and loved. Tony wants to be the same kind of father—someone who makes his children feel supported, loved, and truly valued.

Katie and Tony share a deep love for both individual passions and experiences they can enjoy together. Together, they bond over their love for Disney and Disneyland, diving into beloved fandoms like Doctor Who, Firefly, Harry Potter, and Star Wars. They enjoy movies, musicals, and plays, and often attend local concerts. Collecting is a shared hobby, as well as creating special memories with their nieces and nephews through sleepovers and outings. Their love for family, holidays, and exploring new experiences runs deep, often accompanied by playful moments with their dogs, Timothy and Zipper.

We’re lucky to call Huntington Beach, home. Besides being Disneyland annual passholders (of course!), we love visiting Knott’s Berry Farm and, of course, our local beach. We can’t wait to share these spots with our child, but we’re also excited to take them to fun places like the Discovery Cube science center, indoor playgrounds, splash pads, and the local food truck nights we enjoy so much. Huntington Beach really knows how to put on a show when it comes to family-friendly events, especially in the summer! Tony grew up here and is a proud product of the local public schools here—he went to elementary and high school in town. We would love for our child to have the same amazing opportunities and, if they’d like, we’d also consider private school options. Katie went to a private all-girls school for grades 7-12, where she had a fantastic experience. Locally, there are also private high schools that specialize in the arts, and if our child is interested, we’d love to offer them that opportunity as well.

Timothy, a 12-year-old Maltese, and his 10-year-old sister Zipper, a Toy Poodle mix, live a life full of whimsy and treatos. Katie has had them both since they were just four months old—Timothy was the last pup in the pet store window, and Katie cried when she finally held him, feeling an instant bond. Zipper was a stray found hiding under Katie’s car, and from the moment she met Timothy, it was clear that Zipper belonged. Though shy with most people, Zipper instantly adored Tony—and he quickly became her favorite human. Timothy, ever the Mama’s boy, trails Katie everywhere but still curls up by Tony’s feet every night. Together, Tim and Zips are gentle and patient with their little human-cousins and excited to meet their new baby sibling soon.

Tony has four siblings, and they’re very close, living nearby so we can visit them anytime. Now that we are closer to Tony’s brother’s family, we love picking up our niece and nephew from school and spending time with them. Katie’s family is just as close, though they live further away. Katie’s dad and step-mom live in Arkansas but they like to visit as often as possible. Every month, Katie, her mom and step-dad, sister, her husband and their kids have regular outings, from trips to the aquarium to lunches at her parents’ house with board games and fashion shows. Tony stays close with his tight-knit group of childhood friends, and they catch up whenever they’re in town. Katie remains close to a few high school friends and enjoys spending time with them and their families when she can.

Holidays are extra special as we get to celebrate with both families. Thanksgiving is at Katie’s parents’ house, where her brother and his spouse visit from Northern California. The day is filled with food, a competitive game of Taboo, and music with her brother playing the ukulele. The day after Thanksgiving is Tony’s family’s annual Disneyland trip, full of rides, treats, and cherished memories of Tony’s mom, who passed away last year. Christmas Eve is with Katie’s family, and Christmas Day with Tony’s. With nieces and nephews on both sides, the holidays are a joy. We can’t wait for our own little one to grow up surrounded by this big, loving family.
