We realize that this is a decision made out of love and understand the courage that you have for considering adoption.
We have had an amazing experience in adopting our son, Easton, and we are hopeful to make him a big brother through a 2nd adoption. You have our deepest respect, our gratitude and a place in our hearts forever.
About How We Came to Be
We met in May of 2008, introduced to one another by our best friends from high school. Little did they know that in time they’d be standing beside us on our wedding day! We dated for two years then became engaged. We had the wedding of our dreams, attended by our family and friends. We have grown to love each other more and more each day. It was the greatest day of our lives. We are truly so very much in love. The vows we took on our wedding day guide us in our marriage… in sickness and health, for richer or poorer, through good times and bad, our relationship has grown beyond our greatest hopes. Our faith sustains us as our appreciation of one another deepens. We were blessed beyond belief when God made us parents in June of 2017 and we officially became a family of 3!
We are very fortunate to own our own businesses. We have some of the best people around that support us. They are like family to us. We share the parenting responsibilities by working from our home office (we each stay home with Easton 1 or 2 days a week) and Leigh’s mom watches our son during the week as well.
Eric has owned his retail shop for almost 15 years now and absolutely loves helping his customers. He goes above and beyond for each and every one and is proud of the business he has built.
Leigh is the 3rd generation Owner- Operator of her family’s insurance agency. She has worked hard to put together an amazing team and is blessed to work with some of the greatest clients in her industry.
Just for Fun
- We are ROLLER COASTER ENTHUSIASTS! There’s not a roller coaster we won’t ride…well maybe not!
- We own a timeshare that allows us to travel on weekend road trips and as far away as the Bahamas.
- Speaking of road trips, we always pick a book and Leigh reads to Eric while he drives, it’s a tradition we started early in our relationship.
- Every year on Valentine’s Day we eat sushi.
- We have a pool table in our home, it’s great for when we’re hosting big family gatherings because there is always a tournament going on.
A Little About Leigh Through Eric’s Eyes
My wife Leigh is a giver. She is so generous with her time and ability and that’s what I’m most attracted to. She has a funny laugh and a shyness that appears when I least expect it. She is the most amazing mom because she is ready, willing and expectantly waiting for the sacrifices, the sleepless nights, the tears of joy because that’s truly her passion. She looked forward to being a mom her whole life, it’s just who she is. She knows that God is faithful and will continue to bless our family in unimaginable ways and that’s what I love about her most.
A Little About Eric Through Leigh’s Eyes
Eric is the craziest person I know. We just fit, that’s all there is to it. He gives the most amazing hugs and I watch him with our son, Easton, and he really is the most incredible dad. He
stays home with Easton once a week and is building a great relationship with him.
He’s a big kid at heart so he LOVES getting down on the floor & playing with all
Easton’s toys. Eric’s love for life is infectious. He’s got a heart of gold and a smile to match. It took me a long time to find him but it was so worth the wait!
I am a California native with Mid-western values. I would say I’m a mix between Martha Stewart, a southern lady and a Dallas Cowboys raving fan. I love planning parties or events, baking and cooking and I’m a huge football fan. I’ve got my own bowling ball and have been collecting Monopoly games since I was young.
I am happiest when I’m surrounded by friends and family; especially if it’s something I’ve had a hand in planning. From football Sundays to our annual 4th of July BBQs to family gatherings, I love it all. I am an avid historian, love to scrapbook, research our ancestry and am taking up photography thanks to a new camera Eric got me last Christmas.
I have always dreamed of having a family, big or small. The desire to share our lives with a little soul has always thrilled me. They will teach us amazing things and we will teach them in return.
I am so happy to be a mom to Easton, it’s been the greatest joy of my life. I would love to grow our family again through adoption and give Easton a brother or sister he can grow up with.
I love the simple life, probably because I grew up in a small town, but it’s true, simple things in life, like taking my dogs for a walk, playing cards with friends, watching a good movie, going to basketball games, bathtime with Easton, church and a good meal. That’s what life’s all about. I have some of the best friends you could ask for. We go way back, all the way to high school and I’m lucky to spend time with them & their families and love that our kids are growing up together.
Home Sweet Home
We live in a close knit community that is surrounded by parks and our home looks out on distant mountains that are sometimes covered with snow. Our town has pools and a community lake for swimming. Every sport imaginable can be played. It’s truly ideal for raising children. Our backyard is BIG…room for a swing set AND a swimming pool! And of course, home to our loveable dogs, Samson & Delilah.
Meet Samson & Delilah
- Delilah is our 7 year old Great Dane/Lab mix and is the smartest dog you’ll ever meet.
- Samson is our 5 year old Lab/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix and is the most lovable dog ever.
- They are very gentle with EASTON and are super protective of kids, Delilah will be the one sleeping under the crib while Samson will be on the lookout
- WE PRETTY MUCH SPOIL THEM ROTTEN!
The People We Love
Leigh’s mom is one of 9 kids which means we have cousins and 2nd cousins and 3rd cousins that are too many to count. We have family reunions, visit when the fair is in town and cruise together every other year.
Eric’s parents live in Arizona and we get to see them at least once a month since they are both retired. Eric’s sister and her family came to visit this past summer and we spent time at the beach and taking a train to San Diego (Easton’s first time on a train).
We are truly lucky to have some of the best friends around. Eric goes on a weekend camping trip with about 6 guys that he’s known since high school and Leigh meets up with her sorority sisters every couple years. Our friends all surprised us with a meet and greet for Easton when we brought him home … everyone was celebrating!
We were thrilled to get the call that changed our lives forever! In June of 2017 after 2 1/2 years of waiting, God answered our prayers and we became parents to Easton! We have loved every minute of parenthood and are blessed with a very happy, fun-loving baby that loves music, clapping, books read to him and taking long walks with the pups. We grew up with siblings and a big extended family and would love that for Easton too!
Why Our Faith Matters
God has blessed us in unimaginable ways. Our faith has gotten stronger through the adoption process. It has taught us patience and hope and most importantly, God’s perfect timing. Our faith is what guides our marriage, our relationships, our businesses and our lives.
Our favorite verse is Jeremiah 29:11 that reads, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Our Promises to You
- We’ll teach our children to be a good friend, don’t hold grudges or regrets.
- To be kind even to those who don’t deserve it, keep an open mind and don’t judge others.
- To learn from every experience, happiness is in their control.
- To know the difference between needs and wants and to trust your instincts.
- And most importantly to have an attitude of gratitude, give thanks everyday.
