Hello! I’m Lisa from Northern California!
Thank you: I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read about me. I am filled with awe by your love for your baby and your selflessness in your consideration towards adoption. I hope something in here touches your heart and makes you feel secure and happy with placing your child in my warm and loving home. I have always wanted a family and have decided to do so through adoption based on amazing experiences. I first experienced adoption when I was a nanny in college. I watched that young child grow into adulthood, and experiencing her adoption journey has been impactful. My sister and her husband also chose adoption that brought my amazing niece into our family. I find myself in a position with so much love and guidance to give and am excited to start a family and grow our extended family. I look forward to getting to know you and share more with you.
A Little About Me
I was born and raised in California. I ran cross country in High School, worked in a surf shop and babysat. I moved to Northern California for College and have made this my home. I fell in love with all of the outdoor activities that the San Francisco Bay Area has to offer. I spend my weekends outside exploring! I visit my family in Southern California often. I grew up in a great neighborhood and am still close with friends from preschool.
More About Lisa
Things I love to do: I spend my weekends hiking with friends, paddle boarding and listening to live music. The Bay Area has some wonderful outdoor music festivals where we picnic and the kids dance and sing. I like to spend time at Lake Tahoe in the water during the summer and skiing or snowshoeing in the winter. I am the proud aunt to three of the funniest little girls I know. I have run marathons, walked in 60 mile fundraisers, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, paddled in the moonlight and taught preschool in Africa. Being a mom is my next great adventure!
Work life: I just celebrated 10 years with my company last year. I am an account executive for Williams Sonoma in San Francisco. I work with incredibly talented product designers, interior designers and architects. I consider myself so lucky to work alongside these innovative people creating spaces that can be enjoyed for years to come! I work in my home office allowing me a wonderful work/life integration. My manager and I are dear friends that encourage and support each other. I am inspired each day at work!
My neighborhood and community: I live in a small beach community just north of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. My home is yellow with a big blue front porch. In my back yard, I have a tree that produces dozens of apples each fall for caramel apples. My kitchen is the heart of the home with a big island where we eat. I love design and creating a warm, inviting home for my family and friends. Two blocks over is a playground, library and basketball court. It’s the perfect location to walk to schools, parks, restaurants, movies and shopping! You can’t walk down the street without people saying good morning and hello in my town. We have a few great coffee shops where people congregate with their children, dogs and laptops. During the summer, we spend days splashing and picnicking at the shore. The kids run around playfully with their sand pails building castles and collecting treasures. On Friday evenings town residents meet in main plaza for jazz. The children and adults picnic and dance. I don’t know if the kids ever catch any, but they fish for crabs with bits of chicken tied on a string. We have parades for major holidays. It’s an ideal, small-town situated just outside of everything San Francisco has to offer. It’s the best of both worlds!
The People I Love
My family: My parents have been married 51 years and split their time between California and the Midwest. I enjoy hiking with my Dad and traveling with my Mom. My older sister Cindy lives in Los Angeles. My younger sister Jenny lives in San Diego with her husband and three daughters. She is an amazing mother who always puts her children first. We grew very close during her adoption journey. My niece was adopted at birth and is one of the funniest humans I know. We get together for holidays and birthdays. Each summer, we all gather at our lake house in Wisconsin with extended family! We splash in the lake, walk to town for ice cream, bowl, fish, dance and make s’mores with Grandpa.
Friends: I have a wonderful group of friends who are a great source of support and entertainment. We have fun dancing at music festivals, hiking through wildflowers in the spring, skiing in the winter and sailing in the summer. When someone needs a helping hand we are all there to assist!
From my friend Yuen: “I have known Lisa for about 25 years now. As a friend she is consistently present for me, conveying a sense of honesty, trust, and dependability through her empathy and love. Lisa always provides a non judgmental listening ear to anyone who needs support. To my own children she has been nothing but thoughtful and nurturing, caring for them as if they were her own!”
A note from my dad: “Lisa is my wonderful, warm loving daughter who never forgets anyone’s special day. She is generous in every way, always stepping up quickly to help out friends in need, whether struggling to move a household or recovering from a wild fire. Consequently she has a large circle of outstanding and supportive friends. I know she will make a fabulous mother.”
My hopes and dreams for me and my future child:
- I look forward to them starting at a wonderful school and making friends.
- I want to introduce them to music, sports, literature and theater and see what excites them. I will support them on whatever path they choose.
- I want to continue our Christmas Eve tradition and gift an ornament representing something they accomplished from the year.
- I will surround them with loving friends and family.
- As they grow older I will honor their unique characteristics, talents and goals and do everything I can to nourish them.
- I will always stand by their side.
- They will always know how we became a family.
- I promise to always tuck them in at night and always listen about their day.
One last thank you: I can’t remember a day in my life that I didn’t want to be a mother. Thank you for considering me to parent your child, and if you do, I look forward to learning more about you as we continue this journey together. I would love to hear from you!
