Hello from Korea! We are Liz and Carley. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us! We are grateful to have this opportunity to share a little bit of our story with you.

We recognize that this is not an easy decision — you have our deepest respect, and we admire your strength and courage. We both feel that having biological children isn’t right for us, and even before we were lucky enough to find each other, we both always wanted to be adoptive parents. We are ready and excited to welcome your child in to our warm, loving home and grow our family. We know this profile will only be a glimpse into our lives, but we hope it shows you how much love we have to offer your child.

We are an active-duty military family loving life in beautiful South Korea! We have a diverse and inclusive community of military families around us who have been so supportive of our adoption journey. We have been all over the world and love to travel together. Home is where the Army sends us, so we move every few years, but what’s important to us won’t change- being loving, dedicated moms to our future child.

We met playing on a gay football team when Liz was stationed in Carley’s hometown of Tacoma, Washington. Carley remembers seeing Liz walk on the field that day and she fell in love right then and there.

We started spending time together off the field going scuba diving, trying different restaurants and taking mini-road trips around Washington State. We had so much fun together, and it felt like we had always known each other.

We love to be silly together and don’t take ourselves too seriously- our life is filled with laughter and joy. We aren’t just partners, we’re best friends who truly enjoy spending time together.

Our favorite thing to do is go scuba diving, and we have been diving together around the world!

Liz is sweet, loyal, intelligent, and so funny. Her sense of humor warms my heart and gives me butterflies.

Liz is a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army. She has such a serious job so not many people see the lighthearted side of her. At home, she does silly dances, and giggles when she’s tickled, and sings loudly and off-key to her favorite songs. I can’t wait to see Liz make our child laugh with her silliness! Liz has endless energy and loves staying active, she’s really looking forward to being a Scout Leader or a coach for our child’s sports team in the future.

Liz is an excellent provider and cares deeply about making sure our future child has everything they will need- she makes our family a priority.

Carley is kind, caring, smart, and loving. She has a huge heart and our friends and family consistently reach out to her when they need support, or want to celebrate an accomplishment. She is an incredible wife who supports me in everything I do — from once-in-a-lifetime experiences to everyday chores — she is unwavering in her dedication to our family. She maintains our home and keeps everything running, she takes such good care of our dogs and makes our home a warm and welcoming place.

Carley is a certificated high school counselor and has a background in social work. Carley is really looking forward to staying home with our baby and getting to be there during all the awe-inspiring firsts of parenthood.

We live in a quiet neighborhood with Korean and military families in Asan, South Korea. We love that our neighbors all say hello to each other, we give gifts on all the big holidays and our dogs play in each other’s yards. Kids often ride their bikes up and down the street- Carley can’t wait until our child is old enough to learn to ride bikes with her.

Our house has a large room for the nursery with two big windows that look out over the nearby mountain range. We have been going to baby stores to get ideas about how to decorate the nursery, we know we want lots of rainbows!

There are always a ton of fun family outings happening at our local military base; we celebrate every season and holiday with big events like 4th of July fireworks, the Santa’s Workshop Christmas market, and the end of summer water park pool party.

There is no shortage of family-friendly entertainment here — we recently went to a Halloween Movie Night and a Trunk or Treat event where we got to hand out candy to over 3,000 military kids! Seeing all the kids in their adorable costumes made us both so excited for future family Halloween costumes.

We get to live in Korea until Summer 2024, and no matter where we go next, we know we will have our military family to lean on and they will help us make our new community feel like home.

In addition to traveling, we love the water and often scuba dive, snorkel, or go swimming at the local pool. We both love Legos and collect Lego sets that feature underwater scenes. We make a point to visit all the local aquariums — Liz loves the touch tank and is looking forward to taking our future child to the aquarium to experience sea life together.

We spend most of our weekends exploring Korea, going on walks with our sweet dogs through the neighboring orchards or putting together puzzles. We have a weekly Yahtzee game and compete for the highest score- Carley is the reigning champion!

We feel lucky to have such a supportive village of people rooting for us!

Carley’s parents are retired at the beach. They love to fish, take long walks near the surf and go clamming. Carley’s mom is so excited to be a grandma that she’s already collecting future baby gifts. Carley’s dad has a woodshop and is crafting shadow boxes so we can save some of our future child’s mementos.

Liz will be the first in her family to have a child. Her dad is so excited to be a grandpa and her brother is thrilled to be an uncle! We talk to both sides of our family on a regular basis and give them updates about the adoption process.

We have two well-behaved small dogs, Marge (a pug) and Kimchi (a corgi mix). We named Kimchi after one of our favorite drag queens, but then we moved to Korea and her name has been a huge hit with our Korean neighbors!

We are so excited to show our future child all the wonderful things this world has to offer! Military life isn’t always easy, but our child will get to experience living in other countries, traveling to far away locations, and meeting people from all walks of life. Military bases are incredibly diverse, and our child would be attending school with children from different cultures, who speak other languages, are from all family types and exemplify resilience. We’re also looking forward to all the little everyday moments along the way — reading before bed, family snuggles, helping with schoolwork, teaching our child how to throw a ball and ride a bike. We will ensure your child grows up in a home surrounded by love and light.

We would love to have an open adoption and want to work on a plan with you that makes you most comfortable and honors your needs for space or connection. We want our child to know about their biological family and where they came from.
