My name is Louanne and I live in California. I am so very happy to meet you. I would like to take a moment to thank you for taking the time to learn more about me and my family.
I understand that this must be an incredibly difficult time. I truly admire your strength and realize you have choices. This choice is not always an easy one and I want it to be right for you.
As for me, I am unable to have children biologically, so I am grateful to be able to start my family through the gift of adoption.
I was raised by a wonderful, caring single mother who taught me to be strong and independent. I believe the strength instilled in me by my mother gave me the drive to become a doctor and to feel confident in my decision to adopt as a single parent. I loved my childhood and can’t wait to pass that love of life on to a child. Please know that I am here to support you and help in any way that I can.
With love and gratitude,
Louanne
I am a small-town girl from Excanaba, Michigan. Where I grew up, most people stay put for life. As for me, I had a restless spirit and could not wait to see the world. I went away to college, traveled, and after years of training, became a doctor. Now, I work part-time with a flexible schedule so have plenty of time to start a family!
Traveling and music are a big part of my life but I also love having downtime to read, do yard work, do puzzles, and relax at home. Generally, I am equally as excited about a music festival or a vacation; as I am for a binge-worthy Netflix series.
My adventurous spirit continued into adulthood. I have traveled to over 15 countries and love to see new places, learn about different cultures, and to explore. I am excited to share these things with a child! Some of my favorite travel experiences include visiting Egypt, Greece, Kenya, Indonesia and Bora Bora. I would love to take my future child to Disneyland, the Grand Canyon, Mexico, and Europe.
I am thrilled to be at the point where adoption is a real possibility! I was in a long-term relationship with my partner, Nate, for over 10 years. Nate and I went to medical school together and when we decided to start a family, I wasn’t able to have a child biologically but knew that I really wanted to adopt. Nate could not fully commit to adopting a child.
So, I started on my own journey to adopt as a single parent. Nate is still my best friend and a big part of my life but we are no longer in a partnership. I am so excited to proceed with my dream and can’t wait to start a family!
I am a doctor and can’t wait to start a family! I work as a pediatric and adult Allergist and Immunologist, which I love. It brings me so much joy to work with children and to help others. I treat patients with all types of allergies, asthma, and immune system disorders. I work part time so have plenty of time to spend with a child or children (I would love more than one).
This house has good juju! I think it is a really special place that has a modern cottage feel. My home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large open living room, an office, and a den which I am converting into a play room. There is a peaceful, fenced-in yard with flowers and trees, a small basketball court, and a large separate garden that I have not fully planted yet. And last but not least – a children’s room where they can entertain friends.
"The City of Good Living” is the motto of San Carlos, California. It is definitely the right slogan for this safe, laid back community. San Carlos is small, with about 30,000 residents, and is perfectly nestled between the ocean and the mountains.
It is 25 miles south of San Francisco and has beautiful parks, farmers markets, and a downtown strip on Laurel Street with shops and restaurants. San Carlos has a small town feel where my neighbors bring in my trash bins when I am away and bring over fresh lemons from their lemon tree when I return. It is an easy drive to Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Palm Springs, Los Angeles, Monterey, and Napa.
Nate is still my best friend. He is truly a great guy and is supportive of my decision to adopt a child. My closest childhood friend, Laurie, has always been a huge part of my life and is like family. We grew up next door to each other in Michgan but now both live in California!
I feel so lucky to have both of them but also to have a large, fun-loving group of friends who have children, support each other, and love spending time together.
The best way to learn about me is through my family and friends. When I asked them to describe me, here is what they said:
“Outgoing, compassionate, down to earth, and caring with a big heart; generous, adventurous, always willing to help others, with a great sense of humor”. - Suzanne (my sweet sister)
“Louanne appreciates everything that life has to offer. She is adventurous and a ton of fun. She is simply beautiful inside and out”. - Rox (great friend since medical school)
“She’s so cute, sweet, kind, generous, smart, and always showers us with gifts”- Mady (my friend Jen’s daughter)
“Louanne is loyal, smart, funny, confident, competent, adventurous, loving, generous and thoughtful”- Laurie (my best friend since grade school)
I have a super supportive and loving family. When you talk about crazy, unconditional love, my family is just that. They are an ‘all in’ kind of a family and can’t wait for me to adopt and add our newest little member. My family is a huge part of my life and enjoys everything from hiking, knitting, cooking, golfing, car racing, football, traveling, camping, shopping, dancing, being outdoors, and the family favorites – dominoes and a charade- style game we call “salad”.
My family still lives in the Midwest but moved from Michigan to Green Bay, Wisconsin. I love the Midwest and travel to see my family several times throughout the year.
My mother, Bev, is beyond excited about the possibility of another grandchild. My older sister, Suzanne, has two children - Abby and Austin, who I adore. I am very close to both of them and they are thrilled to welcome a new cousin into the family.
My friends and family are a huge part of my life. They are incredibly supportive, caring, and fun-loving! They support my decision to adopt and I can’t wait to add to the family!
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and for considering me as an adoptive parent to your child! It is so nice to meet you! I am 100% ready for this journey and can’t wait to get started. Please reach out if you have any questions or would like to know more about me and my life here in California.
With hope and love,
Louanne
