We would like to begin by letting you know that we admire your strength for choosing adoption for your baby. We truly believe that adoption is a selfless choice that exemplifies the courage and love you have for your child!
We are so excited to become parents. We will be honored and blessed to be chosen by you to love and raise your child. We have boundless love for each other that we want to share with a child. We know this will bring us so much more joy and make our family complete.
We are Jeffery and Marian. We met in high school through a mutual friend. Jeff was sixteen years old at the time. He came with a friend to the Senior Carnival where Marian went to high school at a neighboring town. Marian, who was fifteen years old, was running for Carnival Queen. There was a brief introduction by Jeff’s friend, as the carnival was about to begin, and Marian was to be named Carnival Queen. After the carnival, Marian looked for her friend who introduced her to Jeff in hopes of getting to know him better, but they had left for the evening. Marian never knew if she would see Jeff again.
One month later, Jeff, who was a very shy over-sized teddy bear himself, showed up at Marian’s parent’s front door with an Easter Basket and a little yellow Easter bunny. He came to invite her to attend an Easter church service with him. That was the beginning of the rest of our lives!
We dated all through high school, and then went away to college together. Being far from home, we spent nearly every waking hour together as we attended college. Having the same majors in college, we did everything together – studying, staying up all night eating Oreos and cramming for finals, and playing tennis and shooting hoops in our spare time. We truly were, and still are, best friends! Jeff proposed and we married one year after college graduation (after eight years together).
Now, after more than twenty years together, we enjoy spending time with our thirteen nieces and nephews, whose ages range from 3 days to 20 years old. We love taking them with us drag racing, car shows, helping them build Pine Wood Derby cars for Boy Scouts, carving pumpkins, going to Cardinals baseball games, fishing, boating, and jet skiing.
As a child, I grew up on the outskirts of town. Evenings were spent together, as me, my sister and my mom played board games, hot wheels and with my sister’s Strawberry Shortcake dolls. My dad worked outside on the race car. When I was finally old enough, I started to follow him around, watching as he tore down an engine and rebuilt it. I soon discovered that I shared his passion for cars, using tools to build things and for racing!
In my current job as a millwright, I am happy to get to use my tools to build things. Not only do I get to do what I love, but I am also blessed to be financially secure. This will allow Marian to stay home with the baby for the first few years of his or her life. I also plan to take a leave from work when the baby is born for a month to stay home with Marian and the baby. I cannot wait to be a dad! I look forward to playing with Hot Wheels, playing catch, teaching him or her about cars and showing him or her how it feels to be loved beyond words!
More about Jeff, by Marian
For such a big, strong guy who loves drag racing, building muscle cars and working on things, Jeff has an extremely soft side that only family gets to see. Amazingly, Jeff sees life through a child’s eyes. He notices things that most people never even notice at all. Jeff has the biggest heart! He especially loves babies – and kids of all ages…. Kids are naturally drawn to him. It’s as if they search the room to see which adult will play with them. Jeff is always that person!
As a husband, Jeff is the hardest working, most dedicated person I’ve ever met! He is such a wonderful provider. The note that he wrote three years ago and hung on the refrigerator door (and continues to hang to this day) says it all, “Although not said and done every day, kiss, hug and tell your beautiful Marian Aileene you love her each and every moment of every day. Tell her she means everything in this world to you and that you never want to live without her. Love her like there is no tomorrow!” I thank God every single day that he chose me!
As I child, I grew up in the country. It was a great place to grow up and a fun place to be a kid. Although my mother and father both worked, my mom always managed to come home from work every night and cook a homemade meal. Dad would play catch with us in the front yard until dinner was ready.
As a full-time mommy, I look forward to baking Christmas cookies, carving pumpkins, bike rides, watching Disney movies and big Sunday dinners at home with our family. I also look forward to coloring, putting together puzzles, playing board games and spending time as a family!
More about Marian, by Jeffery
Marian is the most thoughtful and giving person I have ever met in my life. She always places our family first. She gives me and them the most precious gift she can give – her time!
Spending time with Marian is second to none. We enjoy our date night every Friday as we try new restaurants, see a movie or go to new places. Marian makes everything in my life fun!
The holiday season is a special time with Marian. Her love for holidays is contagious. Each year we decorate by hanging lights, putting up Christmas trees, listening to Christmas music and making crafts and cookies. Marian has a three-gallon glass container of cookie cutters just waiting for cookies to be made with our child. My life with Marian is blessed! I know that having a child with Marian would complete the whole package!
Our Family and Friends
We live within 7 miles of all of our relatives. When we visit Marian’s parents on Sundays, we can count on afternoon football games in the front yard with the nephews and nieces. On weekends at Jeff’s families house, the nephews and nieces are a bit younger and we enjoy our time drawing, tea parties with make believe hot cocoa, marshmallows and plastic cupcakes, building with Legos, and playing with Hot Wheel racing sets.
On the holidays, we divide our time by visiting both of our families. Our summer vacations include the whole family, including all of the brothers, sisters, nephews and nieces in three, three-bedroom cabins and one very full swimming pool.
Our Home and Community
Our home is a three bedroom, three bathroom house located in a small peaceful neighborhood in mid-Missouri. Our neighbors are extremely friendly and look out for one another. On summer days, you are sure to find children riding their bikes or waiting for the ice cream truck to come ringing down the street. We live a ¼-mile from a huge playground and basketball court and are only one mile from the City park and two miles from the state park.
