Hi! We are Jules & Matt from Redondo Beach, California. We cannot begin to express our gratitude to you! We are in awe and inspired by your courage and bravery in considering adoption.
Family has always been a huge part of both of our lives growing up and we can’t wait to
have a family of our own! After struggles with fertility, we started to discuss adoption and realized it was something that had been in both of our hearts for a while. We both have family members that were adopted and know that this is the path we were always meant to take.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us, and we want you know that not only is your child’s well-being important to us, but yours is too! We want nothing more than for you to feel comfortable and confident in your decision.
We truly hope getting to know us gives you peace of mind!
We first met after swiping right on each other on a dating app. We had our first date at a cute little restaurant where Los Angeles meets the beach. While the conversation was great and we had fun, the service was terrible and we couldn’t help but laugh about it. After several months of dating, Jules flew east to meet Matt’s family in Washington DC, and a short time later we got engaged. Matt pulled off the perfect proposal, popping the question behind home plate at Dodger stadium, (we are huge Dodger fans). We got married in a quiet little beach town near Santa Barbara that we had fallen in love with and have basically been inseparable ever since.
We truly love to spend time together, it doesn’t matter if it is as simple as a pizza and movie on the couch, or renting an RV and taking an adventure up the California coast! We are best friends, and soul mates.
I grew up outside of Washington DC and was lucky enough to have parents who supported all of my dreams and ambitions. Whether it was picking up musical instruments or helping to open my traveling DJ company, my parents were the best! I went to school at Indiana University and am now a literary manager for Film and TV writers, where I help develop their ideas, and guide them through their careers. My schedule is fairly flexible and I spend at least half of the week working from home. I still play bass, and have started taking a serious interest in golf. But most importantly, I cannot wait to share my passions and hobbies with our future child.
Matt is the kindest man I have ever met. He is always making me laugh and cracking jokes (even if they aren’t that funny). While he has a very strong work ethic, I know he will always put our family first and will be the most involved Dad. He will coach every team, go to every parent teacher night, and he will make our family a priority. There is nothing more important to him than making the people he loves happy.
Matt and his niece, Ila, had an instant bond from the first time he held her. And when I saw his eyes light up while looking at her and making funny faces, I knew he was going to be an incredible father to our child one day.
I was born in Dublin, Ireland and moved to Pasadena, California, as a young child. I grew up playing every sport that the schools and parks had to offer and most weekends were spent in my backyard pool playing with my friends. During the summer my family would head to the beach and I would spend hours in the sand and water, playing games and building castles with my brother. I earned my degree in psychology from Cal Poly Pomona and later, a nursing degree from a private college. I now work at a local hospital as a charge nurse on a surgical and cardiac floor. Luckily my schedule only requires I work 3 days a week and I plan to work part time once we welcome our future child home. I cannot wait to cheer them on at their events or just spend time snuggling on the couch.
Jules is one of the most passionate, caring, and kindhearted people I have ever met. She will drop whatever she is doing to help family or friends with whatever they need, no matter how big or small it is. Jules is that person, that I always want on my side, not only because she is my best friend, but because she is fiercely loyal and protective of her family and friends. I know she is going to make an amazing mother to our future child and will not let a single bad thing happen to them. Just seeing the love, care and compassion she gives to our nieces gives me all of the confidence in the world that I could ever need that I found the perfect partner to start a family with!

Betty is our 3-year-old rescued spaniel mix. She loves to snuggle, play on the beach, and is especially gentle and patient with children. She loves to stop on walks and let children pet her!
Terry is a 7-year-old cat that was rescued from a parking lot in downtown Los Angeles. She is fiercely independent, (just like all cats), but love’s a good snuggle and belly rub when no one else is looking! She has taken a particular liking to Ila and comes out to sit on her lap whenever she visits!¬
We live in sunny Redondo Beach, California. We have a beautiful multilevel sunny, townhome with the most amazing neighbors you could ask for. There are 18 units and all but 2 of the homes have children, ranging from 3 to 17 years old. Two of the women in the complex are currently pregnant, so your child will always have a friend to play with! Every evening around 5pm all the younger kids meet outside to run and play, and most Friday evenings and holidays all of the families get together around the firepit to celebrate together. It truly is a dream neighborhood with great schools and an amazing atmosphere.
Nearby Attractions: We are just a short 10 minutes to the beach and famous Redondo Pier where there are many great things to do! Our town puts on family concerts in the local parks and movies on the sand pretty regularly, and we get to experience all of this while being less than 20 miles from the art and culture of Los Angeles. Needless to say there is always something fun going on nearby.
We truly believe that it takes a village to raise a child, and we think we have the best village surrounding us!
Jules’ family lives within 5 miles of each other and on most weekends we spend time together. Our niece plays tee ball every Saturday afternoon and we go to the games as a family to cheer her on! The day usually ends with a family dinner at her parent’s house.
Jules’ parents have been married for 40 years and still hold hands on walks. Jules’ mother was adopted as an infant in Ireland and speaks so highly of her birth mother’s courageous action of placing her for adoption.
Matt’s mom and dad have been married for 38 years and fly west to spend time with us as often as possible. There is always a big family get together when they come to visit filled with food, games, and lots of laughter.
Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us and our family. We want you to know that should you choose us there will always be an open line of communication and our child will know how our paths crossed out of unconditional love for them. We want you to know that we have the utmost respect for your decision and we wish you and your child nothing but the best in life no matter how you move forward.
