We are Keith and Melanie. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us
We hope to give you a glimpse into who we are as you take the time to get to know more about us. We wish to give you an idea of what we hope to provide your child and we appreciate you taking the time to consider us. It is our sincere desire that we can give you comfort in knowing that your child will be provided with unconditional love and an opportunity for unlimited growth. We light up with joy each time we think about our family growing and we believe open adoption is a wonderful opportunity.
Our Love Story
We met at one of our favorite restaurants after being introduced through a mutual friend. After a long night of conversation about family, careers, and hobbies, we discovered instantly how much we had in common. Our next meeting was our first date where Keith cooked one of his favorite meals and the two of us enjoyed a plate of stuffed shells together. We fell in love quickly and were engaged within the next two years. Two years later we were married and planned the most beautiful Do-It-Yourself wedding utilizing friends and family in the process. Our brother-in-law rewrote the wedding march and played a solo acoustic guitar while a friend of Melanie’s made all of the floral bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids. In the time since we have been married we have spent a lot of energy building a home for our future family.
Now we are excited to start a family and have had a couple of unsuccessful experiences maintaining a pregnancy. We are never ones to give up and we know our family can still be possible through adoption. We are super excited about the journey of becoming parents to share our love, lives, and laughter with a child.

The thing I love about Keith the most is his dedication to those he loves. Keith is the most patient and understanding person I have ever known. He encourages me to be the best version of myself and is very supportive. I knew almost immediately the two of us would have a life together full of adventure and love. The first night we met was filled with conversation where we talked seriously and laughed all at the same time. He is a wonderful husband and partner who I am happy to share my life with.
Keith and I are partners in every sense of the word.
I know Keith will be a great dad. He is very excited to show a child how to be the best at whatever they chose to be in life. He has a calm way of responding to sensitive situations. Keith is also very playful and full of an excitable energy that the children in his life positively love. He is active in the lives of our nieces and nephews, whether it is cheering them on at a Lacrosse game or a softball game or just takes the time to talk with them about their lives. Keith genuinely wants others around him to always be smiling and enjoying life.
Keith shows the same kind of passion with his family as he does with his job. He is dedicated to working with children with special needs and providing an environment where these children feel comfortable being who they are. He also wants to provide each child the same opportunity to be successful inside and outside of the classroom.

My mom used to tell me that I should make sure I marry someone who makes me better. That is who Melanie is for me. She is the person for whom I try to improve at least a little bit every day. Melanie is the person who makes me want to be a better teacher, friend and a better person and it will be with her that I will also try to be the best father.
I spend a good deal of time amazed by how often Melanie makes people smile. Our nieces and nephews are always lit up when we spend time with them, and it is always because of her. I see her with her students and they adore her. When we go to the store and run into one of her kids from school they start beaming at the sight of her. What is even better is seeing their parents smile too.
Melanie will be a great mother because it is what I believe she is meant for, it is her purpose. She is nurturing, caring, attentive and funny. Most of all, Melanie is loving and will do anything for her family. She will be there for a laugh or a cry and will love unconditionally. As a mother, Melanie will always be the light that guides the way, just like she has done for me.
My mom also told me to find someone who makes me laugh. I hit a big homerun on that one and our child will spend a lifetime cracking up.
Keith’s family and some of Melanie’s family live in Valencia. The remainder of Melanie’s family is all within a very short car ride. This allows us to get together to celebrate holidays, birthdays, or to just get together for a family meal. Christmas is our favorite time of the year because it’s when we get together to make traditional tamales and cookies for everyone to enjoy. We also have a large extended family and a group of friends that are a big part of our lives. Much of our family and friends have children that we spend time with at the pool, at the park, and at sporting events.
Our Life as Teachers
While Keith worked other jobs before becoming a teacher, he always knew his passion was working with kids. Teaching and coaching have been a chance to give students guidance, comfort and an opportunity for fun as part of their journey through life. He loves the creativity of working in the classroom with students. Keith sees education as a much more important experience than just grades on a report card.
Melanie has been a preschool teacher for over ten years where she is passionate about teaching children how to develop friendships, communicate with others, and learn their ABC’s. Melanie enjoys the relationships she builds with the families she works with and seeing them come back to visit after they have moved on. She loves to see the ways children are able to develop throughout the year and how much they teach her.

Where We Live
We feel fortunate to live on one of the greatest little cities in Southern California. Valencia is constantly growing but we take comfort knowing it remains to be a safe place with small town values where we are excited to raise a child. We feel very lucky to live in a city with great schools and diverse community activities.
Keith likes to joke that Valencia is the center of the universe because we are surrounded by so many things to do within sixty miles of our home. We love spending time at Disneyland and going to the Los Angeles Zoo with our nieces and nephews. During the Holidays we can jump in the car and drive to nearby communities to look at Christmas lights or drive to the mountains to play in the snow. In the summer we can catch a concert in the park, head to an outdoors farmers market, or camp under the stars near the beach. One of our favorite summer activities is hearing the crack of the bat at a baseball game. Whether it’s a BBQ at home or a family adventure we enjoy the variety of experiences that our community brings to us.
