THANK YOU for reading our profile and considering us as adoptive parents. We’re grateful that you’re considering an adoption plan, and hope this gives you an honest sense of who we are as a family. After eight wonderful years of adventures together as a married couple, we’re ready and excited to add children into the mix!

  1. Chris is a good sport and dresses up with Monica every year for Halloween.
  2. We love trying new foods.
  3. Monica loves the TV show FRIENDS so much, Chris threw her a themed 30th birthday party.
  4. We love to travel. Our most recent trip was to France and Switzerland.
  5. Bike riding is one of our favorite activities. We even rode bikes along Lake Michigan in November while on vacation—it was FREEZING!

We met on Monica’s very first day at church during her freshman year at UC Berkeley. When the pastor told the group to “greet the person sitting next to you,” it was Chris! We became best friends in college and began dating right before Chris was about to graduate (he is 2 years older). Thankfully, Chris got a job close by in San Francisco, and we continued dating while Monica finished her time at Cal. Chris proposed on a walk at Monica’s favorite lake in her hometown, with rose petals all over one of the docks. We were married a year later in the very same church where we first met, surrounded by family and friends. We love spending time together biking or hiking local trails, swimming in our backyard pool, and having friends over for a BBQ. Our shared love of travel and exploring together has brought us on adventures all over the world. Meeting in college and getting married right afterwards, has given us eight amazing years to laugh and be silly together, support each other through life’s ups and downs, and learn how to love each other more deeply. Words can’t describe how excited we are to share this intentional and unconditional love with a child.About Monica, by Monica:

I was raised in a loving home in a small town in the Bay Area. Growing up I was a competitive swimmer and water polo player—I even got into Cal for water polo! Sports taught me so many life lessons, especially about working hard to achieve your goals. Ever since the second grade, my life goal was to work in medicine. Today, I am a nurse practitioner currently practicing Family Medicine. I love my patients and making a difference in their lives. Thankfully my job has a very short commute, which allows me to be close to home and keep a very good work-life-balance.

About Monica, by Chris:

Life with Monica is vibrant, fun, and full of celebration! I was immediately drawn to her passion and enthusiasm for the people and things she loves—just ask her about her morning coffee routine and you’ll see what I mean! One thing I love about Monica is her deep sense of purpose and desire to spend her life caring for others. She is intentional and thoughtful in her relationships, and is truly the most loyal person I know. It’s what makes her so wonderful with her patients at work, and I know it’s what will make her an incredible mom one day.About Chris, by Chris:

After a happy childhood growing up on the east coast of Massachusetts, my family moved to San Diego where I spent my middle and high school years mountain biking and surfing with friends at the beach. I’ve always been a naturally curious person—it’s probably why I followed in my Dad’s footsteps and chose a career in technology that has allowed me to constantly learn and discover new things. I can’t wait to help our children discover what they are passionate about in life, and support them as they pursue their dreams and goals.

About Chris, by Monica:

The one word I always use to describe Chris is humble. Chris is so smart and talented, but he’s never arrogant about his abilities. He is a faithful man of God who is always putting others first and making them feel loved. I have never once questioned Chris’s love for me because he loves consistently through his words and his actions. He truly lives out a sacrificial love that I think will make him an amazing father. Chris is warm, kind, and patient. He is wonderful with my niece and nephew, and all of the children in our community adore him. I cannot wait to see him as a new dad!Our family:

Our family is very lively, loyal, and deeply loving. Monica’s parents, Bob and Robin, live only thirty minutes away in the home where she was raised, and her sister Natalie and husband Justin live close by with their two children, Lane and Carter. They are very excited for another cousin! Each year, Monica and her sisters take a “sister trip” together. This year they went to Austin, TX to visit her little sister Hayley and spent a day visiting the Silos from the TV show Fixer Upper! Chris’s mom Elaine lives in San Diego, CA about five minutes from the beach. We LOVE to visit her and spend time in the ocean! His parents were happily married for 25 years before his father passed away. Chris’s sister Heather lives near Lake Tahoe, NV with her fiancé Evan. They are such a fun, adventurous couple, and they are always challenging us to try new things!

Our home and community:

We live in a three-bedroom home in the hills of Castro Valley, CA. Our house was a fixer upper when we first bought it three years ago, but we have slowly been remodeling. We have a large yard with many trees—great for kids to explore. In the summer we spend a lot of time in our backyard pool and host an annual 4th of July pool party! Our neighborhood has a large park within walking distance that overlooks the San Francisco Bay. It has a playground and basketball court for kids, and a big open field to play in. We live in a great school district in a safe, family-oriented, and diverse community. Many of our close friends from college live nearby with their young children and we all get together for pizza night or Thai food on a regular basis. We have AMAZING neighbors on both sides of our home with young kids who can’t wait for another playmate!Meet our Dog, Cali:

We rescued Cali about 4 years ago, while living in San Diego. She is a sweet little dog that loves to play outside and swim in the ocean. She is great with other dogs and loves kids!

Thanks again for taking the time to get to know us a little better. If you would like to know anything else about us we are more than happy to share. We want the best for you and your child, and are praying for you, no matter what you decide. We hope to hear from you soon!
