Hi!  We are Emily and Nick and thank you for taking the time to get to know us.  If we are a match with you, this would be an incredible honor for us. We would feel so blessed by your confidence in our family.

Without a doubt, this will not be easy and we commend you on your bravery. We hope that we can be part of your journey and give you peace with your decision.

How we began-

We have been together for over 13 years and married for 6 years. Early in our relationship, we knew we were falling in love and wanted to spend our lives together. We both wanted to travel, enjoy
time as a couple and buy a home before we started a family. When planning our future, we both discussed the desire to adopt. Due to infertility issues, creating a family the
traditional way was not in the cards for us. The challenges of infertility, it has only brought us closer and stronger as a couple. With love and support, we have shared highs and lows
and grown together. The best part of our day is walking through the door and still getting butterflies when we see each other.

About Emily written by Nick:

Emily is truly the love of my life. One of the qualities that I was so attracted to was her fierce independence. She is smart and funny, even if she laughs at her own jokes. Emily has a deep love for our family and friends. I couldn’t ask for a better partner, although I do call her the boss.  She works hard and then comes home to keep our household running smoothly. I know she will be an amazing mother and I can’t wait for our journey to begin.

Emily’s experience with Adoption

I would like to share with you my personal connection to adoption. When my best friend was graduating from high school, she found out she was pregnant. She had recently broken up with her boyfriend and didn’t feel she was in the best position to parent. Although it was the hardest decision of her life, she says it was the best decision she ever made. She picked a wonderful family for her sweet baby girl and knew they would take amazing care of her. The letters with updates and pictures have put her mind at ease, knowing her little girl is where she should be. I was with my friend the moment she found out she was pregnant and on the phone with her during labor. I truly empathize with you and hope my perspective gives you more.

About Nick written by Emily

Nick is the most wonderful person I know, I am lucky to call him my husband. He is generous, funny and kind. His smile is infectious and he makes me laugh every day with all his silly jokes. Nick is the type of person that loves getting to know other people and learning from them. He’s devoted and loyal and would do anything to help a friend in need. His kind heart will make him a wonderful father like the great husband he is.

Our Families:

Family is everything. We are so lucky that both sets of parents live no more than 20 minutes away from us. Our parents have both been married for over 40 years and have
shown us what a loving marriage is like. After getting to know each other our parents now all hang out without us! They go out on double dates. It is an awesome blessing our families.

Emily’s family

My dad is originally from England and came to the US on a 1 way ticket to California. He soon met my mom who grew up in an Air Force family. They setup their first home in Santa Barbara where my mom was attending UCSB. My favorite brother (my only brother) is named Michael and he is 5 years younger than me. He has been dating his long time love Elizabeth, and we consider her part of our family.  Our family is very close to my mom’s side of the family which includes my aunts, uncles and cousins. We celebrate all of our family events together and there are about 20-25 of us at any given holiday. Nick and I have been lucky enough to visit my dad’s side of the family in England. It was an amazing family reunion and we can’t wait to go back. My family is so excited about our adoption and my parents can’t wait to be first-time grandparents.

Nick’s Family

My parents are high school sweethearts from a little town in Louisiana. My Pops joined the Navy and married my Mom. I have a wonderful sister named Monica and she is 5 years older than me. We have always been close and have the best time together. She is married to John and they had my awesome nephew Johnny. My sister found a great guy—we both love video games and football. For the last few years I have made the trip back to Louisiana to spend time with all my relatives. My parents are the best grandparents and are looking forward to spoiling another grandchild. I know Johnny will love having another child join our family and can show him or her the ropes.

Our Home:

We live in a beach community about 45 minutes outside of Los Angeles. One of the nicest aspects of our area is the great weather and access to the beach, splash pads & parks.  We love our 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom home. It was the best feeling to become homeowners 4 years ago!  We have access to a pool and beautiful walking paths. The community is small and is gated around our homes. This allows kids to play safely and ride bikes outside.

In our happy home lives our beloved cat Milo.  Nick rescued him from the shelter 10 years ago and he was the best Christmas surprise. Milo loves people, especially children. He knows when we have little visitors, that they will give him treats. His favorite trick is giving high 5s…we are still working on high 10s.

Our Promise

As parents our goal for your child will be love, laughter and security. We want your child to grow up in a happy and well-balanced environment. Snuggling and hugs will be a daily occurrence and not a day will go by without them hearing the words “I love you”. Ensuring school is the priority so that he or she feels confident in whom they are.
We want to assure you that we have not made our decision to adopt lightly. We will give your child 110% of ourtime & energy.

There are so many activities that we can’t wait to do as a family: trips to the park, swim lessons, family bbqs, soccer practice, birthday parties, trips to the zoo, trips to Disneyland, the holidays, family vacations and international travel.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us! We are grateful for the opportunity to
be part of your journey. We hope you see the love, laughter & stability we can provide your child.  Whatever your decision may be, please know you & your family are in our thoughts.
