Choose a Family

Nicole and Steve

First and foremost, we would like to recognize the incredible amount of strength and courage it takes on your behalf to consider adoption for your baby.  We are excited at the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you and admire your bravery and self-sacrifice.

We have been married for 10 years and have been dreaming of building a family for even longer. Some of our most treasured memories are those of growing up and we are so happy to have the ability to create those types of memories and family traditions for your child and our future family. We hope to build a family that fosters creativity, passion for learning, independence and above all else, unconditional love.

We love to do everything together! As silly as it sounds, we just love spending time together doing things that keep us active and busy. Whether it is completing projects around the house or taking an adventurous vacation. We both love to explore new cities or countries, to build everlasting memories. We love being outdoors and having fun in the sun! Steve’s family has a lake house where we can meet up with friends and family to go boating, water skiing, hiking and just relax. We also enjoy being physically active and will often go to the gym together, go bike riding or jogging in the sunny southern California weather.  We have two rescue English bulldogs that we take everywhere with us! They love to go to the park and chase their toys, or run in the backyard and play each other. We also enjoy cooking together, taking cooking classes to expand our culinary creativity, and having our friends over to our house for dinner parties.

Nicole is the most caring and nurturing woman I have met which is likely due to her years as a medical professional. Nicole worked 11 years as a certified athletic trainer, helping college athletes recover from sports-related injury. In order to support a more family-centric lifestyle, she went back to school to pursue her nursing degree and has been working as an ICU nurse for the past 3 years.  Nicole has a very radiant personality that attracts people to appreciate and love what she does and who she is.  She has inner and exterior beauty that makes me love everyday being married to her.  Nicole’s honesty of how she is feeling and wants to be better for everyone more than herself is very compelling and compassionate.  Nicole’s passion for life is superior and far exceeds anyone else’s ambition I have ever met.  She wants to always be active and doing something that we might never experience again.  Nicole has witty humor and can converse with anyone and can keep the fun going with friends and family.  One of the last qualities of many that attracted me to Nicole was the caring and trust that she has for every individual that she comes into contact with, which shows how supportive she will be as a mother.

Steve has maintained a career in sports medicine for over 15 years in college athletics. He is dedicated and hardworking. His passion for health and wellness goes hand in hand with his job responsibilities of injury prevention, assessment and rehabilitation. Caring for high caliber, college athletes can keep him busy, but also keeps him young at heart!  Steve is the type of person who can walk into a room and instantly become friends with everyone. Steve has a great sense of humor and always knows how to make me laugh, even when I’m having the worst of days. He is truly my best friend, the first person I want to see or talk to when I have exciting news or need a listening ear. Steve is passionate and fun-loving but also determined and ambitious – always seeking out ways to be better both personally and professionally. He is a big kid at heart and has a way of finding joy in the simplest of circumstances. I love watching him play with and teach our niece and nephew – they can’t wait for Uncle Steve to help them perfect their free throw skills or play tag in the park! He is a natural father, protector and supporter. I have no doubt he will be excellent father!

We live in a quiet area in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles County. We have a tight knit community and know our neighbors well. Our neighborhood recreation center and park are within walking distance from our home and provide a number of community supported activities such as: indoor/outdoor basketball courts, children’s play area, picnic area, tennis courts, equestrian center and hiking trails. The center also offers a number of community classes such as: ballet, tumbling, piano, martial arts, crafts, cooking and so much more! Our local elementary school is a small community-based Gold Ribbon and California Distinguished School and feeds into highly rated middle schools and a charter high school. Our house has an enclosed backyard with room to run and play, as well as a covered patio for those extra sunny days! We have several families with young children who would love to have another addition to the community.

Nicole’s family lives in San Diego, California. Her dad always jokes that they could have their family reunion in a phone booth because their family is so small. Her mother was born and raised an only child in Germany. She met Nicole’s dad while he was stationed in Germany while serving in the US Army. They then married and moved to Southern California, where Nicole grew up. Nicole has two cousins that live on the east coast and keeps in contact with through social media.

Steve grew up on the central coast of California where his parents still live. Steve’s family is large, with relatives spread out across California. We celebrate holidays and special occasions together at alternating locations amongst the family each year and Nicole’s parents often join in on these family celebrations. We are closest to Steve’s brother and sister-in-law and their 10-year-old son and 5-year-old daughter and travel to see them as often as we can. Steve’s cousin lives in Southern California and we keep in close contact with him and his family, and often attend his children’s sporting activities.

We have three rescue pets. Our cat, Kita (16 years old) and two English bulldogs, Kola and Gigi (both 5 years old). They each have their own charismatic and unique personalities that bring so much joy to our lives.  Kita was Nicole’s roommate during graduate school and kept her company during long nights of studying.  Steve always wanted a bulldog of his own, so he and Nicole first rescued Kola in 2013 and then Gigi in 2017.  Kola and Gigi are good travel buddies and go nearly everywhere with us. They especially love trips to the family lake house and adventures to the park. They are great with kids and love getting attention from our niece and nephew.   Kita, Kola and Gigi love to be around people and are our welcoming crew for all of our family and friends when they come to visit!
