Dear Birth Mother, thank you so much for considering us as potential parents to your child.
We respect and admire your courage and strength in choosing the path of adoption which only confirms what a truly extraordinary person you are. We are grateful that you are taking the time to get to know us. If we are lucky enough to be selected as the adoptive parents, we promise that your child will grow up in a home full of unconditional love, support, laughter and happiness.
We can only imagine how difficult your decision is but want you to know that we look forward to meeting and discussing yours and our hopes and dreams for your child. We are available anytime to answer any questions you may have. We cannot wait to be parents and share our lives with a child!
From the moment we met we felt that we were meant to be. Fate brought us together at just the right time. Although it’s been more than 9 years it feels like it was just yesterday that we both walked in to our mutual friend’s party and were introduced. We discovered that we had many things in common; both had a love for Italian and Mexican food as well as similar interests in music, and shared the same hobbies too. We also realized that we have the same passion for adventure and travel (we recently went to Europe for the first time on our 5th wedding anniversary which was an amazing and unforgettable experience) and even found that we had the same first job at the age of 16 (Taco Bell)! We often joke about how we could have met sooner but are grateful that no matter how long it took, we met when the timing was just right and have been together ever since. And that’s the way we feel about adoption too, we believe that this moment in our lives is the right time to start a family.
We live in a pretty home in Redondo Beach, California about five blocks from the beach where we spend a lot of our free time enjoying the amazing “always sunny in California” weather. We are surrounded by some of the best schools in the district, most within walking distance.
We live in a very safe, active, family-oriented neighborhood where you often see moms and dads jogging with their strollers, bike riding with their kids or simply walking their dogs. It’s a neighborhood where your neighbors are all friendly and there for you when you need them. On occasion we take turns and have block parties and all the neighborhood kids enjoy a fun afternoon playing in the jumpy house.
About Patty written by Marcello
Patty has a great sense of humor, is outgoing, hardworking, loyal, kind, reliable, responsible, always there for anyone who needs her and very giving. She is the oldest of five siblings and has always been the caretaker and the one they all look up to and go to for advice. Patty loves the outdoors as much as I do and enjoys going to the beach, playing tennis, dancing and taking our dogs on long walks. She’s an amazing cook (and definitely a foodie!) and gets inspiration for meals from our travels together. She loves movies, spending time with family, especially her nieces (one of which is her goddaughter whom she tends to spoil), and reading (a lot!).
Patty is so kind, generous and compassionate that she would probably take in every stray animal she sees if it were possible. Her faith is very important to her and she regularly volunteers at our church events like Feeding the Homeless, Habitat for Humanity, etc. All kids seem to love her immediately, just like I did. She has wanted to be a mother for so long that if we are lucky enough to be blessed with a child, that child would have the most dedicated, loving, nurturing and special mother any child could ever wish for.
Patty truly loves her job working in a large commercial real estate firm and has a very flexible schedule where she can work from home whenever she needs to.
About Marcello written by Patty
Marcello is the funniest person you will ever meet. That was one of the first things that I was attracted to, his ability to make me laugh. He is also the go-to guy for all his friends as he is a “jack of all trades” and can do anything. Whether it’s fixing a flat tire, helping you move (he’s very strong), building something (he did most of the construction of our house), fixing your computer (he’s very tech savvy), hearing about your new business venture (he’s super smart), needing someone to run a marathon with (he’s very athletic) or simply being there for you through the tough times as he’s very compassionate and understanding.
Patty’s 3 nieces absolutely adore Marcello and always want to spend time with him bike riding, going to the beach or playing video games. Seeing him play with them made me realize he would make a great father someday. Marcello loves to run on the beach, surf, bike ride, and plays any sport you can imagine! He loves all kids and has wanted to be a father for a very long time. He has so much love to give that I know if we are blessed with a child, that child would have a life filled with love, laughter and so much happiness.
Marcello enjoys his job as a General Manager at a major retail chain and successfully runs the highest grossing store in California.
We have two rescues: Kodo, who is 6 years old is a German Shephard mix and Rokko, who is 4 years old is a Maltese/Chihuahua mix. Kodo is a gentle giant who is always taking care of and protecting his little brother. He is also great with kids and loves to cuddle with us on the couch when we watch TV. Rokko is a friendly little ball of energy who loves to give kisses to anyone who holds him and kids love to pick him up and play with him. They are very affectionate and loving with us, each other and with every human or animal they come in contact with and are a big, important part of our family. We know they would be just as caring with a baby.
For Thanksgiving both families get together at Patty’s sister’s house where Patty makes the traditional turkey with all the fixings, Marcello cooks his legendary fried turkey and everyone contributes a side dish to the feast. We all love to watch the football game then usually by early evening the little ones are fast asleep thanks to a long day of fun, games and lots of food.
During the Christmas season, all the women in Patty’s family get together bright and early Christmas Eve morning to make hundreds of grandma Lina’s famous tamales (using her secret recipe). They make enough to have for dinner that night but also enough to distribute the leftovers to everyone to have for breakfast on Christmas Day. The family also attends mass on Christmas Eve, Easter, and all major religious events. In recent years we have started a new tradition where we have a tree trimming party combined with a white elephant gift exchange which is always very entertaining and fun and since there are so many participants, it tends to last for hours. These are all traditions that we would love to share and pass on to our child so that they can be handed down to future generations.
We have both grown up and lived in California for most of our lives. However, Marcello was fortunate enough to have also lived in various countries throughout his childhood. He is Italian/ Chilean and is the youngest of three. He has a brother and a sister, and two nieces and two nephews with whom he enjoys spending time with. He loves to play sports and video games with the boys and also with the girls but many times also finds himself coloring or playing board games with just the girls who have on many occasions painted his fingernails!
Patty is Mexican/Spanish and the oldest of five, with three sisters and one brother. She has almost 40 cousins who live locally so holidays are a lot of fun! Her family is beyond excited about the prospect of a new addition to the family and have already volunteered their babysitting services.
Our nieces and nephews can’t wait to pamper and spoil the newest member of the family!
Thank you so much for taking the time to review our profile and for making the selfless and courageous decision of choosing adoption. Although our journey to become parents has been a long and difficult one, our unwavering faith has kept us moving forward and we know God has a plan for us. If we are fortunate enough to have our wish come true and be chosen by you as the parents for your child, please be assured that your child will be raised with unconditional love and support throughout their life.
Thank you for this incredible opportunity. We are beyond excited to become parents for the first time and are happy to answer any questions you may have.
