Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, we now live in Los Angeles, California. We want to THANK YOU for taking the time to get to know us. We know you want the best for your child and we hope that our profile gives you a sense of the type people we are: fun-loving, hard-working, dedicated to each other and those we love. Should you consider us for placement, we would be honored, and look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have. We can’t wait to build a family through adoption.
Five things our friends say about us:
SUPPORTIVE • LOVING • PASSIONATE CREATIVE • FUN
Ashish was longtime friends with Rachel’s stepfamily. We met for the first time at a birthday party for Rachel’s stepsister’s son. We discovered we had a lot of shared interests, such as snowboarding, music, hiking, movies, and most importantly, a love of exploration and adventure. Our second date was a whitewater rafting trip. Ashish wasn’t the strongest swimmer, but felt that dating Rachel was worth the risk of drowning. After a few years of dating (and Ashish risking his life), we were married.
In the nine years since we’ve met, we’ve traveled to various corners of the world and across the US. We have helped each other grow in new ways. We support each other’s goals, help each other through challenges, celebrate each other’s wins, and we look forward to bringing a child into that dynamic.
Rachel is the strongest person I know. She has an unwavering sense of responsibility and that’s the reason she’s been so successful in her life, both personally and professionally.
She balances that responsibility with a fun-loving sense of adventure. Whatever she sets her mind to, she does. She’s just as comfortable going to a movie or a concert as she is with camping in Death Valley or crawling through lava tunnels in Hawaii. She loves making things, whether it’s fresh limeade from our tree, or essential oils from our old lavender farm. She loves kids and easily forms bonds with them. Any child in her care will grow into someone who is prepared for whatever life throws at them. She‘s always encouraging other people to be better and to never stop learning. It’s this sense of adventure and responsibility that she’ll pass on to a child.
Ashish is creative, brilliant, dependable, and sensitive. He has a deep love for animals and makes sure our pets are well cared for. Based on what I’ve seen, I think he will be a loving and disciplined dad who might sneak our child a treat now and then while I’m pretending to look the other direction. Family is important to Ashish and he takes the time to call his loved ones and shows up when they need him most. He balances out my drive and reminds me sometimes it is ok to spend a rainy day curled up on the couch with a good book or movie.
When I first met Ashish, he was working as a chemist and shared that he wanted to someday change to a career in entertainment. He attended film school at nights and now works in production for a major TV network. Ashish is that kind of guy who is willing to take a risk and put in the hard work to better himself when others might hesitate or hold back.
We live in the North Hollywood area of Los Angeles, California. Our neighborhood is a perfect blend of suburban quiet and urban arts district. We live within walking distance to all the neighborhood schools, several parks, the local library, and the downtown arts district. Our home is open and inviting, and feels like an oasis in the middle of the desert. We love having people over for board game nights and dinner parties. Our backyard is filled with fruit trees and vegetables, including bananas, passionfruit, potatoes, kale, and tomatoes. Rachel spends a lot of time out there gardening. We live very close to Griffith Park, where you can hike to the Hollywood sign.
Baxter is a 14 year old terrier mix. As an older “good boy,” he spends a lot of time sleeping, but Ziggy’s youthful energy still keeps him on his toes. He is very loving and protective of his family. His hobbies include sleeping on the couch, sleeping on the floor, sleeping on the bed, sleeping outside, and begging for treats. Ziggy is a 4 year old tabby cat. Besides us, he loves Baxter, cat toys, and food. He’s active and has a lot of energy. Ziggy looks up to Baxter as a big brother and likes to bug him the way a little brother would.

Rachel - I come from a diverse family that is familiar with and supportive of open adoption. My younger brother, Daniel, lives close by and has a child of his own. My mother recently retired with her long-time partner and they visit us both several times a year. My father is also retired and lives an hour away by plane. He and my stepmother visit 2-3 times a year to spend time with us. My stepfamily is African American and we see them at annual family gatherings in the Bay Area. I have cousins across the US who love to spend time with us. One of my cousins has adopted two kids. My brother hosts Thanksgiving each year and we host Christmas. My mother, father and stepmother have all offered to assist with child care. They are excited to welcome another grandchild into the family.
Ashish - I have a younger sister who lives in the Bay Area, along with my parents. I also have a large extended family on my mom‘s side, several of whom live in the Bay Area and in Los Angeles. My family is originally from Fiji and came to the US in the 1970s. My extended family migrated to different parts of the world, and as a result, I have family members in England, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, which makes traveling to those places convenient. We see my parents and sister many times throughout the year. My mom has offered to assist with childcare and is looking forward to spoiling a grandchild.
We promise to support and raise your child to handle life’s challenges with confidence. We will spend time connecting in fun ways every day. We will also teach your child to be kind and to care for others. Most importantly, we will always make sure your child feels safe and loved.
We respect your courage and your decision to choose adoption. We hope that we have shown you how truly excited we are to be parents. We look forward to welcoming your child into our home, and promise to shower them with love. Thank you so much for considering us!
