We are Rachel and Phil from Reading, Massachusetts. Thank you for getting to know us more! And thank you for choosing adoption and for taking the time to read our profile! We are honored to be considered as the potential family for your child. The choice you are making is truly brave and selfless and something to be respected. We will love your child unconditionally if we are lucky enough to be matched. Our biggest hope in life is to have the chance to raise a child in a safe and loving environment where they can grow and thrive.
Our reasons for choosing adoption are many. Rachel has some fertility issues and after learning about adoption, it’s become clear that it is the option we want most. We are excited at the opportunity to complete our family, which has always been our dream. We are looking forward to watching the baby grow, learn, and we are excited to see how their personality develops.
We met at brunch one Sunday afternoon 13 years ago! A few of Phil’s friends from high school introduced us and we have been together ever since. We lived together for 5 years before getting engaged. Phil proposed at the same place we had met that one Sunday. We were married at the New England Aquarium and spent our honeymoon traveling around Maui, which is still one of our most favorite places we’ve visited.
We enjoy being outside and staying active. We love to eat and thankfully we also love to cook! Whether it is at a favorite restaurant or grilling in the backyard, we just really enjoy each other’s company and conversation. We have traveled a decent amount and wish we could travel more as it is one of our favorite things to do. Even if that just means taking a drive and discovering a new town nearby. We love where we live and vacation often in Maine and Vermont where we can ski, sun, ride bikes, and restaurant hop. We can’t wait to share our life with a child!
Rachel is a born mother and kids gravitate towards her. I was scared initially to have children, not having had a lot of experience around kids, but I knew I’d be OK because she could hold my hand through all of it. Rachel has worked with children throughout her life. She was a Nanny for several families and maintains strong relationships with all of the kids she cared for. We have a large friend group, and all of our friends’ kids love her. Rachel is so good at communicating with children, playing with them, and setting structure when needed. She is full of love to give and I am so excited at the chance for her to be a mom to a lucky kid.
Phil loves children and will be the most amazing dad. Phil is fun-loving and will be a very dedicated father. He cannot wait to have the chance to play sports, cook, draw and be adventurous with his future son or daughter. Phil loves to golf, ride his bike, grill his favorite foods and read.
Overall, Phil is one of the friendliest people I know and this extends to how he treats his family and friends.
I fell in love with Phil for his open mind, sense of humor and for how smart he is. He always makes me feel loved, supported and safe. I look forward to parenting with him as I know how great he will be.

Our house is a cozy cape on a hill, with a private nice-sized yard for the dogs to run and play. We live in Reading, Massachusetts, which is a suburb of Boston. It’s a nice, family-friendly community with great schools!
Right around the corner from us there is a nice park with a playground, basketball and tennis courts, and a softball field. In the winter months, the town creates two big frozen ponds and hangs lights, so that people can ice skate and play hockey. Reading has a cute downtown with plenty of shops and restaurants as well as a train station only a few stops from downtown Boston.
We have one son, Bennett. Sadly, he passed away from a brain tumor in 2019. He was 22 months old. In Bennett's short life, he taught us how important raising a family is to us and the beauty of unconditional love. He loved music and had a funny sense of humor. We promise to parent your child with the same love and affection as we have for Bennett. We will do everything we can to help foster their natural abilities, to allow them to grow and be the best person that they can be.
We have 2 dogs. Their names are Frankie (a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with a big personality) and Weazy (a big, goofy, but very loving Yellow Lab). We walk them every day and love playing with them in the yard. They are around children all of the time and are great with kids.
We feel very lucky to have most of our family members close by. Everyone is very excited to welcome the newest addition to the family! There will be no shortage of helping hands. During the holidays we love to have both sides of the family over to celebrate! We all have a love for cooking and playing board games together. One of our favorites is Pictionary. We feel fortunate as well to have so many dear friends that live close by. We often get together and all of the kids know each other well and love playing together.
Both of us believe parenting is one of life’s most precious and fulfilling gifts. We promise to love this child for who they are and to provide a nurturing home where they can blossom. We promise to listen and respect your child while guiding them through life with structure. One rule that is important to us, is to always to treat others how you wish to be treated, and that is a guiding philosophy we promise to instill. We promise to make education and learning a priority and to give them the tools they need to grow up and achieve their dreams. We promise to love your child unconditionally.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. Your bravery and desire for your child’s happiness are beyond words. We are so grateful for you and wish you the best of luck moving forward.
