Greetings from San Francisco! We may not know each other yet but we hope that by going through this profile you will get to know us more. You will be able to see the love we have for each other, family, hobbies, multi-cultural background and the life your child could have with us.
We want to thank you for spending time reading our profile and considering our family to raise your child.
When we wanted to build our family we realized that Mother Nature decided that we would not have biological children. While it was difficult news to hear, it made us stronger and we grew as a couple by enjoying life to its fullest. Most importantly, it put us on the exciting path to adoption. We have had the opportunity to live in several countries, meet exceptional people and discover so many cultures. We feel we want to share our love with our future baby as well as passing our knowledge and values down to the next generations.
We met at a house party when we were both college students. That night Rina didn't want to go out but her friend told her "Maybe you will meet someone?" When Alex opened the door, the first person he saw was Rina and it was love at first sight. We have been living a true love story since that keeps getting stronger through life events. We have had the opportunity to live in China, Japan, Thailand, France and California. Each time we adapted quickly and made a lot of friends. Along the journey we gained knowledge, opened our minds and kept our character: Funny, honest, generous and curious. During the weekend we like going for a drive in the countryside, hiking, have a picnic and play tennis with friends. Family is important for us and we visit them several times each year in Japan and France or welcome them at our home in California.
We are both very curious and like trying new activities and discovering new places. The main hobbies we share are food, traveling and playing tennis. We also regularly go to classic and jazz concerts. Alex plays guitar and Rina plays Chinese harp, we would like our future child to learn music too.
We are outdoor people and we often go for a hike in the neighboring mountains or a walk by sunset at the beach. We are looking forward to be playing on the beach, building a sand castle, going to our local park and zoo.
Alex loves classic cars, owns 2 of them, regularly attends car shows and watches Formula 1. He can't wait to share his passion with our future child. Rina enjoys working out at the gym.
Rina loves cooking. When she travels she always make sure to learn local dishes and to buy local products so that she can cook them when back home. Alex reads a lot, especially historic adventure stories and European comics. He hopes that our future child will enjoy the same stories.
We are excited to share our family background and show our future child our home countries, our traditions and cultures.
I was born in China and raised in Japan. During college, I met Alex who came to study Chinese language. We fell in love and started our journey together. I love meeting people, sharing stories and food. I enjoy inviting friends home to host dinner and organize Japanese and French seasonal events. After arriving in San Francisco, I decided to pursue my career of law and started to go to law school at University of San Francisco. Even though it is a complicated subject, I always find joy in learning new knowledge and share something I learned with my friends.
I love making people laugh so am I always smiling. I truly believe the world is a better place if you smile - I like making jokes too! I like working out at the gym and playing tennis. If I become a parent I want to make healthy and delicious food from all over the world, play with our child and laugh together, teaching about the beautiful things in life and be a strong parent to protect and guide them when things are tough.
Rina is the most genuine and honest person I have ever met. She is always true to herself and shows her true feelings. She has a natural talent to socialize with people and when we move to a new place I can be sure that she will know half of the city within a few weeks. She has unlimited energy and is always the entertainer. She is always cheerful and when I am down or have moments of doubt she is always here to support me. I admire her ability to take on challenges and doesn't shy away. After arriving in the US she decided she would take a law degree. Rina is also full of wisdom and common sense. This helps her making the right decisions and solve issues in a very practical, sensible and efficient manner. Most importantly she is a real clown, the funniest person I've met. Our niece, nephews and our friend's children always love hanging out with her, even if sometimes they don't speak the same language!
I was born and raised in France until I had the opportunity to go study in China. This is where I met Rina and instead of going back to France I decided to stay and find a job. After several years I moved to Japan, then Thailand and finally landed in San Francisco 2 years ago. I am very curious and love to learn about how things work. I also usually know what I want, set ambitious goals and manage to reach them. My friends and family enjoy my energy and humor. I always love making a joke and I believe it brings people together. I use my humor every day at work with my colleagues. I am currently working in the automotive business for an international company. As I am passionate about cars and other cultures, this job is the perfect fit for me.
I am excited to become a parent so that we can play together, laugh a lot and discover the world together. I want to see our future child grow daily and learn as well as passing my values of tolerance, patience and care for others.
Alex is someone who keeps his promises. He is very responsible and always caring about family and friends. He does not let someone be alone when they are going through a hard time. He has several childhood friends from France and when they are having a good time or difficult time, he is always there for them. Alex is resilient to challenges (he does not give up!) and is successful in his endeavors. He has been passionate about cars since he is 2 years old and it became his career. He is always cheering others. When we hike, I sometimes want to quit but he always encourages me to continue and achieve the goal. He loves sharing knowledge. He learns through his grandmother, life experience, books, games, and museums. Last but not the least, he is so funny! He makes jokes all the time, makes everyone laugh and kids love him! Whenever we meet Alex's nephew and niece, they love playing with him and won't let him go!
We live in the beautiful Pacific Heights district in San Francisco. Our home is a secured condominium in a residential area with a view on the Golden Gate Bridge. We are within walking distance of everything we need: 2 big parks with playgrounds, the sea side, private schools, pediatrics, hospitals, farmer's market, grocery stores, library, shops. The gigantic Golden Gate Park is a 10 minutes drive. We enjoy San Francisco weather, often sunny, never too cold or too hot. Our living room is facing the bay, we have beautiful views of mountains, the ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge. The open kitchen can oversee the living room and dining area that is very bright and spacious. One of the bedrooms is ready to turn into our future child's room. We have the San Francisco symphony, ballet and opera hall, and a jazz club nearby our residence. We have easy and quick access to nature, seaside and mountains just by crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. We can see July 4th fireworks and Blue Angels air show from our living room. This family friendly neighborhood offers everything a family could hope for.
Alex’s Family: Alex's family is living in France, close to Paris. His parents have been married for 50 years and are very active He has 2 older brothers, the second one is married and has 2 beautiful children.
Rina’s Family: Rina's grandparents live in China and are in great health at almost 100 years old. Her parents and older brother live close to Tokyo, Japan. Despite the distance and the different languages we are all very close, regularly talk on the phone and meet in either country.
When we are all together it is a happy mess as we keep changing languages to make sure everybody understands.
We spend holidays with Alex's childhood friends and their children. Since we are together, we have built strong friendships with the people we met along the way. We are like one big family and always participate in each other's life events. Some of these good old friends are also living in San Francisco with their children and are very supportive.
We thank you for the time you spent reading about us and getting to know us. We will devote our life to providing your child with a fun, loving and caring home. We will make sure that your child knows where they come from and that they were deeply loved by you. We are excited to get to know you.
With love, Rina and Alex
