We are Rob, Jamie & Reb from Austin, Texas. We appreciate you taking the time to look at our profile! Your well-being in this process is really important to us, and we admire your courage in the decision you are making for your child. This is something we will always hold close to us with respect and gratitude. We are excited that you are considering us as adoptive parents. Here’s a little glimpse into our lives, and how we hope to expand our family. If it feels right, and there is a connection, we would be thrilled to meet you!
What We Do for Fun
We have a wide range of interests and hobbies, and always like experiencing and learning new things! Some of the things we enjoy:
• Scuba Diving
• Riding Dirt Bikes
• Travel & Exploring
• Skiing & Snowboarding
In addition to those, Jamie loves building and creating things! He likes to sew and quilt, and also makes mosaic art pieces. He also enjoys cooking and makes some of the best risotto you’ll ever taste!
Rob is an avid photographer, his favorite subjects are cityscapes and landmarks. He’s also started taking piano lessons this year and is catching on fast!
Our Amazing Adventure
We met and became friends 16 years ago, but it wasn’t a love story until some time later. While on vacation in Rome with friends we had an awesome time hanging out together. Maybe it was the romantic view of the Coluseum at night, or maybe the amazing food, but after that trip we started dating.
Fast forward eleven years and here we are, happily married and living on a ranch in Texas. We also have a home in Los Angeles that we visit often. We are truly fortunate for the life we share together.
We both own our own businesses in the finance industry, Jamie is a CPA and helps people in many different fields and occupations with accounting and tax filing for their small businesses. Rob is a financial planner and is able to help individuals in saving, investing, and making sure they are on the right path financially.
In July, 2018 we were blessed with the birth and adoption of our son, Robert Brown V, or Reb as we call him. Fatherhood has been the biggest adventure of all. Just watching him play and learn is always the best part of our day. We can't wait to show him the world!
Getting to Know Jamie
Wow, I am such a lucky guy and so fortunate to have a wonderful family and husband! I’ve always been someone who strives to achieve anything I set my mind to and am not easily dissuaded. When I set my mind to something it usually happens.
I’ve always had a connection with animals, and we had lots growing up. I didn’t grow up on a ranch or farm, but in the city which makes the story even more funny! My brother and I had pet goats when we were younger. We treated them just like we would a dog, bringing them into the house at night. They slept in the bathroom and we had to remember to put up the tissue paper otherwise the goats would eat it!
Taking care of animals I learned how important it is to be responsible and do a job as best you can no matter if it’s running a company or cleaning out a dog food bowl. In both instances someone is depending on you, and you gotta do your best! As a parent I want to instill in my children the importance of character and of responsibility. That all you have to do is your best and everything else will fall into place. That everyone makes mistakes and the true measure of a person is what they do afterwards.
During the week I have a pretty normal life. I'm a public accountant which means I have lots of clients from all different backgrounds and industries, and I help them each with their financial needs. Some are even famous and you would recognize their names or music! Its an amazing job cause I get to see what so many different professions are like. And also focusing on small businesses I help real people build and grow their dreams!
My work is very flexible since I'm the boss, so I have lots of time for activities and interests. I love to travel and explore other lands and cultures. Check out some of our pics from prior trips. I also love to create things, pretty much anything! Right now I'm focused on sewing and mosaic making. I definitely got the creative gene, and love building things too!
Getting to Know Rob
Hi there! I’m Rob and I look forward to meeting you! My story starts in rural central Texas, where I was raised on a cattle ranch. My brother and I would spend countless hours entertaining ourselves outside. At a young age, I also developed a passion for movies, and we always had a video camera with us!
That love for movies led me to the University of Texas film school program. I also became very involved with my fraternity, being elected social chairman, then president, and later house manager. During my year as president, our chapter received the outstanding chapter award, along with 8 other prestigious awards. After graduation, I packed up everything and moved to Los Angeles.
With just a few hundred dollars and no industry contacts, I pounded the pavement and worked my way up the entertainment ladder, from intern, to executive assistant, to production coordinator. I had the opportunity to work on many major Hollywood motion pictures, and work on location in Boston, Louisiana, Seattle, and Vancouver.
I’ve been very fortunate, and I’ve been able to experience many exciting things. I want to do all I can to give our children that opportunity as well, and I can’t wait to share that adventure with them!
Jamie and I had been together for a few years, and we wanted to settle down, buy a house, and begin our family. My priorities were shifting, and it was time to change paths. I saw a unique opportunity to help fellow film crew members with their financial planning so I went back to school. In 2016, I passed the Certified Financial Planning exam and started my own business.

Home Sweet Home – Austin, Texas
A couple years ago, we built a house on Rob’s family ranch outside of Austin, Texas, and last year we made this our forever home! We love weekend projects whether they are working on our garden or helping out with the cows and goats.
The ranch is a beautiful 1,000 acre property, with about 200 head of cattle, a small creek, and lots of places for kids to play and explore. Rob’s family has owned the property since the 1850s.
We also spend a good amount of time in Los Angeles. We love relaxing in the back yard, and have recently taught Reb to swim! Reb also loves exploring the local parks, and we enjoy nights out at dinners with friends.
5 Places/Activities We Love
- Downtown because of the diverse cultures, the flower markets, and the city energy
- Pride festivals to celebrate individuality
- The Huntington Library and Museum to enjoy their beautiful gardens
- LA Rams Games with our friends
- The Griffith Observatory to satisfy our curiosity of the universe
Love Makes a Family
Rob comes from a small family and everyone still lives in Texas. His mom and dad separated a few years back, and his dad remarried just last year. His dad, Bobby, lives on the ranch with his new wife, Drea. Drea has two adult children and a grandchild, who we have become very close with. Rob has one brother, Reggie, who also lives on the ranch. Uncle Reggie, as he is called, is a hoot and kids love hanging with him!
Jamie’s parents separated when he was very young, and both remarried. Jamie has four brothers including one foster brother. His mom lives in Denver with two of the brothers and foster brother, and his Dad is still in CA and lives near his other brother.
Jamie has lots of ‘step’ family and has known from a young age that love is more important than blood.
Our Little Man
Reb was born in July of 2018 and he’s already grown into a very curious and smart little boy! We were matched with his birthmother about a month before he was born, and were there at his birth. Jamie cut the cord, and Reb has been with us since his first breath!
Reb is very active and super social! He loves getting out of the house, whether it’s for a quick dinner out, or a trip to LA. I think he likes to travel as much as his daddies do! In addition to being super smart, he’s also very friendly and loves people. I know this will make him a great big brother.
Farewell for Now
We really appreciate you taking the time to read our story, and getting to know us.
It’s sometimes difficult to fully express one’s excitement in words, but we are truly thrilled and ready to begin this next chapter in our lives. We have an extremely strong support group full of family and friends, and they’re all anxiously waiting to meet the newest member of our family! If you feel like we might be the right parents for your child, we’d love the chance to meet you.
