WARM GREETINGS TO YOU
We are Adrian and Stacy, and we want nothing more than to build our family by becoming parents through adoption. You are making an incredibly brave decision in pursuing adoption, and we will not take that for granted. We are honored and humbled that you would consider us. We know that you want to find the best possible adoptive family for your child, and we hope that family is us. We have a stable relationship that has stood the test of time (20 years!), and we have so much love and laughter to give. Your child will be cherished and supported by two adoring parents, an awesome extended family, and a strong circle of friends.
OUR LOVE STORY
We met our freshman year in the marching band at UCLA, where Stacy played the flute and Adrian played the baritone. We hit it off as friends almost immediately, and we started dating our sophomore year. Adrian proposed at the start of our senior year, so we spent our senior year of college planning a wedding, looking for our first jobs out of school, and studying for our last set of finals. Since we married right out of college, we grew together, both personally and professionally. We supported each other through multiple career changes, and after twenty years of marriage, there’s no one else we would rather spend time with.
ADRIAN by Stacy
Adrian is the most patient person I know. He always knows what to say to help calm my nerves after a long day of work. Adrian challenges me to look at situations from different perspectives, which helps me continue to grow. Adrian pushes me out of my shell to try new things, like ziplining across a river in Vail, Colorado. I can’t wait to watch him challenge a young child to try things out of their comfort zone.
I know Adrian will make a great dad after watching him interact with our nieces and nephew. He finds a way to connect with each child, based on their unique interests and personalities. He sits on the floor to play dolls with Ashley, which melts my heart, and he will repeat imaginary storylines and scenarios with her over and over. Kaelyn snuggles right into his side to watch videos, and Cameron just recently started playing Nintendo Switch games with Adrian.
STACY by Adrian
I believe Stacy will be an absolutely amazing mother. Her combination of warmth and love with an unmatched work ethic will serve her so well as the mother to our child. Stacy just glows with love when she plays with Ashley, our niece. Our trips up to the Bay Area to visit family and friends may be short, but I see Stacy smile and laugh just a little bigger and louder when we spend time with her loved ones. Stacy develops very tight bonds and feelings for the friends who are the dearest to her. It is one of Stacy’s best traits, and I cannot wait for her to develop those bonds with our child.
A PLACE CALLED HOME
We live in Los Angeles, California, just fifteen minutes from Hollywood. We live in a four-bedroom home at the end of a quiet street, so we have plenty of room for a new family member. In addition to our master bedroom and a home office, we have a guest room so we can host our out-of-town friends who visit regularly. We also have a room set aside for a nursery. We cook up homemade blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs on weekend mornings, which makes our out-of-town guests quite happy, and we look forward to inviting a child into this weekly tradition. We spend Friday and Saturday evenings dining with friends at new restaurants or visiting old favorites near our home. We don’t mess around when it comes to coffee, and we celebrate the end of the work week with “Coffee Bean Friday.” When summer hits, we spend weekend days at the beach. We may jog along the beach in Malibu or Santa Monica, and then we set up for a picnic afternoon with friends on the warm sand. If we can’t make it out to the beach, we hike Fryman Canyon near our home. We take in at least one concert per summer with friends at the Hollywood Bowl. We venture out to Disneyland a few times a year to hit up the rides, often with Adrian’s sister, Erika, and to catch World of Color at night. During baseball season, we head out to Dodgers Stadium, where Adrian cheers for the Dodgers, and Stacy roots for the San Francisco Giants. We can’t wait to take a child with us to enjoy the fresh air and soak up the outdoor sights of Los Angeles.
OUR BAY AREA FAMILY
Stacy’s family lives in the San Francisco Bay Area in California. She talks to her dad on the phone every night, chatting about everything from her dad’s golfing and tutoring to our beloved San Francisco Giants. When we first told her dad about adoption, he fist-pumped with excitement, and then his eyes filled with happy tears over the thought of a new grandchild in the family. We FaceTime weekly with Stacy’s brother, Ryan, sister-in-law, Gina, and our adorable niece, Ashley. We travel to the Bay Area every few months to visit, and we cram these weekends with family dinners, games with Ryan, and playtime with Ashley (especially dolls, arts and crafts, and video games). They have already started talking about making regular visits down to Los Angeles to spend time with their new niece or nephew.
OUR LOS ANGELES FAMILY
Adrian’s family is based here in the Los Angeles area, so we see them often. His mom started crying on the phone when we told her that we are adopting, and she already promised lots of baby-sitting help. Adrian’s sister, Erika, is adopted and has grown up loving Stacy like a big sister. She is thrilled to assume auntie duties. Adrian’s brother, Ruben, and our sister-in-law, Wendy, have their hands full with Kaelyn and Cameron, our niece and nephew, and Adrian likes playing soccer with them in their backyard. On his mom’s side alone, Adrian has five aunts and uncles and fourteen first cousins, which leads to lively, joyful parties filled with laughter and tons of food. In fact, we’ve been lucky enough to host over 40 family members for the annual Christmas party and summer birthday party in our home.
OUR ADVENTURES EXPLORING THE WORLD
We love to travel. Our journeys have taken us across the globe, and we are excited to share our adventures with a child. Our favorite summer trips include strolling down the Champs-Elysees in Paris, France, as well as marveling at Stonehenge in England. Most recently, we star-gazed from the top of Mauna Kea and played in the crystal clear Pacific on the Big Island in Hawaii. Past trips include:
