Hello!  We are Tami and Jason from Texas.  We are so excited to be growing our family through adoption!  We were both raised in Texas and we can’t imagine any place better to raise our own family.  We have been married for 7 years and have enjoyed every minute together.

Dear Birthmother,

We’d like you to know:  We cannot know exactly what has brought you to our profile, but we can guess that, like us, your journey included both heartache and hope.  The most important thing that brings us together now is the love of a child.  And we absolutely promise to love your child with everything we have, until the end of our days.  We promise to provide an environment full of reading and learning, songs and games, adventure and boundaries.  We promise to love, encourage, challenge, teach, correct and comfort.

Our Story

We met way back in high school but we were little more than acquaintances with a few classes together before Tami’s family moved to California.  During college we saw each other a few times when Tami would come to visit Texas; her best friend was Jason’s friend and coworker during college.  A few years after college, when both of us had moved back to Texas, our mutual friend was coming for a visit so Tami invited Jason to join them for dinner one night and sparks flew.  The next day, the three of us visited an amusement park together and the connection between us was truly underway.  We were married just a little over a year after we started dating.

We’ve been married for 7 years now.  We’ve made quality family time a priority in our home.  Jason works as a programmer and often gets to work from home.  Tami taught elementary school but now works part time as a tutor in the evenings so that one of us will always be home with baby.

A Little Bit About Jason

Jason in Tami’s Eyes

Jason is the kindest and most warm-hearted person I have ever known.  His biggest priority in life is ensuring that the people he loves are as happy as possible.  He’s a complete softy and always cries during emotional moments in movies, TV shows, books and commercials.  He is so clumsy that he has even stepped on his own toes before.  He can be counted on to give everything he has to every project he undertakes, both at home and at work.   Nobody who knows him is ever in doubt of his dedication and caring.  He makes friends with everyone he meets because he is so genuinely nice.  At work he is a popular personality, frequently requested as the person people want to work with more.  Jason definitely has “dad humor”.  He never hesitates to be goofy or silly.  I know our children will enjoy laughing with him, and someday when they’re “too cool for it,” they’ll be rolling their eyes at him.   One thing is for sure, they will never, ever doubt how much he loves and cares for them.  I am constantly aware of how blessed I am to have Jason to spend all of my time with.  I never have to doubt his love and dedication and I know our children will feel exactly the same way.

A Little Bit About Tami

Tami in Jason’s Eyes

Tami is the most loving, caring, sincere and funny person I know (and she loves a good foot rub).  She’s my favorite person to spend time with; no matter what we’re doing, we can have fun.  These great aspects of her personality effortlessly transfers to the little ones in our lives – nieces and nephew, friend’s children and her past students.  She’s all of our nieces’ “favorite aunt”, even though we don’t live in the same state as any of them.  Tami is a born mother and teacher – a supportive and nurturing soul.  Her dedication to her passions – teaching, sharing her love of reading and making our house a home – is obvious to anyone who knows her.  Watching her interact with her past students (all of whom called her ‘Mom’ at one time or another), really shows how patient and compassionate she is.  Her compassion spills over into our relationship as well; she’s my one true partner in everything I do.  Whether it’s tirelessly working on our-next-house-project or supporting me when I’m having a tough day; I love that she’s my wife and I can’t imagine life without her.  She’s amazing and I can’t wait to start our journey as parents with her.

Our Family and Friends

Tami’s parents live just 10 minutes from our home; they’ve been married for over 40 years.  Tami has 3 sisters, one of whom lives an hour away; the others live in New Jersey and Iowa and we try to see them at least once a year.  Her sister in New Jersey has 2 daughters and her sister in Iowa has a daughter and a son.  Jason’s parents live 15 minutes from our home and they have also been married for over 40 years.  Jason is an only child, but he has a lot of aunts, uncles and cousins just a few hours away.  We are blessed to have a handful of wonderful friends to spend time with (and swap home improvement help with too).  They all have children, some even through adoption.  We enjoy meeting up for game nights, dinner parties and any other reason we can come up with.  Our family and friends, near and far, are extremely excited about our adoption.  They can’t wait to meet and welcome our newest family member.

Home, Sweet Home

We live in a 3 bedroom home with lots of space for the whole family to be together.  Our home is nestled in an established neighborhood with lots of big trees (which is very important in Texas in the summer).  We are close to 3 different parks as well as a short walk to our elementary school.  We live in a suburb that is consistently ranked among the best cities for families in Texas and it’s located between 2 lakes, so there is plenty of outdoor fun to be had.  Our town has lots of great parks to visit and organizes fun family activities throughout the year.

Meet the Pets

We love sharing our home with our 5 rescue pets.  They range in age from 10 to 2 years old and they fill our home with lots of joy, love and laughter.  All of the animals are great with little kids.

Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know our family!
