Tanya and Keith

Dear Birth Mother

We are Tanya and Keith!  We thank you for considering us as the adoptive parents of your beautiful child.  We view life as an adventure and we revel in the twists and turns, highs and lows, much like an amazing hike.  We were married in 2013 and knew right away we wanted a family!  Unfortunately our journey was not an easy one and we realized that we were not going to be able to get pregnant.  We knew that we wanted to be parents more than anything and truly believed that there must be something very special in store for us.  We are so excited for this new opportunity and look forward to the chance of finally becoming parents!  We promise to love and nurture your child and to provide a stable and happy home.  We are very family-oriented and promise to provide a good education, to expose your child to several languages, to model good values and to instill confidence and a strong sense of self.  We would be so honored if you allowed us the opportunity to share with you a brief glimpse of who we are and the family we are waiting to become.  We hope this inspires you to read a little more and find out more about us.

Our Story

Our story began at a little fondue restaurant in San Diego.  Keith came in with flowers and a jar of Jif Natural, Tanya’s favorite peanut butter.  We had an amazing time and talked for hours.  We both had a strong sense that night we just met the person we each were meant to spend the rest of our life with. From that moment on, we have been inseparable.  We married 17 months later and have been so committed to each other, our love and the hopes of growing our blessed family.  We make a great team and love to do things together including travel, house chores, hiking and paddle boarding.

A Little about Tanya

I am the eldest of three girls and was raised in a French Canadian and Italian family, in Canada.  As a child, I loved school, loved my friends and also loved to sing.  I was part of the choir and the singer of our school band growing up and to this day, I still love to sing.  Friends and family are very important to me and I love to have a house full of people for birthdays, holidays or just because.  I also love the outdoors and hike one or twice a week with Keith and with friends.  There is nothing like being out in nature, walking along the beach and enjoying the fresh air.  I also truly enjoy my job as a Speech-Language Pathologist and I work in a hospital.  I am so excited to be a Mom, I have had a wonderful life thus far and feel that the one thing missing is children.

Why Keith Loves Tanya

Tanya brings the perfect balance to our relationship, she is absolutely the most social, friendly, compassionate and driven person I have ever known.  She amazes me every day and makes me smile just by being close.  I love her passion for her work and the stand she takes advocating for her patients. Mostly, I love watching her face light up when she is around kids!  Her energy and spirit soar off the charts when she is around little ones, from our nieces and nephews to the growing families of our close friends.  She is always the favorite Aunt and will be the most amazing Mom!

Tanya’s Hobbies

Hiking • Paddle boarding • Cooking • Hosting TV night with friends • Movies • Concerts • Shows • Traveling • expanding knowledge of different countries, their foods and languages

A Little about Keith

I was born and raised in the suburbs of Boston, the oldest of three with a sister and brother.  After graduating from college in Massachusetts, I moved to Los Angeles to start Chiropractic College to obtain my doctorate.  I come from a fun and supportive family that still live in the Boston area.  I married into an amazing family and feel like I have been a part of that group forever as well.  I was very fortunate to have a great childhood with pool parties, family and neighborhood barbecues, sports, sports, and more sports.  I have always pictured myself as a dad, coaching our children’s sports teams, barbecuing in the yard and playing catch.  Even as much as being the brunt of the inside joke between my wife and kids for terrible home improvement attempts.  It sounds PERFECT!

Why Tanya Loves Keith

Keith is very generous and is always the first one to help someone out and give of his time.  He is kind, loving, funny, loves to tell jokes and doesn’t take himself too seriously.  He is also very playful which makes him very popular with kids.  You can find him throwing a football or Frisbee or wrestling around with the nieces and nephews in the pool.  I can’t wait to see Keith as a father because I know he will be such a devoted, loving, caring and fun dad!

Keith’s Hobbies

Traveling • scuba diving • Barbecues • Concerts and Shows • Sports • Hiking with Tanya • Exploring different countries and cultures

San Diego!

We live in one of the most amazing cities in the country.  We live in a suburban neighborhood, and it allows us the most amazing lifestyle.  We are nestled in the foothills of a regional park with tremendous hiking trails and the highest peak in San Diego County!  San Diego is such a great city with great schools, wonderful restaurants and the weather of dreams.  We live a short drive to the beach where we can swim, paddle board, snorkel or just ride bikes along the board walk. In the winter, we can be skiing within two hours.  We live about 90 minutes from Disneyland and California Adventure, we are always doing something fun and adventurous!

Our Family and Friends

Tanya’s parents live in Canada and Keith’s parents live in Boston.  Tanya has 2 sisters who are both married and have 2 children each.  Keith has a younger brother who has a great girlfriend and Keith’s sister is married and has 2 children.  We are both very close to our families and go home to Canada and Boston at least once a year while also hosting family visits in San Diego.  We are crazy about our nieces and nephews and will speak on the phone or video chat many times throughout the week.  Our family is big into game nights, with Quelf being the family favorite, and can spend hours playing our vast collections of games and laughing to the brink of tears.  We love to celebrate holidays by preparing traditional and non-traditional foods where conversation and stories have us at the table for hours.
