Greetings from Washington, D.C.! We are Tasha and Randy. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to get to know us and for you to consider us as potential adoptive parents of your child. We have been on a journey to becoming parents for quite a while now but we continue to stay very excited about the potential of sharing our lives with a little one.
Our journey into parenthood has been both emotional and filled with hope. We both came into our marriage without children of our own but we both share the same dream to one day become parents. Infertility has made that path far from easy, but the opportunity to grow our family through adoption has filled our hearts with gratitude and excitement. We both love children and cannot wait to share our lives with a little one. Our home, family, and circle of friends are filled with love, laughter, and traditions that we believe will create a warm and welcoming environment for your child. We are truly honored that you are considering us to be adoptive parents and we want you to know, we will not let you down!
We met six years ago in North Carolina and have been inseparable ever since. Neither of us was actively looking for“the one”at the time, but from the very beginning, our connection felt easy and genuine. Our early dates were filled with laughter, cooking together and meaningful conversations. We talked openly about our values, our love for our families and close friends, and our dreams for the future including our shared hope of building a family one day. Those conversations deepened our bond and laid the foundation for the life that we have built together. A few years later, we were married in a beautiful ceremony surrounded by the people we love most. We have now been married for three years, and it has been an incredible journey filled with love, growth, mutual respect, and unwavering support for one another. We truly feel like partners in every sense of the word and are excited to take the next step to becoming parents together.
Holiday Magic: One tradition that Tasha would love to pass down is her love of the holiday season. She enjoys baking cookies, decorating, and spreading holiday cheer with family and friends. Each year, we choose a special holiday destination to visit together. From the sparkling Christmas markets of Europe to the festive celebrations in New York City, these trips have become a highlight of our year. We look forward to sharing this tradition with a child and can’t wait to create magical memories and share the joy of family traditions both at home and around the world.
Curious Mind: A trait Randy hopes to pass along is curiosity. He has a passion for seeking out new knowledge, experiences, and ideas. As a history buff, his love of learning has been enriched by international travel, where he had the opportunity to explore different cultures and perspectives. He looks forward to sharing his stories, and even more importantly, creating new adventures with a child by his side.
Family Adventures: Together, we hope to nurture a love for discovery, travel, and creating meaningful traditions. More than anything, we want to give a child the gift of feeling deeply loved, celebrated, and encouraged to be their authentic self while filling their life with experiences that inspire wonder, joy, and a strong sense of belonging.
I grew up as an only child, very close to my mom, grandmother, and great grandmother — three women who were truly my world. They surrounded me with love, togetherness, and traditions that I still cherish today. From an early age, they instilled in me values like integrity, pride in who I am, and the importance of using my voice to advocate for others. Those lessons have guided my life and shaped my career, where I have devoted my time and talents to helping others and expanding access for underserved communities. In addition to my family, my close sister circle is an important part of my life. I feel it is vital to be surrounded by women who reflect the values I believe in and who encourage me to keep growing and becoming my best self. I look forward to becoming a mother and modeling the qualities I hold dear — confidence, compassion, and kindness. My greatest blessing will be the gift of motherhood, and my hope is to raise a child who feels loved, supported and empowered to be their authentic self.
Tasha is the perfect combination of beauty, compassion, intelligence, resilience, and determination—I know that is a lot, but its true! Everyone who meets her immediately recognizes her warmth, sincerity, and love of family. Her laugh is infectious, and her smile warms my soul. One of her greatest gifts is her love of children. She lights up when friends and family talk about their kids, or when their children call her to share stories about school, fashion, and everyday life. In my eyes, my wife is the closest thing to perfection. Our path to building a family has not been easy, but Tasha has shown grace, strength, and unwavering determination every step of the way. We often talk about nature versus nurture, and I believe it is a beautiful blend of both. My hope is that our future child will inherit the loving and caring traits of both their birth mother and Tasha, and grow into a compassionate, intelligent, and resilient person that both moms can be proud of.
I love and get along with everyone. I was fortunate to be raised in a diverse household where I was introduced to different belief systems, politics, as well as different cultures. When I think of the type of family that I want to have, my child will hopefully grow to be comfortable with individuals with different backgrounds, beliefs and cultures. I love to learn new things, and I can’t wait to share that with our future child. I love spending my time with family, I have 3 sisters, two older and one younger. My parents were blessed with the ability to grow our family by adopting my youngest sister. As I begin to think about how I want my child to be raised, I sit and think about how fierce my youngest sister is about the care of my parents. Watching the dynamics of my siblings has shown me that family is not simply about blood relation, it is about who you love and who you choose to show up for. Once Tasha and I are blessed with a child to care for, we will pass down the same unwavering love and devotion that I was blessed to witness with my family.
What I love most about Randy is his heart. He is genuine and his kindness shines through. He truly has the purest soul of anyone I know. His sense of humor keeps me laughing and he always lifts me up with patience and understanding. Randy is my best friend and biggest cheerleader. I admire how open minded and non judgmental he is, and how he brings a calm steadiness to every situation. From the beginning of our relationship, Randy spoke about his dream of having a family. It was never just a dream for him, it was more of a calling. He has always envisioned raising a child, sharing his hobbies, creating memories, and exposing them to amazing experiences. When I married Randy, I knew I was not just gaining a wonderful husband, but I was also gaining the promise of an incredible father. His love for family is unconditional, and I know in my heart that he will be the most loving dad, instilling the same compassion, humor and kindness that define who he is.
We live in a vibrant, family-friendly high-rise community in the heart of Washington, D.C. Our neighborhood is surrounded by national parks, museums, and botanical gardens, all within walking distance, making it an ideal environment for family outings and educational experiences. The diverse community we live in has allowed us to build meaningful relationships with neighbors—one of whom even officiated our wedding! We are friends with other parents and pediatricians within our building who are excited to support us as we begin our journey to parenthood. We have been fortunate to witness many of our neighbors grow their families and enjoy attending birthday parties and milestone celebrations for their children along the way. We love that our home and community is close-knit, supportive, full of love and friendships.
Tasha works for an organization that supports entrepreneurs of color and women by providing them with resources and funding to launch and grow their businesses. She is proud of the work she does because representation matters to her, and her work allows her to create opportunities for talented people who may have been overlooked due to race or gender. She also appreciates that her job is flexible, family friendly, and allows her to work from home, which means she can be present as a parent while continuing to do work that inspires her.
Randy is a lifelong public servant who is passionate about the safety and wellbeing of others. Following in his fathers footsteps, at the age of 18 he proudly raised his hand to volunteer to serve in the U.S. Army, eventually graduating college and commissioning as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Army Reserves. Randy transitioned to public service and currently serves as a senior intelligence chief within the federal government where he remains passionate about protecting those in need.
Our two Shih Tzus, Sophie and Shiloh, can’t wait to welcome a new bundle of joy into our family! They are loving, playful pups who adore cuddles, squeaky toys and neighborhood walks. They are also seasoned explorers, always ready for an adventure at one of the nearby national parks. Sophie and Shiloh have the gentlest spirits and a special love for both babies and elderly people. They bring joy wherever they go and can’t wait to have a new two-legged sibling to snuggle and play with soon.
We feel so fortunate to have a close knit circle of family and friends who are fun, loving, and supportive. They lift us up on the days we need it most and fill our lives with love and laughter. Holidays are some of our favorite times of the year. They are filled with cooking, laughing, and watching our nieces and nephews play. Randy’s family is beautifully diverse and they bring a wonderful mix of cultural traditions, so there is always plenty of food, games, and stories to share. We love when our friend’s kids FaceTime or text us to share about school, sports, and everyday life. It warms our hearts that they trust and enjoy talking with us. People often tell us that kids can sense when someone truly cares, and we never take that honor for granted.
Since Tasha is an only child, this will be her moms very first grandbaby, and she is beyond excited. Tasha also feels blessed to still have her grandmother, who is thrilled at the chance to become a great-grandmother. Tasha often says she has the world’s best grandma, and now a little one will get to experience that same love and warmth. Most importantly, our family and friends always show up for one another. They encourage us to be our best and cheer us on every step of the way. They cannot wait to welcome a little one into the circle.

Parenting is something we have dreamed of and talked about for years. We are so excited to become parents and are committed to raising a well rounded child who is kind, genuine, and full of self-confidence. Society pushes parents to dream of having the next doctor, lawyer, or even next sports superstar, our dream is to have raised a good human being.
A big part of that dream is giving our child the chance to explore the world and discover what excites them. We want to nurture their curiosity, encourage them to ask questions, try new things, and follow their passions.
Education is very important to us, not just in the traditional sense of school, but in the everyday ways a child learns about the world. We believe in exposing a child to many experiences and perspectives. Above all, we want our future child to grow up knowing they are deeply loved, supported, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves.
