Hello and thank you very much for taking the time to read my profile. I can imagine how difficult this decision is and I appreciate you considering me. I really enjoy living here in San Diego because I love the ocean. My dream has always been to live close enough to horses and the ocean and here, I have found both.

I frequently go to the beach and I love being by the water all times of the year. I have a wonderful community of friends here as well. I also love to travel both to see important people in my life and to explore the world.

I have always wanted to be a mom and am so grateful to be on this path to adopt. I love kids and it has been my heart's desire to raise a child. I have not found the right partner to have a child with and I feel very capable of having a child on my own with the help of my large community and family. As a therapist I have worked with children and teens who were adopted or in foster care. The more I worked with this population, the more I fell in love with the kids and their families. I began to feel a pull in my own heart to adopt. Being a mom to me means loving a child and providing them with nurturance, love, and resources to experience all that life has to offer. I look forward to moments of connection with a child whether it be running around at a playground or rocking them to sleep at night.

I am a San Diego transplant from Baltimore, Maryland, originally from Wilmington, Delaware. I made a deliberate move to build the life I always dreamed of—one right near the ocean. The people in my life mean everything to me—my friends, family, and especially the kids I am lucky enough to have around, whether that's my niece and nephews or the children of close friends. I meet weekly with friends for dinner. We share our lives with each other. These people in my life bring meaning and purpose. I also love to hike, swim, surf, work with horses, and take classes to learn new things for fun or for my career.

I work as a mental health counselor and psychology professor. I provide office therapy as well as equine assisted therapy. I find that horses are very healing to me and the people I work with. I was a middle and high school teacher before becoming a therapist. I loved both careers because I enjoy learning about people's lives and I am fascinated by psychology. Now that I work for myself as a therapist, I am able to create my own hours. I plan to take off work for 3-4 months with my future baby and then go back part time.

I have loved horses all of my life. As I mentioned, I am an equine assisted therapist, which means I get to do healing work alongside horses. It has been very meaningful to me.

I also love to travel. In my 20's and 30's I was a middle school and high school teacher. Each summer I would plan a trip to a different country. My favorite part about traveling is to learn about the culture. Service trips teaching English have been some of my favorites because I was able to make genuine connections with the people in those places.

I love to be in the ocean as much as possible. When I moved to San Diego, I immediately learned to surf. I am still a beginner, but truly love the water. I also swim laps regularly. I enjoy hiking as well, and being in the beauty of nature. I am excited to introduce a future child to the beauty of the outdoors.

When I have time I also play pickle ball. It is a very fun and social sport. I mainly play as a way to socialize with my friends. I'd love my future child to grow up around that type of easy, social fun.

In 2025, I started attending a djembe drumming classes. I really enjoyed it and look forward to signing up for more classes. I'm drawn to learning about other cultures, and music is such a joyful way in. I hope to pass that same curiosity on.

I value nature, my relationships, and service. I see friends often for meals or an outdoor adventure, and though some of my family and close friends are on the East Coast, I stay close through calls, visits, and planned trips together.

I moved to beautiful San Diego to be closer to the Pacific Ocean. I love the Atlantic too, but there is something about the hills and bluffs that made me fall in love with California. I am excited to have a child grow up close enough to the ocean, to enjoy it's beauty and play in the sand. I often sit by the ocean with friends and talk or play with their kids in the water. We also snorkel a few times a year to see the leopard sharks.

I live in a small beach town. I am walking distance to the beach and the main street that has many attractions. You can find restaurants, live music, art classes, yoga studios, coffee shops and thrift stores within a five minute walk from my home. Each year there is a Christmas parade and tree lighting on the main street and beach concerts in the summer. The local library, elementary school, and playground are a short ten minute walk from my house. My neighborhood is full of people doing out-door activities. Because it is a small town it is peaceful quiet at night.

I love the change of seasons! Therefore, I visit my family in Delaware every season. I am so excited for my future child to experience all the seasons with these visits. Watching leaves change and snow fall are some of my favorite moments and I look forward to us experiencing that together. Each summer we go to Ocean City, New Jersey to see the fireworks and hang out on the South Jersey shore. In San Diego, my summers consist of beach time, listening to live music, hiking at Torrey Pines, and visits from my family.

I have a warm and close family. My sister, who is two years older than me, is my best friend and a kindergarten teacher who can't wait to be an aunt again. My older brother and his wife have one child, and my younger brother and his wife have four. I adore my niece and nephews, and some of my best days have been spent with them. My parents live five minutes apart and, though divorced, we still celebrate birthdays and big events together as one family. They are also all big Philadelphia sports fans.

Beyond family, I have lifelong friends from high school, college, my years of teaching in Baltimore, my counseling training, and new friends here in California. A new baby will be welcomed by more love than one person could ever give alone.

I have always wanted to be a mother, and that desire has only grown clearer with time. I am deeply grateful for the chance to build my family through adoption, and I would welcome an open relationship so the child can grow up knowing his or her birth family and full history.

I deeply value community and family. I would like my future child to feel the power of loving relationships in their life. I feel my relationships have shaped the person I have become.

I also value faith in something bigger than myself and the seeking of that power through personal exploration and service to others. I value creativity and education and hope to share that as well. I want my future child to find and experience their innate gifts.
